5 Reasons why Seth Rollins claimed on RAW that Rey Mysterio is not Aalyah's father

Aalyah seemingly isn't the daughter of WWE star Rey Mysterio
Aalyah seemingly isn't the daughter of WWE star Rey Mysterio

After Seth Rollins defeated Dominik Mysterio in a steel cage last week on RAW, there was a belief that this was the end of the feud between the two men, especially since Rey Mysterio isn't cleared to return to the ring.

Rollins attacked Murphy after the win and it appeared as though the storyline would now focus on the relationship between The Monday Night Messiah and his disciple, but last night saw the storyline take a dramatic turn.

Seth Rollins called out the Mysterio family and while he initially claimed that Dominik was not Rey Mysterio's son, it was Aalyah that seemed to become the focus towards the end of the segment.

Rollins told the world that he had evidence that Aalyah wasn't a Mysterio, which could lead to an entire whirlwind of a storyline for a family that was once a strong unit.

In this article, we possible reason why why Seth Rollins claimed on RAW that Rey Mysterio isn't the father of Aalyah

#5. Seth Rollins wants Aalyah to join his as a disciple

Seth Rollins has recruited stars to his group over the past few months but he doesn't seem to have the best track record. Authors of Pain have now been released from the company, Austin Theory has been sent back to NXT and Murphy has become his occasional punchbag.

Perhaps Seth Rollins has decided that he wants to recruit a female to the group. After seeing how she reacted when Murphy was attacked last week, Rollins saw an opening. It could be that he is now going to use Murphy to lure her away from her family or allow her to make her own choice to join his group.

The backstage segment with Murphy last night seemed to show the two stars becoming closer and this could also be a major part of Rollins' overall plan.

#4. Seth Rollins wants to destroy the Mysterio family

Seth Rollins has been pushing the Mysterio family for a number of months; he injured Rey Mysterio's eye, hit Dominik with a kendo stick 30 times, and even turned his attention to Angie at one point.

Seth Rollins has made it his mission to destroy the Mysterio family on WWE TV. He has already defeated Dominik numerous times in front of his family, and he's the reason that Rey Mysterio only has one eye, but clearly, that's not enough for The Monday Night Messiah.

Rollins has made it his mission to rip this family apart one member at a time and it appears that this storyline could be aimed at, as Mysterio himself put it, the most "naive" member of the family.

As of now, Seth Rollins has only planted a seed with no evidence and it led to Aalyah storming off backstage. It's surprising what Rollins could be capable of when he puts his mind to it and right now, it looks like he wants to tear down the entire Mysterio family.

#3. Seth Rollins wants Dominik Mysterio to turn on his father and become his disciple

It feels as though Seth Rollins had a plan with the Mysterio family from the beginning. When he was able to get Mysterio out of the way and Dominik stepped up in his place, that would have been the perfect time to recruit him.

Of course, Mysterio didn't remain on the sidelines for long, which didn't give Rollins enough time to deliver any plan.

Perhaps breaking apart the Mysterio family in this way, making them question their very fiber, could break Dominik and Rey Mysterio apart as well. When Dominik no longer has his family firmly behind him, helping him move forward, he could turn to Rollins for some support and be pushed into a new kind of family.

Leaders like Seth Rollins are only able to prey on others when they are weak and have no options. Rollins needs to break Dominik all the way down to build him back up again. That way, he will be loyal to him for helping him through it, just like Murphy.

#2. Seth Rollins wants to introduce Aalyah to WWE Universe the same way Dominik was

Many members of the WWE Universe took to Twitter following Seth Rollins's announcement to vent about the fact that this storyline had already been done 15 years ago. Back then, Rey Mysterio was able to defeat Eddie Guerrero to retain the custody of his only son.

This was before the swerve with Seth Rollins was that it was actually about Aalyah. WWE has a habit of recycling storylines. Perhaps it was decided that since the initial story was a way to introduce Dominik to the WWE Universe, this could be Aalyah's introduction.

It would allow the 19-year-old to become a household name and to become part of what will obviously become a huge storyline on the company's flagship show. It's unknown if Aalyah wants to become an in-ring star like her father and brother, but this is an excellent way to integrate her into the wrestling world.

It would also allow her to break away from her family and even join Seth Rollins if there isn't a happy ending to the story.

#1. This will write Seth Rollins off WWE TV for paternity leave

Every now and then, WWE will push forward a deeply personal storyline that will take over the brand for a number of months. It appears that WWE wants Seth Rollins to be written off TV in style and this would be a fantastic way to do it.

If Murphy and Aalyah continue to get closer and it then turns out that Seth Rollins has been lying all the way through, this could lead to a massive match between Rollins and the members of the Mysterio family and Murphy would then turn on him as well.

It's unknown how long Rollins will be gone for, but if he is left with nothing to return for on WWE TV, he could take a few months away after the dust has settled on this storyline.

Since Rollins has only planted seeds, this feud could go on for months and with his fiance Becky Lynch due to give birth in December, it appears to be the perfect timeline for this storyline.
