5 potential babyface opponents for heel Bayley in the future

Bayley attacks Lynch

There was a time when you would get a chuckle out of anyone if you mentioned the possibility of a heel Bayley. The Hugger was possibly the most over woman down in NXT at one point of time, and was getting heavily cheered on a regular basis. Her main roster run left a lot to be desired, but it seems like WWE has finally started using Bayley to her fullest potential.

She won the SmackDown Live Women's title at Money In The Bank, by cashing in her MITB briefcase on Charlotte Flair. Recently, Bayley shocked the wrestling world to its core by attacking Becky Lynch and reuniting with her best friend Sasha Banks, turning heel in the process.

Banks and Bayley didn't stop here, and went on to attack Charlotte Flair on SmackDown Live. Last night on Raw, Bayley and Banks lost a tag team match against Lynch and Flair. Bayley is all set to defend her title against Flair at Clash of Champions. In light of her big heel turn, let's look at five babyfaces she could face down the line.

#5 Carmella

Thanks to her 24/7 title exploits with R-Truth, Carmella is managing to stay in the shuffle on the main roster. She turned face last year when she agreed on managing R-Truth against The Miz, to avoid interference from Maryse. Carmella won the WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal at this year's edition, by eliminating Sarah Logan.

Although she isn't anywhere close to the title picture, WWE has managed to keep the spotlight on Carmella by putting her with Truth. Currently, Carmella is out with what she dubbed as a 'major health scare'.

A feud with Bayley would do her good once she returns, and put the spotlight back on her in quick fashion. It doesn't matter if Bayley still holds the title at that point, a short rivalry between her and Carmella would certainly end up propelling latter, courtesy Bayley being one of the hottest acts on the main roster following her heel turn.

#4 Candice LeRae

LeRae is one of the biggest babyfaces down in developmental. She came to NXT back in 2017, and despite not being promoted as a serious NXT Women's title contender, she stayed in the limelight thanks to her involvement in one of the biggest rivalries in NXT history: Johnny Gargano vs Tommaso Ciampa. Recently, LeRae got into a feud with her former friend Io Shirai, after the latter snapped following her defeat against Shayna Baszler and attacked LeRae.

WWE could give a good rub to LeRae by putting her in a short-lived feud against a heel Bayley. It could be an interesting rivalry, as LeRae is someone Bayley used to be and it would be like Bayley battling her innocent self of the past.

#3 Dana Brooke

It was reported a while ago that Dana Brooke is the hardest worker in WWE, and tries her best to get noticed by the top brass. Brooke showed some promise in her very short feud against Ronda Rousey on the road to WrestleMania, which ended with a squash. Recently, Brooke was busted open in a match against Sarah Logan on Main Event. The two recently teamed up on Main Event in a losing effort against The IIconics.

Brooke is someone who deserves at least a short run in the main event scene. With the Wild Card rule still not completely removed, why not utilize this situation and give her a shot at Bayley?

The feud would end with Bayley coming on top, but will at least give Brooke to do something worthwhile for some time, and would be a nice break for her from her weekly exploits on Main Event.

#2 Becky Lynch

This match has to happen somewhere down the line. Bayley's heel turn took place the moment she let out an evil smile and hit Lynch with a chair, as Banks watched from a corner. Becky and Bayley have been champions for a while now, on their respective brands. Lynch isn't one who easily forgets.

Survivor Series is approaching, and the PPV is the battleground for Raw vs SmackDown Live contests. What if both Becky and Bayley manage to keep their respective belts on their shoulders when all is said and done at Clash of Champions, as well as at Hell in a Cell? This would possibly give us a big "Champion vs Champion" match between the two at Survivor Series.

#1 Asuka

Let's face it! The Kabuki Warriors isn't exactly working. When the duo was introduced by Paige, it seemed like this could give Auska something to do while being out of the Women's title picture. The team failed to win the Tag Team titles, and aren't doing anything much of note presently.

Maybe it's time for WWE to bring back the Asuka that reigned supreme down in NXT, and was a force to be reckoned with. A multi-woman #1 contenders match should do the trick here, with Asuka coming on top and challenging Bayley for the title (again, assuming Bayley leaves Clash of Champions as champion). Asuka has tons of potential, and it would be a shame to not capitalize on it.
