5 Potential finishes for Brock Lesnar vs. Rey Mysterio at Survivor Series 2019 (WWE Championship match)

Is it time for Mysterio to become the WWE Champion?
Is it time for Mysterio to become the WWE Champion?

If you hear about a David vs. Goliath clash, I wouldn't blame you if Rey Mysterio and Brock Lesnar come to mind almost at once. This is a match that pits an unstoppable monster against a man who doesn't quite size up to The Beast Incarnate but has a big heart that has always served him well through his legendary career.

And then, there is the 'No Holds Barred' stipulation from Paul Heyman that was made during the course of RAW this week. This is just a match that is impossible to call and one would assume that it could play out in a variety of ways at Survivor Series this weekend.

So with that in mind, I am going to illustrate 5 of the ways this match could end. I invite you, ladies and gentlemen, to please leave a comment and let me know how you believe this match could potentially conclude.

Also, in case you watched RAW this week, I invite you guys to please leave a comment right here.

#5 Rey Mysterio bludgeons Brock Lesnar, becomes the brand new WWE Champion

Let's get the most unrealistic possibility out of the way right up first. A foreign object or not, there is probably no way that WWE has Brock Lesnar lose in this fashion to Rey Mysterio. Victories over Brock Lesnar are a rare feat, and only a few like Seth Rollins ever get to achieve something this big!

Also, it just seems a little premature to take the title off Brock Lesnar at this point. But it is not out of the realm of possibility to have Rey Mysterio win the match clean with the lead pipe as has been portrayed on WWE television thus far. All said and done, don't count on this finish, ladies, and gentlemen.

#4 Cain Velasquez comes to help Rey Mysterio win

We all know that Cain Velasquez isn't at 100% at the moment but the fact of the matter is that he doesn't need to be if the plan is to just do a run-in for now. Maybe the big money match happens at WrestleMania when Velasquez is cleared to compete once again. The man just comes out to avenge his loss and beats up Brock Lesnar to such an extent that Rey Mysterio is able to pick up a big win. Velasquez still has a score to settle with Brock Lesnar and as a result, he helps his friend win!

Cain Velasquez is still a very big crossover name and the fact that he has transitioned in such a manner to the world of WWE will certainly draw a lot of fans to sports entertainment. In fact, in the absence of Ronda Rousey, he is probably the biggest crossover name in the WWE roster at the moment, because Brock Lesnar is generally considered to be someone from the wrestling world to transitioned to the world of Mixed Martial Arts. Even a small run-in will still make headlines, truth be told.

#3 Cain Velasquez betrays Rey Mysterio

This is a possibility that I raised in another article that I did recently, about betrayals that could happen at Survivor Series. If Cain Velasquez does return during the Rey Mysterio vs. Brock Lesnar match, he could always return as someone who turns his back on Rey Mysterio.

This would make all the sense in the world because it would, in a sense, allow him to work with someone like Rey Mysterio, someone who seems like a mentor to the man in the world of wrestling, in a vast number of ways. As passionate as Cain Velasquez may be about pro wrestling, it takes a lot of time, effort, and commitment to be a legitimate Superstar.

I don't think that wrestling fans can even buy into the idea of Cain Velasquez as a babyface because while he's certainly a very good human being as numerous accounts prove, they just haven't had the same kind of exposure to the man as, say, a UFC fan has! So, a heel Cain Velasquez may just connect better with the WWE Universe.

What do you guys think?

#2 Brock Lesnar wins the match despite all odds

Brock Lesnar made a name for himself not only in the world of WWE but also in the unscripted world of MMA. And this happened because he is truly the real deal. He has been portrayed as such by Vince McMahon and WWE as well, over the years, which is why he is such a top star to this very day!

The point I'm trying to make is that Rey Mysterio can bring all the foreign objects in the world to the match and his own son can come to try and give his father the advantage. But all said and done, Brock Lesnar is The Beast Incarnate for a reason! Whether it is with the help of his trusty advocate or all by his lonesome, I fully expect Brock Lesnar to triumph!

With all due respect to Rey Mysterio, if you consider the way that he's been booked thus far, I don't really see him as the WWE Champion in the year 2019, to be quite honest. Someone like McIntyre can then take Lesnar down when WrestleMania 36 comes around.

#1 Dio Maddin makes a surprise return, helps Mysterio win the match

This week on RAW, we saw Samoa Joe at the announcer's booth. And that happened because his predecessor, Dio Maddin had been brutalized, victimized and conquered by The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar.

So could we potentially see Maddin bringing this storyline full circle by interfering during the course of the match and destroying The Beast Incarnate to prove that he is a lot more than just a mere announcer considering he can do so much more?! In case you didn't know already, Dio Maddin is a professional wrestler and in fact, he was trained by none other than Booker T.

I'm guessing that with Samoa Joe at the commentary desk and with him doing the great job that he did on RAW, there will not be a job waiting for Dio Maddin when he's (kayfabe) cleared to return from his injury. So, maybe he can join the RAW roster as a professional wrestler instead!

And what a way to make a first impression than having Rey Mysterio win the WWE Championship as a result of your interference?
