Seth Rollins has been acting like a heel lately. First, he beat Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship with a low blow, and then prevented getting cashed-in with the same move. It isn't a face thing to do, but Rollins is still doing it anyway.
This week on Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live, The Beastslayer found a new friend in the form of steel chairs. Whenever Corbin would announce who was going to be the special guest referee, Rollins would attack him.
In a way, it's a good thing. The WWE Universe is excited to know who will be the special guest referee during Seth Rollins vs Baron Corbin, though it's still not something that everybody is interested to know more about.

#5 He could turn heel soon
The most logical explanation would be that WWE is planning to turn Seth Rollins heel soon. At the moment, it doesn't make sense for him to be a villain, considering the fans love him, but WWE likes to shock us. Remember when they turned Dean Ambrose (now Jon Moxley) into a heel when nobody expected he would?
This could be another of Vince Mcmahon's plan that he would want to execute. Rollins had a great run as a heel Superstar, and it also proved to be his way to success. So it wouldn't be shocking if WWE turns him into a heel again. The fans would continue to love him as they do today.

#4 The only way he could beat Brock Lesnar
In the latest WWE NEWS, Brock Lesnar is one of those Superstars who doesn't lose often. He is the most protected wrestler in WWE today and all of his recent losses were due to a Superstar's distraction or an illegal move.
Even Roman Reigns couldn't beat Lesnar in his first try and when he did, it was because of Braun Strowman, who distracted Lesnar during his match. Seth Rollins defeated The Beast at WrestleMania 35 but he too didn't beat him clean. Rollins used a low-blow to pin Lesnar and take away his Universal Championship.
At Super ShowDown, he used the same move to prevent Lesnar from cashing-in his Money in the Bank contract. Then, he destroyed him with steel chairs and walked out with his Universal Championship. All of these things only indicate that Rollins can't stop Lesnar and Corbin) fairly, and it could be why he is using heelish ways to get the job done.
#3 He has no other choice
Apparently, what Seth Rollins is doing isn't all wrong because he doesn't have any other choice except hitting other Superstars with steel chairs or using low-blows. The circumstances are against Rollins, who is surrounded with multiple enemies.
Baron Corbin is already a heel Superstar, and since he can choose a special guest referee for his upcoming match, Rollins could easily lose his title. And he also knows that once Lesnar is on his way, it wouldn't be easy to stop him, which is why he might have used a low-blow.
This way Rollins could prevent others from taking advantage of him. At Stomping Grounds, Corbin is going to face him for the Universal Title, and since he hasn't revealed who is the special guest referee, Rollins has to do things carefully. Otherwise, Corbin (or Lesnar) could easily beat him for the title, which is not what he would want to happen.
#2 Vince McMahon wants Roman Reigns to be the face of WWE
It's not surprising that Vince McMahon is heavily invested in Roman Reigns. Since debuting on the main roster, The Big Dog has acted as a loyal employee to Vince, who also awarded him with multiple championship reigns and WrestleMania main events.
Last year, he got diagnosed with leukemia and missed several months of in-ring action. But now that Reigns has returned to WWE, it isn't surprising that Vince would want to push him again. Considering the fans are also behind him, it wouldn't be a problem.
However, Seth Rollins is seemingly the biggest babyface in WWE (after Becky Lynch) and it wouldn't allow Reigns to capture this spot. It could be why Vince may want to turn him to a heel and make the fans cheer The Big Dog, who is feuding with possibly the most hated Superstar, Shane McMahon.
#1 To get more over with the fans as a modern-day antihero
It's no longer the 1980s when wrestling was dependent on kayfabe. Back then, WWE was all about heels and faces. There were no social media and the internet wasn't popular enough to reveal the secrets of pro-wrestling.
It is why a majority of fans believed that heels are bad guys and faces are real heroes, which isn't true. Some of them also believed that wrestlers are enemies of each other and what we see on television (or in the arena) is 100 percent true.
However, things have changed a lot since then. WWE fans no longer follow the 'heel-face' rule. They know who deserves to be cheered and who doesn't. Many heel Superstars today get cheered by the fans, while some face wrestlers receive boos. Rollins is currently acting as an antihero which could be beneficial for him.
In 2018, Becky Lynch did similar things when she did heelish things but still got cheered by the fans. It resulted in her becoming the face of the women's division, and WWE may want it to happen with Rollins as well.
