NXT has been cruising through as the top brand of WWE since Survivor Series 2019. While the event may have seen the brand get lucky during several matches, they have proven that it wasn’t just luck that got them over during the pay-per-view.

As the months have passed by, we’ve seen some interesting changes take place in NXT, and the build-up to WrestleMania has provided the brand even more exposure in 2020.

With a lot going on in all three brands, and WWE trying to give fans something to cheer about during a global pandemic, there are some things that must happen in NXT over the next few weeks, especially after WrestleMania 36.

Not only will this strengthen the brand and make it even bigger, but possibly also allow it to increase its presence and viewership.

In this article, we will look at the 5 major changes that should take place in NXT after WrestleMania 36 to bring the brand parallel to the other brands.

#5 The Superstar Shakeup must include the Black & Gold brand

For years, we’ve seen Superstars from NXT graduate to RAW or SmackDown once they are ready. The Superstar Shakeup, which usually takes place after WrestleMania each year, takes a handful of Superstars from NXT and puts them either on RAW or SmackDown. However, we don’t see any Superstar move to NXT in the process.

During the past several months, WWE has been shown the rest of the industry that NXT is at par with RAW and SmackDown, especially since competition has started to rise.

Superstars such as Tyler Breeze, Finn Balor, and Killian Dain have returned to NXT after making an impact on RAW and SmackDown, and this time WWE must switch the Superstars to the Black and Gold brand as well.

This will allow NXT to get a pool of experienced men and women and increase the competition on the brand.

It will also give the Superstars something different to do and new titles to chase while getting into some fresh rivalries rather than renewing old ones.

#4 The Championship scenes must open up

The Champions should find some unlikely new challengers

NXT has some of the top Superstars and Champions in the industry. From Charlotte Flair to Kairi Sane, and from Finn Balor to Adam Cole, we’ve seen many different Superstars take the titles of the brand to new heights.

While there is no doubt that NXT is doing a great job at building new Superstars and challenges, they must open up the title scenes a bit more and allow more performers a chance to compete for the titles.

The NXT Tag Team Championship scene saw a handful of teams such as War Raiders (The Viking Raiders), Undisputed Era, and DIY dominate the scene before the team of Pete Dunne and Matt Riddle came up.

Similarly, the company must allow newer faces challenge for the NXT Championship too rather than have the same Superstars such as Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, and The Velveteen Dream target the major championships on the brand.

This will allow the competition on the brand increase and give more Superstars such as Tyler Breeze, KUSHIDA, Jaxson Ryker, Killian Dain, and others a chance to grow.

#3 Charlotte Flair must join the brand

NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley may be young, but she seems like the most courageous Champion WWE has at the moment. The young Superstar took little time to walk out on an episode of RAW and challenge the 2020 Women's Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair to a match at WrestleMania.

This will be the first time a Superstar from RAW will challenge for an NXT title at The Grandest Stage of Them All, and there is no doubt that the match will be epic.

While Flair has a good chance of becoming a two-time NXT Champion after conquering RAW and SmackDown for several years, the young Ripley has proven that she doesn’t back down easily and can be a handful for anyone in the ring.

Whether Flair wins or loses the match, she must move to NXT after WrestleMania. If she does win the title, it will be obvious for her to move to the brand, but a loss must impress her with the talent on NXT and force her onto the brand to look for some new competition.

This will help WWE make new bookings for The Queen and also a chance to increase NXT’s viewership just like they did by bringing Finn Balor back to the brand.

#2 Killer Kross must debut

In February 2020, during WWE Backstage, it was confirmed that Killer Kross had signed with the WWE. Before signing with the company, Kross had competed in a single tag team match with Darren Young against Konnor and Victor in 2015 on RAW.

While fans began to speculate whether Kross would debut on RAW or SmackDown, they began to see vignettes for his arrival airing on NXT.

While fans have been waiting for Kross to debut for two months now, it seems like WWE is holding back to allow him to make a big debut and a big impact. This could see Kross make a debut on NXT right after WrestleMania, making the headlines at the right time.

We must watch Kross debut as a heel and attack NXT North American Champion Keith Lee. This will allow him to begin a Championship feud against a top Superstar and will help Kross get a lot more eyeballs while allowing him a chance to get a title in WWE early in his career.

Fans have a lot of expectations of Kross in WWE, and NXT must give the fans exactly what they want to get more viewers.

#1 The loser of Tommaso Ciampa vs Johnny Gargano leaves NXT

Two men will enter, only one will leave

Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano have been the best of friends and the fiercest of rivals in NXT. The two Superstars rivalry may be the biggest one in all of WWE, and Triple H offered them a chance to settle their differences.

Instead, both men agreed that all they needed was a ring to end their rivalry once and for all, and the two will now meet in a building with just a ring and a referee inside.

This could end up being the biggest and most brutal match in the history of the brand, and the victor will arguably get the most bragging rights after all is said and done.

One thing Triple H made extremely clear during the segment with the two men was that this would be the final time Ciampa and Gargano would take each other on, and if they engage again following this battle, they will both be gone from NXT.

Keeping that in mind, we must watch the loser of the clash walk away from NXT and switch to RAW or SmackDown following the match. Gargano and Ciampa are the two biggest Superstars NXT has ever produced, and either one moving from the brand will leave a big void in the brand.

However, this will allow the Superstars to grow while giving someone else a chance to climb up the ladder and fill that void.
