5 possible mystery partners for Chris Jericho at AEW TNT premiere

Earlier this week, All Elite Wrestling officially announced the first match for AEW's premiere episode on TNT, and the bout will feature Cody vs Sammy Guevara.

Today, AEW announced the second match for the highly anticipated TNT debut, taking place on Wednesday, October 2nd, and the bout will feature Kenny Omega teaming up with The Young Bucks to face Chris Jericho and two mystery partners.

Jericho hyped "bringing in" talent for the match on October when he Tweeted the following:

Let's take a look at five possible tag teams and talents who could be Chris Jericho's mystery partners at the AEW on TNT debut.

#5 Enzo Amore and Big Cass

Despite being "retired", former WWE star Enzo Amore, now known as nZo, has been teasing he might come out of retirement for the right match.

Enzo's former tag team partner Big Cass, who was released from WWE last year, has been working his way back up the pro wrestling ranks on the independent scene and could be a great fit for a surprise appearance at All Elite Wrestling.

Enzo and Cass made a surprise appearance for Ring of Honor at the G1 Supercard event at Madison Square Garden earlier this year, interrupting the Guerrillas of Destiny’s victory celebration and brawling with the Briscoe Brothers and Bully Ray.

However, the two, who goes by the tag team name of Free AgentZ, have not signed with ROH, making it very possible they could appear on the AEW TNT debut as Chris Jericho's mystery opponents.

With Jericho and AEW looking to make a big splash with whoever they bring in to team up with Y2J, the team of Enzo and Cass could send major waves throughout the pro wrestling industry as two big free agents looking to make another pro wrestling impact.

#4 Eli Drake

Another current free agent in the pro wrestling world is former Impact Wrestling Champion Eli Drake, who left the company earlier this year.

Drake is a 17-year pro wrestling veteran, having found early success in the company when he debuted in 2015 as part of The Rising, a faction lead by current WWE star Drew McIntyre which also featured Bullet Club member Tanga Loa.

Eli Drake is a great hand on the microphone and would complement Chris Jericho very well as a heel in All Elite Wrestling, teaming up with Y2J for AEW's debut on TNT.

A former Impact Wrestling Champion, Eli Drake is a talent who could make an instant name for himself in All Elite Wrestling and could solidify himself as a main event player in the budding promotion following a lukewarm 2019 in Impact Wrestling.

Besides, Chris Jericho and Eli Drake trading barbs on the microphone before their 6-man tag team match at the AEW TNT premiere could be highly entertaining.

#3 Joey Ryan

Joey Ryan famously announced earlier this year that he has chosen independent wrestling in favor of signing with a big company such as WWE, Impact Wrestling, or AEW, but that does not prevent Ryan from making a surprise appearance at the AEW on TNT debut show.

Ryan made an appearance at last year's All In PPV, and while that event technically was not under the AEW umbrella, as the company had not yet launched, Ryan definitely has a good relationship with the AEW crew.

Ryan's particular brand of pro wrestling, comedy, and over-the-top antics make him a great fit for the upstart AEW brand, especially considering AEW plans to differentiate itself from WWE and other top TV promotions.

Should Joey Ryan make an appearance at the AEW on TNT debut, teaming up with Chris Jericho as a loudmouth heel alongside Y2J could be a winning combination, especially if Jericho selects another brash personality as his third teammate.

#2 Minoru Suzuki

New Japan Pro Wrestling hard hitter Minoru Suzuki might be a member of the NJPW roster, but he famously works as a freelancer with the company, and is not signed to an official deal. Suzuki has a verbal agreement in place with NJPW, which could technically allow him to make a surprise appearance at the AEW on TNT debut show.

With AEW emphasizing its in-ring product and physicality, Suzuki would make a great addition to the roster, even if only for sporadic appearances, given his notorious, stiff in-ring style.

Suzuki teaming up with Chris Jericho could be really fun to watch, especially if Y2J is able to secure another hard-hitting talent to be the third member of his team.

While it might be a long shot to see any NJPW talents appearing on AEW, as the two promotions have no working agreement in place, it would be excellent fantasy booking to see the 51 year old Japanese legend grace an American ring alongside Chris Jericho.

#1 John Morrison

The man of many names, John Morrison, aka Johnny Nitro, aka Johnny Impact, aka Johnny Mundo, real name John Hennigan, became a free agent in pro wrestling earlier this year when he finished up with Impact Wrestling at the 2019 Slammiversary PPV.

Morrison has since said he does not know what the future holds for him in terms of pro wrestling, but considering he plans to continue his acting career, he might be better suited for a promotion such as All Elite Wrestling instead of returning to a company such as WWE.

Should Morrison be entertaining the idea of returning to the ring this year, AEW's TNT debut show could be a great opportunity for Morrison to make a major return, and mix it up with talents such as Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.

Most fans would likely consider John Morrison vs The Bucks and Kenny Omega to be a dream matchup, and his style would compliment that of The Bucks and Omega, as well as his tag team partner, Chris Jericho.
