WWE Superstars have become notorious for the relationships over the past few years, with a number of scandals from the WWE locker rooms making worldwide news.

These Superstars are publically recognisable athletes which means that most of the time they are expected to be seen as role models to the next generation, and not caught up in any kind of scandals with other Superstars.

There are a number of WWE stars who have been able to settle down and marry after their WWE careers have come to an end, but it's been incredibly hard for them to get past the reputation they created for themselves in WWE.

The following list looks at some of these stars, the ones who are now married but have a long list of ex's in the wrestling business who remember them well.

#5 Edge

There is a reason why Edge became known as "The Rated R Superstar" whilst he was still wrestling for WWE and it seems to be mostly focused on his personal life.

The former 11-time World Champion has been married three times, divorced twice and involved in one of the biggest love triangles in WWE history when he and Lita were revealed to have been having an affair behind her boyfriend Matt Hardy's back. Of course, this was all before 2005, it seems that Edge has recently managed to turn his life around.

Edge was forced to leave WWE back in 2011 after he suffered a cervical vertebral fusion which essentially meant that his wrestling career was over. Since his WWE departure, Edge has been dating former WWE Divas Champion Beth Phoenix, and the couple now have two daughters together, and after five years of dating, finally decided to tie the knot on Edge's 43rd Birthday in September last year.

In April this year, Edge and Beth became the first ever couple to both be inducted into WWE's Hall of Fame when Phoenix was added to the 2017 Class.

#4 Maria Kanellis

Maria came to WWE through the Diva Search back in 2004, and even though she was only used as a backstage interviewer for much of her first tenure with WWE, it seems that she was still able to create waves in the backstage area.

Maria dated fellow Chicago, Illinois native CM Punk when the "Best in the World" first joined WWE back in 2005, and then dated John Cena, when the duo was involved in a WWE storyline before Cena married his first wife Elizabeth Huberdeau in 2009.

The former Playboy cover girl later left WWE and managed to become "The First Lady" of both TNA and Ring of Honor in recent years which is where she met her current husband Mike Bennett. The couple were inseparable in both wrestling promotions as Maria used her newfound mic skills to help her husband rise to the top on both shows.

Maria then returned to WWE at Money in the Bank a few months ago, with her husband in tow. The couple recently shared the happy news that they are expecting their first child together, which could be why Maria hasn't been seen on WWE TV for a while.

#3 Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy was once part of one of the most exciting Tag Teams in WWE history alongside his brother Jeff. The duo has attempted to recreate the spark that they once had in the WWE Tag Team Division over the past few months, since their return to WWE at WrestleMania.

Matt has returned to the company a different man from the one who departed back in 2010, Hardy is now married to former TNA Knockout Reby Sky and the couple have two children together. It seems that after all of his personal problems in recent years, Matt has been able to come out on top.

Previously, Hardy was in a six-year relationship with former WWE Women's Champion Lita. The duo dated whilst Lita and Hardy worked together in Team Extreme before it was made public knowledge that Lita had an affair with Edge whilst Matt was out injured.

Matt later moved on to a relationship with 2005 Raw Diva Search winner Ashley, but their relationship was cut short when Ashley was drafted over to the SmackDown brand to work as a valet for Tag Team Champions Brian Kendrick and Paul London. The 2007 Playboy Cover girl started a relationship with London, which caused a lot of friction between London and Hardy, something that is rumoured to be still unresolved to this day.

#2 Mickie James

Mickie James is considered to be a veteran in WWE's Women's Division right now. As a former six-time Women's Champion, there are a number of women who look up to the former TNA Knockout on the WWE locker room.

Mickie wasn't seen as the same kind of role model when she was in her first tenure with WWE, that began back in 2005, since her personal life managed to hold her back professionally and was one of the main reasons why she ended up leaving the company back in 2010.

Mickie was engaged to former Spirit Squad member Kenny Dykstra from 2007 after the duo had met whilst they were both in developmental with WWE. Mickie later was revealed to have been having an affair with former WWE Champion John Cena, and Dykstra was then released from the company whilst Mickie was drafted away from Cena to the SmackDown brand.

Mickie seemingly learnt her lesson and after joining TNA in 2010, she met her future husband Magnus. The couple married in December 2015 just over a year after their first child, a son called Donovan Patrick Aldis was born.

#1 CM Punk

CM Punk married AJ Lee In 2014

CM Punk was one of the most controversial WWE stars of the past generation, and a star who had a lengthy dating history.

Punk joined WWE back in 2005 and was known to be dating former Diva Search contestant Maria Kanellis when he joined the main roster. Punk later moved on to date the likes of Kelly Kelly and Mickie James, before reportedly being in a relationship with Lita back in 2009.

The couple later broke up and this led to Punk then dating former WWE Divas Champion Beth Phoenix, in a relationship that reportedly didn't end very well.

Punk then began dating Lita again after his relationship with Phoenix came to an end and it is thought that this is where his relationship with AJ Lee first began.

AJ Lee and CM Punk worked together on-screen for a number of years before they decided to start dating, even though Lee wrote in her biography that she released earlier this year, that she knew that Punk was 'the one' from the minute they first kissed on WWE TV back in 2012. Following Punk's controversial departure from WWE, the couple married on June 13th, 2014.
