A few big matches are scheduled for the first-ever WWE Day 1 pay-per-view. Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns are ready to headline another big WWE event.

The two top superstars will compete for the Universal Championship on the big stage. Reigns has had The Bloodline behind him for most of his Universal Championship run. However, he recently fired Paul Heyman on WWE SmackDown.

Meanwhile, Lesnar will continue to compete without a manager at Day 1. Things could take a major turn at the event, and a top superstar could return to make things much more interesting.

With that in mind, take a look at the five potential finishes to the match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar for the Universal title at WWE Day 1.

#5. Goldberg returns to destroy Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar at WWE Day 1

The match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will arguably be the biggest contest at WWE Day 1. The chances of interference will be extremely high, considering that the Universal Championship will be on the line.

Goldberg will be among the top superstars who will be very interested in the clash on Saturday night. He could end up being backstage for the pay-per-view to help WWE protect both men in the finish.

Goldberg could come out during the contest's final moments and attack both men to cause a disqualification. The superstar still has one more match left in his WWE contract, and the creative team could plant the seeds for it at Day 1.

In a recent interview, Goldberg revealed that he needed shoulder surgery but was waiting for Vince McMahon to call him for his final match.

"I felt pretty good. I won't tell everybody on national radio or television that my shoulder has been destroyed for the last three years, five years, eight years, and I need surgery. I'll get it when I'm done; I'll get it when I'm finished. If Vince [McMahon] calls me tomorrow morning and says, 'Goldberg, we need you in a month.' What am I going to do if I get surgery? I'll get it done when it's time," Goldberg said.

Vince may call upon the WWE legend to do the job at Day 1 and finally begin his rivalry with Roman Reigns. The two could end up meeting at the 2022 Royal Rumble for the Universal Championship, where The Tribal Chief could retire the Hall of Famer.

#4. Paul Heyman reunites with Roman Reigns to help him win at WWE Day 1

Roman Reigns fired Paul Heyman just weeks before WWE Day 1. The two men had a great run together, but it looks like The Tribal Chief doesn't require The Wise Man's services anymore.

Reigns will walk out for his Universal Championship match without Heyman at Day 1. Meanwhile, it's likely Brock Lesnar won't have the latter by his side either at the event.

WWE could look to pull off a swerve at the event and allow Heyman to come to The Tribal Chief's aid at a crucial moment.

Heyman could come out and throw in the Universal Championship for Reigns to use during the contest to help him win at Day 1. By doing so, he would win back The Tribal Chief's trust.

Reigns and Paul Heyman have worked exceptionally well together for over a year now. WWE could bring the two back together to build another top storyline for Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.

#3. The Usos help Roman Reigns retain his title at WWE Day 1

Roman Reigns will be without Paul Heyman at WWE Day 1. However, his cousin The Usos will be by his side at the event. They will defend their SmackDown Tag Team Championships earlier in the night at Day 1.

Jimmy and Jey could remain backstage for the Universal Championship match but come out at a crucial point. The Usos have always helped The Head of the Table during his big matches.

The brothers could end up doing the same this time, especially if they lose the SmackDown Tag Team Championships earlier in the show. The Tribal Chief has already expressed displeasure at Jimmy and Jey’s constant failure during big matches.

The Usos could prove their worth to Reigns by helping him take down Brock Lesnar and retain his Universal Championship. It would be the perfect way for WWE to book another successful title defense for Reigns without chipping away at The Beast Incarnate’s value.

#2. Paul Heyman joins Brock Lesnar to help him win at WWE Day 1

Paul Heyman might have to sit out the contest between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns at WWE Day 1. It would be odd to see Lesnar and Reigns compete in the ring without the Wise Man at ringside.

However, Heyman will likely play a major role in the outcome of the Universal Championship match. He was fired by Roman Reigns on WWE SmackDown, and Lesnar came out to save him from assault.

While Lesnar and Heyman did not reunite on the show, The Advocate could decide to join his best friend once again. WWE could allow him to come out during the contest and pretend to help Reigns pick up the win. He then gets back at The Tribal Chief by tricking him and helping Lesnar hit the final F-5.

The outcome would allow the most well-known duo in sports entertainment to get back together at Day 1. It would also force Reigns to return to the drawing board for the first time since his return to SmackDown.

#1. Drew McIntyre comes out after Roman Reigns retains at WWE Day 1

Unlike Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre does not have a crucial match at WWE Day 1. He kicked off his year as the WWE Champion and held the title until mid-February.

At Day 1, McIntyre will face Madcap Moss in one of the least anticipated matches of the show. The Scottish Psychopath deserves to remain at the top of the card and force his way into the title picture at WWE Day 1.

After his win against Moss, McIntyre could sit back and wait until the Universal Championship match. He could wait until the final moments of the match to watch Reigns sneak another win over Lesnar.

McIntyre could then come out right after Reigns’ victory, confronting him to set up the next Universal Championship rivalry.

Inserting McIntyre into the scene at Day 1 would allow WWE to book a big championship match for the pay-per-view while keeping him out of the Royal Rumble match. The Tribal Chief will also need a new challenger for the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
