With the Money in the Bank pay-per-view done and dusted, there were quite a few interesting, surprising, shocking, and exciting things that happened at the event.

We now have a brand new first-time SmackDown Women’s Champion, which has come as a result of the title changing hands twice on Sunday night.

Apart from that, we saw an unlikely superstar winning the men’s Money in the Bank briefcase, as well as spectacular performances from the newer and younger competitors in the match.

The two top men’s championships remained safe during the event, while the United States Championship changed hands in a surprising finish.

With a lot of action on Sunday, we expect Monday and Tuesday to be no less action-packed, as Raw and SmackDown will both try to ride the momentum of the successful event.

In this article, we will look at the 5 interesting things that could possibly happen on Raw and SmackDown this week.

#5 Shane McMahon fires Elias

Shane won't be happy with Elias' loss

While Shane had a match for the Money in the Bank event where he took on The Miz, he left the task of taking down Roman Reigns to Elias.

In case you didn’t know, there is bad blood between the two superstars after Reigns Superman Punched Vince McMahon on the second night of the Superstar Shake-up.

After weeks of build up, Elias was set to fight Roman Reigns to exact revenge and also claim SmackDown Live as his “temple”.

While all that sounded great, it was thrown out the window as Reigns completely squashed Elias during the match and has now claimed SmackDown as his yard.

Shane would definitely not be happy with how things turned out for Elias and could fire the superstar in kayfabe, with a future plan in store.

#4 Ricochet and Ali get into a rivalry

While the Money in the Bank ladder match is usually chaotic, there are always at least a dozen spots in the match which makes it memorable and fun to watch.

This year, the match was filled with some of the most athletic superstars in WWE, which again gave us some of the best spots of the night.

It was Finn Balor and Andrade who stole the match for the most part and delivered some of the best spots and the most daredevil stunts which left the WWE Universe in awe. Both superstars are set to clash for the Intercontinental Championship at Super Show-Down.

The next best was definitely the chase between Ricochet and Ali, which now deserves some screentime of its own. Both high-flying superstars are brilliant athletes and they could light up whichever brand they perform on under the wild-card rule.

Judging by the way these two men worked together, it’s possible that WWE will immediately go into a rivalry between the two men this week.

#3 Lars finally finds a challenger

Lars desperately needs to find himself a challenger

It’s been weeks since Lars has been storming down the ramp, taking out superstars without any reason, and walking back up without any consequences.

While all that seems entertaining for now as WWE tries to build their next monster, its spots like these which end up ruining many superstars’ careers.

Lars is yet to fight any televised matches on the main roster, and it seems like its been years since we last saw him compete in NXT.

WWE will now want to give the superstar his first challenger as the Saudi Arabia event is drawing closer, and would want him to perform there as they continue to build on their old and new superstars.

With a little over two weeks to the show, they would want to give adequate time for a rivalry to build, and this week they could reveal the first competitor for The Freak on the main roster.

#2 Becky Lynch and Lacey Evans’ rivalry enters a new chapter

Will WWE continue Lacey Evans' push?
Will WWE continue Lacey Evans' push?

With the level of hype Lacey Evans had received at the hands of the WWE creative, at times it felt like she wasn’t the same person who had fought in a handful of mediocre televised matches.

Going into the Money in the Bank event, Evans had a 50-50 chance of becoming the new Raw Women’s Champion, and many fans were actually expecting the change to take place.

Lacey didn’t perform too well during the match, and we saw her lose her chance to become the champion. This was actually somewhat surprising considering the hype and push she’s received over the months.

With Becky losing her other title during the night, we can safely assume that she will now be more focused on defending the flagship title more than ever.

It could also mean that the two women will now get into a more focused rivalry for the coming weeks with the elimination of the other title and competitor, and could actually make things more interesting.

Who will take the first blow this week on Raw?

#1 Paul Heyman cuts an ace promo

Heyman would want Lesnar to take back the Universal Championship

There are many things Paul Heyman is proud of, and one of the main things is his client 'The Beast' Brock Lesnar.

The former Universal Champion was not scheduled to appear at the Money in the Bank event but ended up making a surprise appearance and taking out seven other men to win the Money in the Bank briefcase.

With that, he now has the opportunity to cash in his contract at any time for a world title shot, and nothing would make Paul Heyman more content than that.

We could very well see Heyman make an appearance on Raw this week and talk about the match and the title shot that Lesnar now holds, making it sound even better than it already is.

It could even result in Seth Rollins coming out and either challenging or accepting a challenge from The Beast’s Advocate, which can set their match for the Universal Championship at Super Show-Down in Saudi Arabia.
