5 Potential Opponents for Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt

They now hold the gold, but who'll challenge them next?
They now hold the gold, but who'll challenge them next?

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt were bitter enemies not very long ago. But then Wyatt fell into the Lake of Reincarnation in the Hardy Compound and a change came upon him. He became a babyface and aligned himself with Hardy. The two of them formed a formidable tag team unit, embarking on an 'Expedition of Gold'.

And then WWE put together the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia. Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt earned themselves a RAW Tag Team Championship shot by winning the Tag Team Eliminator. They would go on to defeat The Bar at Saudi Arabia to capture the championships.

Whatever your opinion of the two may really be, it is clear that they are over with fans and will have the entire division gunning for them. So who's next on the radar?

We pick 5 prospective challengers for the coveted championships!

#5 Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley

No, not you Roman.
No, not you Roman

Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley aren't a tag team in the purest sense of the word. However, if Strowman could win the titles with Nicholas, there's no reason he couldn't achieve the same with a monster like 'The Dominator' Bobby Lashley. The two men are even teaming up to take on Owens and Zayn for Backlash. Is this the plan, going ahead?

Believe it or not, Lashley has actually been a part of the 'Hardy Compound' stuff in the past. He took on Eddie Edwards at Total Nonstop Deletion. It would be very amusing indeed to see what Strowman can do in the Hardy Compound as well.

Also bear in mind that Strowman was once a member of the Wyatt Family. The dynamics of this particular feud would be very interesting.

#4 Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn

These two could be formidable opponents
These two could be formidable opponents

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt fall more on the Sports Entertainment end of the spectrum than most other superstars. There's nobody in WWE that could create more magic with them than Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Both of these men are great actors and it would be absolutely hilarious to see them interact with Wyatt and Hardy. The program could be a riot.

In our belief, Owens and Zayn haven't really found their footing since they arrived on RAW. They've always been booked in important matches but they haven't really had any programs to sink their teeth into. A feud with Wyatt and Hardy could be just what the doctor ordered for the dynamic duo.

The creativity for this program could be absolutely off the charts if WWE let these men run with the ball. Both parties could, in time, help elevate the other.

#3 The Revival

Could this be the feud that brings the classic 'Revival' back?
Could this be the feud that brings the classic 'Revival' back?

When Dash and Dawson were called up from NXT, they were put into a program with The New Day right off the bat. It seemed like they were both destined for great things. Unfortunately, an injury would play spoilsport and derail all their momentum for a little while. When they returned, they weren't nearly as hot as before.

Could a program with Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt be what revives the Revival? Put up the creativity of Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt against the in-ring IQ of The Revival and you have the formula for quite an interesting program.

#2 Ziggler and McIntyre

Will these two men be gunning for the tag team championships?
Will these two men be gunning for the RAW Tag Team Championships?

If you think about it, there are many similarities between all the four men who would be involved in this feud. They've all had their chances before and for whatever reason, fizzled out after initial success. Here are four men who would be committed to putting on a real show! They would do their best to make this program work.

Just think about it, folks! In storyline, Ziggler and McIntyre obviously have a chip on their shoulders and are determined to make their marks. What better way to do that than go for the RAW Tag Team Champions immediately?

The seriousness of Ziggler and McIntyre would be an interesting contrast to the strangeness of the Tag Team Champions. It would make for pretty interesting television indeed, in our opinion.

#1 Authors of Pain

Are Hardy and Wyatt mentioned in the Book of Pain?
Are Hardy and Wyatt mentioned in the Book of Pain?

And finally, it's time to talk about these two brutes. They were called up from NXT and since then, have seemed unstoppable. Akam and Rezar are two men that will obviously be positioned strongly by the company. They look like monsters and work like monsters.

The two youngsters could learn a thing or two from the veterans. With Paul Ellering gone, Hardy and Wyatt could carry the 'promo' end of a program with these two men. This may not be as exciting a feud as the others we've outlined, but it could certainly be on the cards.

Expect the Authors of Pain to demolish Hardy and Wyatt. They are the 'Braun Strowman' of the tag team division, at least in terms of the way they are booked.
