5 Main Roster Wrestlers Who Need A Fresh Start

The WWE is full of extremely talented superstars who are fighting to stay on top of their respective brand’s roster. Many are succeeding to do so, while others are failing in their efforts.

Currently, there are many superstars who are receiving a great push from the WWE’s development brand NXT, and getting called up to the main roster in SmackDown and Raw.

However, a few of those wrestlers have been cursed by those pushes, and even after spending many months, and even years, on the main roster, they find themselves heading in no direction other than out of the fans’ radars and out of the company.

There are many such wrestlers who have been stuck in a bad place in the WWE and are in dire need of a new gimmick and repackaging which can probably help them catapult their career on the main roster.

With that said, there are a number of superstars currently signed to the WWE and it becomes difficult for the creatives to ensure that all the superstars get a fair and decent run on their respective brands.

Let’s take a look at 5 wrestlers who are somewhat better than what they are currently getting in the WWE, and how a new gimmick could help them come out as better stars.

#5 Apollo

Elias looked pretty comfortable up there
Elias looked pretty comfortable up there

Apollo Crews is currently one of the most athletic and strongest men in the WWE. The former NXT star made his main roster debut on Raw on April 4, 2016.

However, since then Apollo hasn’t been able to make it big in the WWE and sees himself being used either as a jobber or just as a filler on the main roster.

His talent and skills are unquestionable, but there isn’t much that’s been done to prove that he is indeed a good wrestler who can rise to the top.

His previous partnership with Titus O’Neil didn’t do much for the superstar and barely helped him stay relevant.

The WWE can take this time he’s gotten away from Titus Worldwide and build the superstar as a good mid-card babyface who can later become a contender for the Intercontinental Title.

Apollo Crews is in dire need of a revamp, and last week on Raw he had a short encounter with Elias which could signal towards better days for the superstar.

#4 Dana Brooke

Dana needs to go under a lot of work
Dana needs to go under a lot of work

Dana Brooke is another wrestler who has been severely hit by bad booking, and a case of Titus Worldwide.

Even though the faction seemed like a good prospect at first, it buried all three superstars as Titus O’Neil has never really been pushed in the WWE. Therefore, Dana, who was already not in the creatives’ good books since NXT, suffered quite a bit during her time with the faction.

Dana Brooke was first to break away from Titus Worldwide and return to singles’ competition on Raw. Since then, she has seen a few better matches, where she’s gotten a chance to showcase her skills.

Even though she is no Paige, Sasha Banks, or Becky Lynch, Dana can still become a better mid-card wrestler who can have decent matches with other female superstars.

WWE first needs to repackage Dana, whose gimmick is going nowhere at the moment, and change her around a bit by probably pairing her with a better partner and putting her up in Tag Team competition.

#3 Tyler Breeze

Once a star, not always a star
Once a star, not always a star

Tyler Breeze has been stuck with the same gimmick for such a long time that even The Undertaker has retired and come out of retirement a number of times since.

His alliance with Fandango was probably his last notable work as a part of The Fashion Police, and since Fandango’s injury, he’s being used more as a jobber than anything else.

Tyler Breeze is another former NXT star who enjoyed quite a bit of success with the brand and did develop into a far better wrestler than he was initially.

Now Tyler Breeze is in need of a new gimmick that can help him become more relevant and a bigger threat on the main roster, as he is currently seen more as a joke.

The WWE could change his entire gimmick and make him a villainous character in the mid-card to make him become an actual threat, and use him for mid-card filler matches against better stars to increase his value in the company.

#2 Bobby Roode

Not so Glorious in recent months
Not so Glorious in recent months

One of the best heels of TNA and NXT now finds himself in a not-so-glorious place on the main roster.

Debuting as a face on the main roster, Bobby Roode saw better says as a heel on the development brand NXT.

However, he still managed to be one of the top superstars on the main roster after his debut and even won the United States Championship in process.

Now Bobby Roode finds himself nowhere on the main roster, and in need of a repackaging to make his character more interesting. The Glorious gimmick isn’t working anymore for the superstar who has been forced into an alliance with Chad Gable which won’t last too long.

Bobby Roode needs to turn heel and bring one of his past successful gimmicks back to become relevant on the main roster once again. The WWE needs to do so sooner than later as the WWE Universe are slowly beginning to forget the superstar.

#1 Bray Wyatt

Looks like Sister Abigail is not on his side anymore
Looks like Sister Abigail is not on his side anymore

Bray Wyatt led one of the best gimmicks in recent history after he brought together The Wyatt Family. The villainous stable was involved in some of the best rivalries we have seen in the past decade, and the entire thing was led by Wyatt himself.

Slowly, as the Wyatt Family disbanded, Bray Wyatt began to lose his star power and after engaging in a few high-profile singles feuds, especially with Randy Orton, began to see his stocks fall.

He was recently teamed up with Matt Hardy after both men had a feud, and the two of them went on to win the Raw Tag Team titles as The Deleter of Worlds.

Bray Wyatt has been away from TV for some time now and has been teasing a return to Raw soon. Fans are excited to see what The Eater of Worlds has in store for them, and we hope that he is coming back with a new gimmick to further push his character, rather than returning with the same gimmick he has been running for the past few years.
