5 Opponents for Brock Lesnar after he returns to WWE

Who will be The Beast Incarnate's next victim?
Who will be The Beast Incarnate's next victim?

In his entire career, The Beast Brock Lesnar has been terrorizing everyone in his path and has captured championships along the way. This year, however, his momentum has slightly taken a step back as he lost to The Beastslayer Seth Rollins twice, losing his Universal Championship on both occasions. For years, WWE built Lesnar up to be an irresistible force, but at SummerSlam, he lost to an injured Seth Rollins clean, which hurt his character.

The former Universal Champion, however, is still one of the biggest Superstars the company has to offer and whether he returns sooner or later, he'll no doubt bounce back and leave a lasting impact in the ring. With WWE set to return to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia once again, Lesnar will no doubt be part of the event and there are plenty of Superstars who could step up to the Mayor of Suplex City. Whether it'll be at a Saudi Arabian event or any other pay-per-view, including WrestleMania 36, Lesnar will need an opponent and not just any opponent, but a credible one.

That said, here are five Superstars Brock Lesnar could possibly face once he makes his WWE return.

#5 Bobby Lashley

Former Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley has expressed interest in facing Brock Lesnar multiple times. Seeing these two heavyweights clash in the ring would be interesting and since they both have experience in MMA, they could put on a clean technical wrestling match mixed with some hard-hitting action which would be amusing to watch.

Lashley, however, has been out of action for a while now after he reportedly suffered an elbow injury. He underwent surgery and his projected return date was in early November. If everything goes well, he could return sooner than expected and we could possibly see a match between him and Lesnar sooner or later. Lashley has asked for a match with Lesnar in the past and WWE could eventually grant his wish.

In an interview with SPORTbible, in regards to facing Lesnar, Lashley stated:

“Absolutely. I can post anything on social media and the people will reply we wanna see you and Brock, it’s something that has been building for the last 10 years so eventually it’s gonna happen because the fans want it to happen that bad," Bobby revealed.

#4 The Fiend

"The Fiend" Bray Wyatt

The Fiend is quite possibly the most talked about and the scariest Superstar in WWE right now. He is a sadistic monster who has attacked several WWE Hall of Famers and the company is no doubt high on the character and they want it to remain as big as it is.

The Fiend is highly protected by WWE and very soon we could see him return to scout his next victim. "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt took on his first opponent Finn Balor at SummerSlam where he came out on top.

Facing Brock Lesnar will be a big deal for him and defeating The Beast will solidify him as a dominant force. He will be seen as a legitimate threat and he'll also be taken seriously. This will surely be an incredible match and The Fiend can be booked as an unstoppable monster after beating Lesnar, which will work wonders for his character.

#3 Matt Riddle

Current WWE NXT Superstar Matt Riddle is another Superstar who has recently expressed interest in facing Brock Lesnar. Just like Lesnar, Riddle has also competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), but he didn't enjoy the same success. The King of Bros took things a little further when he promised to retire Brock Lesnar.

In an interview hosted by Jeremy Borash (in the video below), Riddle stated:

"Oh yeah, retiring Brock... it's no secret. That's been the goal since I started wrestling, since the very beginning," Riddle revealed. "I like to set goals that seem impossible. Only one person can retire Brock Lesnar, only one person can end his career, and that person's going to be me. I don't like how he does it, I don't like the respect that he shows, and I don't like the workrate that he puts out. That's just my personal opinion. I think he's capable of more. Maybe it doesn't work out for me, maybe it doesn't work out the first time, but I guarantee you I'm going to beat him and I'm gonna retire him."

Riddle is still in NXT, but he could soon find his way to the main roster and possibly challenge Lesnar to a match. It'll be really interesting to see these two former UFC fighters go at it in a WWE ring.

#2 Drew McIntyre

The Scottish Psychopath

Drew McIntyre can't seem to catch a break lately. After being portrayed as a dominant force and a major heel last year, this year, however, The Scottish Psychopath has been at the receiving end of many losses and this has damaged his credibility quite a bit.

He was recently eliminated from the King of the Ring tournament by Ricochet and he's yet to receive his singles match for the Universal Championship that he rightfully deserves.

Drew was once nicknamed "The Chosen One" during his initial run with WWE but failed to be a main eventer. This time, WWE can correct their past mistake by booking him better and the best way to do this is by giving him a match with Brock Lesnar.

If he manages to conquer The Beast, this will elevate him to the top of the card once again and he'll probably go on to receive a shot at the Big Red Belt.

#1 Kofi Kingston

Brock Lesnar could challenge Kofi for the WWE Championship

What many might not know is that Brock Lesnar and Kofi Kingston have faced each other in WWE before. The two Superstars clashed at Beast in the East in 2015, which took place in Japan, and The Beast came out on top. Kingston is currently the WWE Champion, and with SmackDown Live moving to FOX in October, WWE needs a big name to carry the blue brand's top prize.

Brock Lesnar is a big name and he's a huge draw as well. Plus, he also competed in UFC, and with FOX wanting SmackDown to be more sports-oriented, this makes Lesnar the perfect person to carry the show. Putting the title on Lesnar and moving him back to the blue brand will be best for business. Lesnar has been on RAW for too long and there's nothing left for him on the red brand.

He had an impressive career on SmackDown in his initial run with WWE and he'll bring more eyes to the show if he makes his return to the brand. He might be a part-time champion, but whenever he returns, it'll be a big deal and fans will look forward to his next return all the time.
