5 main roster Superstars who could appear on WWE NXT's USA Network premiere

This week, NXT moves to USA Network, with the 18th September show the first to air on television rather than the WWE Network. We could be in for quite a few surprises on the premiere of the show, including a few main roster Superstars making an appearance.

We saw Finn Balor and Cesaro wrestle at NXT UK shows recently, and WWE could spring a surprise by adding a few Superstars from RAW and SmackDown on the show.

Let's take a look at 5 main roster Superstars who could appear on WWE NXT's USA Network premiere:

#5 Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens was fired by Shane McMahon last week on SmackDown, and put out a cryptic tweet which fans believe is a sign that he will head back to NXT this coming week.

NXT founder Triple H was asked about Owens moving to NXT, to which he said that he would love to have The Prizefighter in NXT.

While speaking to Alex McCarthy of Talksport, Triple H had this to say about Owens: "I think Kevin Owens is one of the best, most talented guys in the industry today. If there was a chance at him being in NXT today, I would jump all over that... if he was legitimately fired [laughs]."

PWInsider also reported the same a few days ago, revealing that Owens will be in Orlando and at the NXT show: “The expectation is that Kevin Owens will be in Orlando this week on September 18th and he will appear for the NXT brand. Whether he’s there for a short period of time or it’s a long-term thing I don’t know, but the expectation is that Owens will be part of the Wednesday NXT episode on September 18th.”

The former NXT Champion will certainly make the show a memorable one, and his star power could keep those that haven't watched NXT before hooked onto the show.

#4 Sheamus

Sheamus has been out of action for a few months owing to a concussion that he suffered, and we aren't quite sure when he will be back in the ring.

In a recent appearance on E&C's Pod Of Awesomeness, Sheamus said that he's waiting to get back in the ring: "I don't really know what the crack is. I'm still waiting. I'm just, again, enjoying my time. Like, it's very hard for me to sit at home all the time.

"But I don't really know what the story is as of right now. I'm still kind of in the dark about it, but I'm just training away like I'm trying to stay in the best shape I possibly can," said Sheamus.

Sheamus could maybe return to WWE television on NXT, like his former partner, Cesaro, did at NXT UK. We could perhaps see him wrestle a short match against a current NXT Superstar, or even have a small segment where he reveals that he will return shortly to the ring.

#3 Ricochet

Since signing for WWE in 2018, Ricochet has impressed wherever he has wrestled, be it on NXT or RAW. The former United States Champion was called up to the main roster earlier this year, under a year after being on NXT.

In NXT, Ricochet won the North American Championship, and had a memorable feud with Adam Cole on NXT.

We could perhaps see Ricochet back in NXT, and maybe even have a match with Cole or some other new Superstar for the first NXT show on USA Network.

#2 Drew McIntyre

Another Superstar who was in NXT previously and even held the NXT Championship is Drew McIntyre, who is currently out with an injury. According to Fightful, McIntyre may be ready to return to action after being passed fit by WWE.

We could perhaps see McIntyre return to WWE on NXT's USA Network premiere, where he talks about his NXT run and informs the fans that he will be back in action soon... maybe throw in a few Claymore Kicks to some poor NXT Superstar!

#1 Sasha Bank

Sasha Banks returned to WWE television last month, after being away from WWE television for months and immediately turned heel. She faced Becky Lynch for the RAW Women's Championship this past week at Clash of Champions, a match which she won due to disqualification but could not win the title.

The two Superstars will go at it once again in next month's Hell in a Cell PPV, which was confirmed this week on RAW.

Could we maybe see Banks on NXT this week? There's a possibility. Banks has lavished praise on her run in NXT and how it moulded her into the wrestler that she is. In a recent appearance on The Mac Attack, Banks spoke glowingly once again about NXT and it's move to the USA Network.

"I mean it's so crazy, it gives me goosebumps. I just can't believe it. NXT is its own brand. They're just really taking over and I'm so proud to be part of it. Just seeing the growth here and there I saw at the performance center how many potential starts we have in the making. It's just cool that there's NXT on USA, where the whole world can see them now," said Banks (H/T WrestlingInc)

Banks could perhaps return to give a babyface a beatdown and get the boos from the crowd.
