Will we finally see these two battle it out?

Strap in boys and girls, because Survivor Series is going to be a whole lot more interesting this year. It was announced during Crown Jewel that the traditional RAW vs. SmackDown PPV will now include NXT!

The WWE hasn't given out all the details on how this is going to work, but we can assume we'll see some triple threat matches featuring members from each brand. We might even get a mix of RAW vs. NXT, SmackDown vs. NXT, and some traditional RAW vs. SmackDown matches as well.

The other big question is how many NXT stars are going to take part? The next TakeOver is Nov. 23rd, which is the night before Survivor Series. We already know that most of the women will compete in War Games at TakeOver. That could make for a tough turnaround.

Let's assume though that everything is on the table and take a look at some potential match-ups.

#5 Matt Riddle vs. Goldberg

I am straight up willing this match to happen at this point. Last week I wrote an article about why the WWE Universe deserves to see these two throw down. With NXT now part of Survivor Series, it's the perfect opportunity to make this match a reality.

The heat between these two has been well documented. Matt Riddle has gone on the record numerous times about his disdain toward Goldberg, calling him dangerous in the ring. Which made me wonder if Riddle would ever square up the WWE Hall of Famer. Thankfully I got my answer this week. If given the opportunity, it would be all systems go for 'The Original Bro'.

Goldberg even planted the seeds for the Main Roster vs. NXT angle when he buried the entire yellow brand on the Blue Carpet Fox Premiere for SmackDown. Now Goldberg isn't assigned to any brand right now, but that could always change between now and Survivor Series.

The only question is... Is Matt Riddle next?

#4 The Mid-card Champions Triple Threat

A rivalry renewed?
A rivalry renewed?

Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura vs. United States Champion AJ Styles vs. North American Champion Roderick Strong

If this was just going to be Nakamura and Styles getting one more shot at each other, that would be enough to get me excited. Adding in Roderick Strong takes that excitement to a whole new level.

The North American Champion has history with Styles and Nakamura, having faced them both during his time with Ring of Honor. Things are vastly different nowadays,he thought of these three in the ring together at this stage in their careers, makes me really hope there are no random title changes ahead of the show this year.

#3 Non-traditional 5 on 5 on 5 Elimination Match

If they are going to add NXT into the mix, they might as well get crazy with it. Put 15 Superstars in the ring at the same time, and let them battle it out to the last man. Here's my best guess as to what the teams would look like:

Team RAW: Captain - Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Ricochet, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton

Team SmackDown: Captain - Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, Braun Strowman, The Miz, and Kofi Kingston

Team NXT: Captain - Finn Balor, Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Matt Riddle (If not wrestling Goldberg), and Kushida (if healthy enough for a return from a hairline wrist fracture)

Note: Velveteen Dream is out of action indefinitely with a back injury.

I'm not sure who I'd give the edge to, but can you image how fun it would be if these teams battled to a soul survivor?

#2 Women's Champions Triple Threat

Becky Lynch vs. Asuka may have to wait.
Becky Lynch vs. Asuka may have to wait.

RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch vs. SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley vs. NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler

To paraphrase Stone Cold Steve Austin, can I get a 'Hell Yea'? This match could arguably close the show. Both Becky Lynch and Shayna Baszler are on incredible rolls for their respective brands, and Bayley is in the middle of a career resurgence. All three women are at the top of their game, which should make for one heck of a match.

More importantly, this could finally be the catalyst for the long anticipated 4 Horsewomen vs. 4 Horsewomen match up. There's not enough time to do that match this year, especially with Ronda Rousey still on hiatus. Besides that match deserves a proper build. How about a full year?

I'd put Baszler over this year and lay the groundwork for the 4 on 4 Elimination Match at Survivor Series 2020.

#1 Men's Champions Triple Threat

The Fiend vs. Brock Lesnar and Adam Cole?
The Fiend vs. Brock Lesnar and Adam Cole?

WWE Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Universal Champion Bray Wyatt vs. NXT Champion Adam Cole

Poor Adam Cole. Don't get me wrong, the man is incredibly talented, but that is a lot of beef he'd have to deal with in this match up.

When the Fiend captured the Universal Championship at Crown Jewel it spared the WWE Universe another Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar match. Adding Adam Cole into the mix is an intriguing wrinkle. I'm not sure how he would mix in with these two, but I can't wait to potentially find out.

Sadly for Cole, he's most likely in this match to eat the pin. That way neither Lesnar or Wyatt looks bad in defeat. Both men can remain incredibly strong heading into WrestleMania season.
