5 Points to note from WWE NXT- New Champs crowned, Glimpse into future of RAW stars?

The future is truly Undisputed as we learned this week
The future is truly Undisputed as we learned this week

If you've read my articles (thank you for doing so) over the last few years, you'll know that I don't consider reviewing WWE NXT to be work. It is a pleasure to be able to watch a show so good, filled with every element that first made us fall in love with pro wrestling.

This week's episode was an exceptionally good one and I hope that this review induces you to go and watch the show if you've not done so already. I'm just glad that it wasn't a 'Best and Worst' column, because nothing on the show was bad at all, in my personal opinion.

It's baffling that RAW and SmackDown Live can be so far off base on most weeks when NXT hits the bulls-eye almost every week. They don't even do anything extraordinary and just let the performers do what they do best every single week.

Maybe this is the mantra to a good show, I suppose!

#5 Heavyweights fly around like it's 205 Live

You would assume that the men on 205 Live don't weigh as much as the heavyweights because it allows for them to pull off many death-defying stunts with the utmost ease. But Keith Lee and the returning Dominik Dijakovic proved on this week's show that the bigger men are just as agile, just as nimble, just as silky smooth as their smaller counterparts.

This was a match that had Beth Phoenix gasping at various points, but you could tell that this was not an act, it was not something that she was told to do. The Hall of Famer was genuinely shocked and surprised by what she was seeing in the ring. And when someone like her is impressed, it speaks volumes about the quality of the wrestling, doesn't it?

#4 Io Shirai chased off by Candice LeRae

Candice LeRae and Io Shirai used to be the best of friends. Now they have become sworn enemies who're putting on a program that some have considered even more exciting than the current NXT Women's Championship picture, because of just how personal it seems. It does help that the two women are two of the best female wrestlers in the world too.

Io Shirai was finesse personified as she made short work of Cami Fields in the ring, delivering a picture-perfect moonsault that was a sight to behold. But then she would not go for the pin, choosing the Harajuku Clutch instead. I'm sure this will be a big part of her arsenal in the weeks to come.

In any case, Candice LeRae would chase Shirai away when she chose to inflict more damage to Fields than was really necessary. These two women are far from done, and we're glad!

#3 Will The Street Profits finally start competing on RAW?

The main event match was a good one where O'Reilly and Fish went up against The Street Profits in what was a solid clash. Unfortunately, it would signal the end of the Profits' reign, as The Undisputed ERA inched closer to realizing their prophecy.

I wonder if this means that the Street Profits will start competing on RAW at long last. Or if indeed, they will still be the face of the Tag Team Division on the USA Network, because there's not a lot of depth in the Tag Team Division at this moment.

In any case, whatever the case may be, The Street Profits are over at the moment and the path to the future is only paved with success for them. But for now, the black and gold brand is truly undisputed!

Only Roderick Strong is yet to win the big one, but it seems like only a matter of time!

#2 Rhea Ripley comes to Full Sail

There are few women in WWE who can intimidate Shayna Baszler because she's an imposing presence. She's had one of the most dominant reigns as NXT Women's Champion at the top of the roster. I daresay that she was rattled when Rhea Ripley strode forth confidently into the ring, forcing her to retreat at once.

Ripley just screams 'money' because of the way she looks and the way she carries herself in the ring, in my opinion. And while Baszler's feuds haven't been the best in recent times, I have a feeling that the one with Ripley is one to watch out for. This is because, for the first time in her career, Ripley seems to be on the back foot.

But don't forget that Baszler has the numbers advantage thanks to the Horsewomen. If there's one woman that can end Baszler's reign convincingly, it's Ripley.

#1 Shane Thorne interrupts the announcers

Mauro Ranallo, WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix and Nigel McGuinness did a commendable job behind the commentary desk this week, as they do on most weeks. And then suddenly, out of the blue, their performance was interrupted by Shane Thorne.

Thorne used to be a part of TM-61 which then became The Mighty, which then became obsolete, leading Thorne to embark on a singles career. And he's doing a great job from the looks of it ruffling feathers and turning the NXT Universe against him.

I wonder if this potentially means that he will go up against someone like the Velveteen Dream or even Matt Riddle down the line because what he essentially needs is a breakout feud to get him over big time. I wonder if he'll be a big part of NXT on the USA Network, going forward.
