Here are five reasons why Randy Orton winning against Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam is best for business. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and be sure to tell us if you think Orton should win the title at SummerSlam or not.

#5 Most developed character on the roster

Randy Orton is arguably the most dangerous he has ever been
Randy Orton is arguably the most dangerous he has ever been

Randy Orton is by far the most entertaining part of Monday Night Raw, and while some might see him as just another stepping stone for Drew McIntyre, he could be so much more than that. Maybe he could even be what helps Raw climb back up in the ratings and create organic excitement again.

In all honesty, watching Randy Orton re-live his legend killer gimmick is nothing short of must-watch television and fans are definitely enjoying it to some degree. Of course a lot of that probably has to do with the "anything can happen" nature of his attacks, but it's still grabbing attention like nothing else.

In the end, Orton is WWE's most successful character at the moment and they should definitely capitalize on it while they have the chance. At least that way, Orton can enjoy a nice title run, WWE can see an uptick in ratings, and this legend killer storyline can continue.

#4. Potential dream match with The Fiend

What if WWE is building up to Randy Orton versus The Fiend at Survivor Series.?

Not only would it be one of the most hyped up rematches of all time, it would also be a chance for WWE to really play off of Randy Orton's new persona. It might even go a long way in helping explain what changed in his mind and why he has turned against people.

Of course, for a masterpiece like this to occur, Orton and The Fiend would each have to win the respective titles of their brands, but that's not too much of a stretch. In fact, with The Fiend still in a feud with Braun Strowman, and Randy Orton challenging Drew McIntyre for the WWE title, the stars could really align on this one.

If nothing else, Orton being champion will have a lot of upside for WWE and the fact that they could involve The Fiend in it is even better. Furthermore, it falls in line with the idea of Bray Wyatt facing off against people from his past and showing their career in a different light, which could add another layer to Orton's new persona.

#3. Sets up Randy Orton versus Edge down the line

Randy Orton versus Edge part three. Who wins?
Randy Orton versus Edge part three. Who wins?

It's no secret that WWE wants to revisit Edge versus Randy Orton at some point, and recent rumor has it that Vince McMahon wants it to be for the WWE title. Interestingly enough, McMahon apparently wants to save this match for next year's WrestleMania, which would mean a very lengthy title reign for Orton.

Orton versus Edge part three deserves a marquee venue like WrestleMania 37, and putting the title on Orton could be a very good start to that. In fact, it could result in one of the most cathartic moments in WWE history and give Edge a title run that fans never thought would happen a few months ago.

In all honesty, Orton is one of the biggest figures in WWE right now and he's a big reason why fans are watching. Beyond that, his theme of brutalizing legends and going on unhinged attacks has made for great television, which is why WWE should put the title on him and build to Edge versus Orton.

#2. Protects Drew McIntyre in defeat

Drew McIntyre's reign as WWE Champion has to come to an end at some point, and Randy Orton would probably be the best person to lose to. Not only is that evident by how much heat Orton has right now, but also due to his status as a workhorse veteran.

If nothing else, Randy Orton has now seemingly taken over John Cena's role as the yardstick inWWE, which means that McIntyre would be heavily protected in defeat. Beyond that, it would open itself up to a series of rematches where McIntyre could get his momentum back at some point.

Again, McIntyre losing to Randy Orton would not hurt him at all, and could be a very good way to bookend his first title run. Sure, it might not be how fans want McIntyre's reign to end, especially after beating Brock Lesnar for the title, but the things this could set up far outweigh that minor aspect.

#1. Polarizing move

WWE fans would probably love to see Randy Orton as champion again.
WWE fans would probably love to see Randy Orton as champion again.

There are plenty of WWE fans that are loving what Randy Orton is doing right now. Maybe that has to do with the fact that he seems to be re-living his legend killer gimmick, or it could just be how many veterans he has taken out, but it continues to be must-watch television.

Again, there could be a multitude of reasons for that, but the point is that people are watching how the company is building Orton and speculating on whether he can defeat Drew McIntyre. That is the kind of polarizing debate WWE needs right now and they pretty much have all the pieces in place to create it.

WWE would be making a very wise decision to put the WWE title on Randy Orton at this year's SummerSlam pay-per-view. It might even be the one thing that the company could do that would legitimately shock their fanbase and leave them tuning in to see what happens next.
