5 popular superstars who have never competed inside the Elimination Chamber

Elimination Chamber is around the corner and over the past years, we have seen some of the most extreme matches inside this steel structure. Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and John Cena and Edge are some of the superstars that have made the Elimination Chamber matches memorable.

This year, Mustafa Ali and Samoa Joe will enter the demonic structure for the first time, while Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, and Jeff Hardy have already competed inside the Elimination Chamber, and will look to capture the WWE Championship this time around.

Some of the most prominent superstars of the Ruthless Aggression Era, The PG Era, and the current main roster have competed inside the Elimination Chamber. Right from the first Chamber match, most of the superstars that have competed in it are popular among the fans and the wrestling industry.

It's surprising to know that even the likes of Santino Marella, The Great Khali, The Ascension, The Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O'Neil) and also the forgotten team of Los Matadores have battled inside the unforgiving structure.

#5 Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy has had a 'Wonderful' career but has never competed inside an Elimination Chamber

Matt Hardy joined WWE, then known as WWF, in 1994 and has been a pioneer in the Tag-Team Wrestling genre for over two decades. He and his brother Jeff had revolutionized the tag-team division in the early 2000s and laid the foundation for an extreme form of tag-team wrestling, something which was new to the WWE audiences back then.

The former ECW Champion has had a lengthy tenure in WWE, serving almost two decades in the company. He had departed WWE multiple times, once in 2005 and again in 2010, but during all his tenures there were more than a handful number of Elimination Chamber matches, of which he could never be a part of.

While he was never seen as a main event player, his brother Jeff had been part of two Elimination Chamber matches, once to determine the number one contender for the WWE Championship in 2008, and again in 2009 for the WWE Championship.

As a performer who's been known for his extreme style of wrestling in his early years, he has been eluded an opportunity to be a part of one of the most extreme structures in wrestling.

#4 Shelton Benjamin

The Gold Standard has never been able to land himself inside the chamber

Despite being one of the most gifted wrestlers of his generation, Shelton Benjamin never got the opportunity to show his skills inside an Elimination Chamber. During his initial run in WWE, 'The Gold Standard' was receiving a major push by the management, thanks to his association with Kurt Angle and Charlie Haas. Shelton won the United States Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, and was a two time Tag Team champion with Haas.

A slick performer between the ropes, Benjamin has always been massively underrated throughout his entire career. His accomplishments and credentials were not enough for him to get a main event level push from the authorities backstage.

Although he never won any World Championship during both his tenures in WWE, his popularity stems from the fact that the audiences love his in-ring skills. His moves and counters have been very well documented and he will be remembered for some of the craziest moments inside the ring during the Ruthless Aggression Era.

#3 Eddie Guerrero

Eddie Guerrero will always be remembered for his innovative ways to win a match

Before his tragic death in 2005, Eddie Guerrero was a star. He was one of the most charismatic and flamboyant performers this industry had ever seen. 'Latino Heat' had captured the imaginations of wrestling fans like no other Latin American superstar had ever done in the WWE. He wrestled in all kinds of matches in his short stint in WWE, but he was unfortunate to never be part of the Elimination Chamber match.

The first ever Elimination Chamber match took place in 2002, and there were two more chamber matches by 2005. This was the time in which Eddie was at his prime, which included winning the WWE Championship in 2004. His infectious personality and technical prowess made him a backstage sweetheart, which is why his death shook the industry to its core.

Had he been still alive, he would have lit up the WWE ring for years to come and surely would have been part of an Elimination Chamber match. It would have been a wonderful sight to see the creativity he demonstrates, especially when he cheats his opponents to a victory.

#2 The Rock

The Rock is arguably the most well-known celebrity on the planet

There is no one more celebrated in the WWE than Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Arguably he and Stone Cold Steve Austin were responsible for putting WWE ahead of all their competition during the Attitude Era. He is a 10-time World Champion, a Hollywood A-lister, and the biggest draw in the entertainment industry.

What has he not done?

Yes, he's never been part of an Elimination Chamber match.

The same case could have been made for Steve Austin, but sadly, during the period of 2001-2003, Stone Cold was stuck in a creative limbo that made it miserable for him to continue further in WWE. Stone Cold Steve Austin had already hung up his boots before the Elimination Chamber match stipulation gathered steam.

But the Rock could have been part of a lot of chamber matches, not just in his first run with the company, but even in his second stint as well when he returned to WWE in 2011. His run in 2013 with the WWE Championship could have also seen him in a match inside the barbaric structure, but fans never got to see that happen.

#1 Brock Lesnar

The Beast has never found the opportunity to conquer the Elimination Chamber

Brock Lesnar is one of those wrestlers who fits the Elimination Chamber stipulation perfectly. A beast, a destroyer, and a merciless athlete, his style of inflicting pain lend him all the credentials suited to this punishing structure. Even though he's been around WWE for almost a decade combined, Brock has never stepped into an Elimination Chamber.

One may forget that his initial run in WWE lasted only 3 years. Lesnar was a dominant force ever since he made his debut in 2002. Within 5 months of his introduction, Lesnar became the WWE Champion. Back then he was the youngest superstar to win the WWE Championship, a record which was broken later by Randy Orton.

A second WWE run came calling for Brock in 2012, and he's been part of the main roster ever since. Although he has spent a majority of his second run as a World Champion, Lesnar never had to compete inside the Elimination Chamber. There is still a possibility that we may see the Beast Incarnate inside the structure, but given his contract and his lack of appearances, it might be a distant dream for all the fans.
