The Undertaker has the greatest WrestleMania streak and record in professional wrestling history. Taker is considered one of the greatest WWE Superstars ever due to his longevity and his performances at 'Mania.

The Phenom has a record of 24-2 at WrestleMania over the past three decades, having faced and beaten the likes of Jimmy Snuka, Diesel, Kane, Ric Flair, Randy Orton, Batista, Edge, CM Punk, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and John Cena, among many others.

Taker was noticeably absent at WrestleMania 35 due to his injuries and old age, with this being the first Mania he has missed in 19 years. Over the past year, The Deadman has made limited WWE appearances, with his most recent one being in a tag team match at the Extreme Rules event back in July, teaming up with Roman Reigns and defeating Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre.

The Undertaker will be 55 years old by the time WrestleMania 36 happens in April 2020 and the future WWE Hall of Famer might have only a few matches left in his iconic career. Let’s look at five potential opponents for The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36:

#1 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt

"The Fiend" Bray Wyatt holding up the WWE Universal Championship

The current WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt might be the perfect opponent for The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36.

Wyatt has resurrected his career with a new masked indestructible gimmick, where he calls himself The Fiend. He debuted this new look earlier this year and quickly rising to main event status, challenging Seth Rollins for the Universal Title.

The Fiend won the Universal Championship at WWE Crown Jewel in a Falls Count Anywhere Match, looking unstoppable in the process, defeating Rollins with the Mandible Claw and then Sister Abigail.

The Undertaker and 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt share many similar qualities, such as their mysterious and dark entrances, with both appearing after the lights go out.

The Fiend has yet to lose in a WWE ring, and taking out The Undertaker at the Grandest Stage of Them All would solidify him as the "New Face of Terror" for the years to come.

#2 Drew McIntyre

"The Scottish Psychopath" Drew McIntyre

Ever since Drew McIntyre returned to the WWE in 2018 after a four-year hiatus, The Scottish Psychopath has shown that he is ready for the main event scene, with an improved powerful physique and a devastating new finisher, the Claymore.

WWE officials weren’t the only ones who have taken notice, with Taker himself wanting to face McIntyre at next year's WrestleMania, according to reports earlier this year.

While McIntyre has not faced off against Taker in a one-on-one match since his WWE return, they were opponents in a tag team match at Extreme Rules earlier this year, which could turn out to be a precursor for their future WrestleMania match in 2020.

#3 Sting

"The Icon" Sting

Sting and The Undertaker are two of the most iconic wrestlers in history, but the fans have never seen them compete against one another in the wrestling ring. Both were on top of the wrestling world at the same time, in the 1990s and early 2000s. The only problem was that they were stars in rival wrestling promotions (Sting in WCW, and Taker in WWE).

Talks of this dream match began when Sting showed up in the WWE for the first time in 2014. Although his in-ring career with WWE lasted only one year, Sting did wrestle Triple H and Seth Rollins before retiring, after which he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016.

Recently, Sting revealed in an interview that Taker would be the only opponent he would come out of retirement for. Sting had been lobbying for a match against Taker at WrestleMania during his WWE run, but unfortunately, the timing was never right. Sting was quoted as saying:

“I mean, everyone knows who it would be. Taker, he’s the only guy I’d come out of retirement for now. No one else. We could just never get it together to make it happen. When I started talking to WWE he was booked with Brock and then I did the deal with Triple H and he had another feud going on at the time, so it was just one of those things we couldn’t make happen.”

#4 Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar was the first wrestler to defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania, ending the greatest streak in wrestling history.

The Streak had reached 21 consecutive victories for “The Deadman” before that fateful night at WrestleMania 30. Lesnar pinned Taker in a 25-minute match after three finishers, much to the shock and disappointment of wrestling fans around the world.

Since that match, The Beast has gone on to dominate in the WWE, winning five World Titles, and is the current WWE World Champion in his 8th Championship reign.

A WrestleMania rematch could be an interesting storyline, with Taker trying to avenge his first Mania loss. The Undertaker is reaching the twilight of his wrestling career, and only has a few matches left in him, so a possible stipulation that could be added to this bout would be a Title versus Career match, with Lesnar risking his WWE Championship, while Taker risks his WWE career.

#5 Braun Strowman

"The Monster Among Men" Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman is the biggest giant in the WWE, taking the mantle from The Big Show. Standing at 6-foot-8 and 385 pounds, The Monster Among Men has shown amazing athleticism for a large wrestler, and would pose a challenge to Taker if he ends up being his next WrestleMania opponent.

Strowman has shown vast improvement every year during his tenure in WWE, and while he has not won the World Title yet, he has been in the main event scene multiple times, feuding with the likes of Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns.

After his defeat to Rollins for the Universal Championship, Strowman has not had a clear direction in his WWE future. Strowman most recently feuded with Heavyweight Champion Boxer Tyson Fury at WWE Crown Jewel, losing that wrestling match by count-out.

A feud with The Undertaker might be what Strowman needs to get back on track. The last time that Taker has faced someone as big as him was at WrestleMania 9 against Giant Gonzalez.
