5 Reasons Kane Should Not Wrestle Again

Kane would be better off not wrestling again

The man better known as Kane, Glenn Jacobs made his professional wrestling debut back in the year 1992. Since then, this giant of a man has impressed one and all the world over with his incredible physical prowess as well as his unquestionable mental fortitude.

Kane has won several accolades over the course of his legendary career, including the prestigious WWE Championship. However, in recent years, The Devil's Favorite Demon has become little more than a novelty act in the professional wrestling dominion.

While Father Time waits for no one, and Kane is certainly no exception to this cardinal rule, there have been several other rather unnoticed or less-discussed factors that have contributed towards the WWE Universe as well as pro-wrestling community as a whole souring on the prospect of watching this legend wrestle. Today, we are going to be looking at the 5 biggest reasons why Kane should not wrestle again...

#5 Mayoral Duties

Mayor Kane (right) has a little too much on his plate right now

Glenn Jacobs assumed the all-important post of Knox County's Mayor this September 1st, and has been quite busy with his political duties ever since. In fact, right from his days campaigning for the aforesaid post, Kane largely focused on his blossoming career in the world of politics rather than wrestle in the WWE ring.

Now, there's nothing wrong with that by any means, and we as fans ought to applaud Kane for him being the upstanding citizen and shining beacon of modern-day morality he's always been outside the ring. Notwithstanding, the fact remains that Kane has been a part-time WWE Superstar for a long time now...The problem though, doesn't really lie in him being a part-time performer in the world of sports-entertainment!

The biggest issue with Kane choosing to return to the WWE time and again despite being accorded the mountainous responsibilities which come along with the position of a Mayor, is that his sporadic returns to the ring may seriously hurt his career in politics. After all the efforts Glenn Jacobs has put into reaching the level of success he currently boasts in politics, it'd be a huge error if he messes up his political career by letting his constant WWE comebacks take precious time away from his job...

#4 Ring Rust

Ring rust generally leads to one too many botches

Firstly, I'd like to state that Kane deserves all the respect in the world not only for entertaining us over the past several years, but also for being one of the most thorough professionals in an industry where rowdy, unprofessional behavior is not uncommon. However, no performer -- be it in any art or sport -- is impervious to ring rust.

Ring rust affects anyone and everyone!

Despite having practiced his in-ring maneuvers hundreds of thousands of times, there's a huge difference between training and actually going out there to perform in front of the millions and millions of fans. In his most recent on-screen appearance, Kane noticeably struggled to execute even the most basic moves from his arsenal against Triple H and Shawn Michaels.

Ring rust is real, and is one of the biggest reasons behind Kane's lackluster performance at WWE Super Show-Down on October 6th...

#3 Physical limitations

Kane has been wrestling for a long time
Kane has been wrestling for a long time

Kane is 51 years of age, and a large majority of fans as well as pro-wrestling experts have for long been calling for The Big Red Machine to hang up the wrestling boots.

However, I strongly disagree that Kane's age has much to do behind him being better off stepping away from active in-ring competition. In fact, Kane is extremely fit and agile for a 51 year old man.

Notwithstanding, it's the big man's future which seems truly worrisome. If Kane continues to tax his body by taking bumps after a career which has already spanned about 26 years, he'd quite likely have to deal with bone, joints as well as brain damage issues which several other pro-wrestlers have faced over the years...It's better to stop wrestling, than risk permanent damage just to prolong your career a little bit more...

#2 The Devil's Favorite Demon character

Kane once was one of the most feared men in WWE
Kane once was one of the most feared men in WWE

When Glenn Jacobs re-debuted in the WWE as Kane back in 1997, the man almost immediately became one of the most feared men not only in WWE, but all of professional wrestling. In fact, despite engaging in several unnecessary comedic spots as well as goofy storylines over the years, Kane still has the wonderful ability to assert his intensity and make you take him seriously as a character.

However, with his recent part-time appearances which generally see him put over anyone and everyone -- eating pins left, right and center -- it only makes sense for the man to refrain from wrestling a match again. Kane is currently at risk of causing irreversible damage to his brand as well as the memories which fans hold in their hearts of The Devil's Favorite Demon...

#1 Sheer absurdity

Frankly speaking, professional wrestling is in fact based on fans adopting the approach whereby they swear by the suspension of disbelief. In simple words, the best way to enjoy pro-wrestling is to stop taking everything too seriously, and simply letting logic take a backseat as we enjoy the show.

Nevertheless, knowing that Glenn Jacobs -- the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee -- keeps returning to the WWE as Demon Kane, the entire situation just seems incredibly absurd! a one-off appearance by Corporate Kane, that too for a non-wrestling spot, could be passable.

However, you simply cannot expect Demon Kane to be taken seriously when the man is always making headlines for his work as the kindhearted Mayor of Knox County.

Kane deserves so much better than this, and he'd indeed be wise to not wrestle again. What do you feel Kane should choose to do -- wrestle or not wrestle again? Do provide us your feedback in the comments section below.
