WWE currently has a lot of exciting things going on for them, with several changes backstage, as well as in the ring. SmackDown has moved to FOX, airing on Friday nights, while NXT has gone toe-to-toe with AEW's weekly show, Dynamite.

RAW, WWE's flagship product, has been a great watch over the last few months, thanks to the involvement of Paul Heyman, who is the executive director of the red brand.

Heyman has pushed several stars that were neglected, including the likes of Cedric Alexander, Ricochet, and the returns of the likes of Bobby Lashley, Lana, and Rusev on RAW, as well as Finn Balor to NXT.

WWE has a huge roster and several Superstars have not featured on WWE television for a while. With three huge shows on television, WWE could use a few of these Superstars on one of three brands.

Let's take a look at 5 inactive wrestlers WWE should bring back:

#5 Sheamus

Sheamus has been missing from WWE television for a long time, having suffered a concussion in the week after WrestleMania 35. But the Irish Superstar is reportedly cleared to wrestle and he has expressed his desire to return to the ring.

In a recent interview, Sheamus revealed that he would want to go after the Intercontinental title, which is held by Shinsuke Nakamura currently.

“First thing for me would be the Intercontinental Championship. I won both active world championships in the roster, which is the World Heavyweight Championship and the WWE Championship. So the Intercontinental Championship is one that I’ve always wanted to get my hands on," said Sheamus to Express Sport.

Sheamus could probably return as a babyface and go on to challenge Nakamura, which would make for an interesting feud.

#4 Aiden English

Aiden English played a key part in one of the most over gimmicks in WWE in recent times, Rusev Day when he joined forces with Rusev. But, WWE did not utilize the Rusev Day gimmick to its maximum potential which also saw the end of English on WWE television following a brief feud with Rusev.

The former NXT Superstar's last match on the main roster was back in October 2018, against Rusev, and he hasn't wrestled on WWE TV since. Earlier this year, English became a commentator on 205 Live, a move which could signal the end of his in-ring career.

But English could maybe return soon, with the Rusev-Lana-Bobby Lashley storyline picking up steam on RAW. English commented on Lana cheating on Rusev after a similar angle played out between Rusev-Lana-English last year.

English may not step into the ring to compete in matches, but he could surely add some extra spice into the Rusev-Bobby Lashley feud on the red brand.

#3 Ruby Riott and #2 Sarah Logan

The Riott Squad, the heel female faction, debuted in 2017, and had a promising start to their main roster careers, but have faded away quickly. The trio of Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan, and Liv Morgan were part of the faction for two years before the Riott Squad split up after Morgan's move to SmackDown after the Superstar Shake-Up.

Logan has not wrestled on the main roster for quite a few months, with her last main roster match coming against Bayley in July, but she has featured constantly on the WWE Main Event show.

Riott, on the other hand, last wrestled RAW in April, and has not even featured in the Main Event show.

WWE could perhaps bring the duo back as a tag team, and eventually challenge the Kabuki Warriors, who currently hold the Women's Tag Team titles. We could perhaps even see a reunion of the Riott Squad after the WWE Draft if all three Superstars are on the same brand.

#1 Matt Hardy

WWE legend Matt Hardy hasn't had a very good singles run in his latest return to the WWE, and his "Broken" did not win him many fans in WWE, despite it being quite entertaining.

Hardy hasn't been seen on WWE television for a while, with his last appearance coming at the Super Showdown PPV in Saudi Arabia, as part of the battle royal. This appearance, back in June, came after an absence of a few months. His absence from WWE television is mostly due to his brother Jeff's injury, which has kept him out for several months.

Matt revealed in an interview with Sky Sports earlier this year that he still has three years remaining in WWE. "I think, in the ring, much more entertainment-based than athleticism-based, I have about three years left," said Hardy.

In another interview, Hardy revealed that he wants to end his WWE career with the "Broken" gimmick and that he is waiting in the wings to get back in the ring.

"I don't think there's really one more thing, maybe. I would like to finish my run with WWE as 'Broken' Matt Hardy. I think there's still a lot of money to be made with 'Broken' Matt Hardy. I think it's different; it's very 2019," said Matt Hardy.

We could perhaps see Matt return for one last return before he leaves WWE for good, and maybe this time around the "Broken" gimmick could be a mega-hit.
