Royal Rumble is one of the biggest PPVs of the year. The next one will be held on 27 January 2019, in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Royal Rumble match is one of the most interesting matches in WWE. The winner of the match gets the golden opportunity to main-event WrestleMania. This year's Royal Rumble match was won by Shinsuke Nakamura, and he went on to face AJ Styles for the WWE Championship, but he lost.

Charlotte Flair seems to be the favourite to win the next women's Royal Rumble. With her current booking, and the events that took place at Survivor Series, she could win the Royal Rumble and challenge Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women's Championship.

The men's Royal Rumble winner is really hard to predict as WWE is booking many superstars very strongly, and all of them have a huge amount of talent.

In this article, I will predict 5 superstars who can win the men's Royal Rumble match. Lets begin.

#5 Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio could fulfill some dream matches on The Show of Shows with a win at the 2019 Royal Rumble.

Since returning to WWE, Mysterio has been booked very strongly. He has competed at the top level, and has given amazing performances. If we look at his current matches, it is hard to digest that he is 43 years old.

Rey Mysterio vs Daniel Bryan and Rey Mysterio vs AJ Styles are two dream matches of fans around the world, and they would love to see Mysterio lock horns with Bryan or Styles at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Mysterio winning the Royal Rumble and facing Bryan or Styles at WrestleMania is the perfect way to capitalise on his return.

But one of the top heels on SmackDown could create a problem for him.

#4 Andrade 'Cien' Almas

Andrade 'Cien' Almas will definitely be a future World Champion, and he could have an opportunity to become a world champion at WrestleMania 35. Almas is one of the best in-ring performers in WWE right now. He has an immense amount of talent, and he could definitely become one of the hottest superstars in WWE if he is booked properly.

Winning the Royal Rumble will be the perfect boost for Almas, and it will definitely elevate him as a superstar. According to some reports, Vince McMahon is very impressed with Almas' performances on the main roster, and is even considering him as an option to win the Royal Rumble.

It would be a treat to watch Almas in the main event of WrestleMania, and he will surely deliver a great match. Considering all things, Almas is definitely a strong and worthy contender for the Royal Rumble match.

But a returning superstar could create a problem for Almas at the Royal Rumble.

#3 John Cena

Cena - A 3 time Royal Rumble winner?
Cena - A 3 time Royal Rumble winner?

Now, I know what you are thinking, Cena does not deserve to be the 2019 Royal Rumble winner, and I completely agree, he doesn't require another Royal Rumble win to solidify his legacy. Wrestlers like McIntyre and Almas deserve to win the Royal Rumble, but please just hear me out.

Whether you like him or not, Cena is a superstar that always get a reaction from the crowd. WWE hasn't been able to make WrestleMania feel special in the past few years, and Cena is a superstar who could help WWE with that. He is a man that can cut passionate promos and hype up an event better than anyone else on the current roster.

He has not been seen on WWE TV for a long time, but he will probably return at Royal Rumble, and he could win the match and go on to challenge the Universal or WWE Champion.

He will most likely challenge the WWE Champion. Whether the champion will be Daniel Bryan or AJ Styles, we can be certain that it will be an exciting rivalry. The number of storylines which could be developed from Cena's win are immense. He could even win the championship and become the first ever man to win 17 world championships.

#2 Seth Rollins

Can Rollins defeat the 29 other superstars?
Can Rollins defeat the 29 other superstars?

The Kingslayer has carried Raw on his back for the whole year. He is the current Intercontinental Champion, and is currently involved in a feud with Dean Ambrose. Rollins has put on great matches every week, and has truly gotten the fans behind him.

If Rollins were to become the Royal Rumble winner, he will first have to lose the Intercontinental title, and he could lose the title at TLC where he will be facing Dean Ambrose. This would also help create new storylines for Ambrose.

Rollins has won everything in WWE except the Royal Rumble. All the great superstars have a rumble win in their career, and Rollins would need one for him to be considered an all-time great. Next year's Royal Rumble is the perfect time for Rollins to win. Also, according to some reports, he will be facing 'The Beast Incarnate' at WrestleMania 35

Rollins and Lesnar have plenty of history which could come into play. We can be sure that they will create an amazing rivalry and have a great match at WrestleMania 35.

#1 Drew McIntyre

'The Scottish Psychopath' can get a serious push
'The Scottish Psychopath' can get a serious push

Topping the list of the possible winners of the Royal Rumble is 'The Scottish Psychopath' Drew McIntyre. He has the best chances of winning the Royal Rumble, as he ticks every box required to be the Royal Rumble winner. He has been heavily protected since his return, he recently brutalised Kurt Angle, he looked like a monster at Survivor Series, and even scored an elimination.

He is currently one of the best workers in WWE, he is excellent on the mic, and has had amazing matches with the likes of Finn Balor and Seth Rollins.

Reports have suggested that The Scottish Psychopath is in line for a huge push next year, and that push could start at the Royal Rumble. Winning the Rumble will elevate his career to the next level, and will solidify his position as a main-eventer. With his physical attributes, he would also be seen as a credible threat to Brock Lesnar or Strowman (if he wins the championship at Royal Rumble).

Whether the match is between McIntyre and Lesnar, or McIntyre and Strowman, we can be certain that the match will be nothing short of amazing.
