Seth Rollins successfully defended the Universal Championship against Baron Corbin as part of his scheduled match in The Middle East, before he was attacked by the Lone Wolf and Brock Lesnar then made his way to the ring.
Lesnar looked like he was going to cash in his Money in the Bank contract before Paul Heyman fell through the ropes, distracted his client and allowed Rollins to deliver a low blow. This then led to Rollins nailing Lesnar with a number of chair shots that allowed him to escape from the ring with his championship.
Seth Rollins wasn't a hundred percent but he was still able to walk out with his championship around his waist but is this because WWE has much bigger plans when it comes to this scenario?
#5 WWE wants Seth Rollins to be built as an unbeatable force
Seth Rollins has managed to defeat Brock Lesnar in a one-on-one match and is one of the only stars in WWE who isn't scared of The Beast. In the absence of the company's main stars on Raw like Roman Reigns and John Cena the company obviously needs to push someone as the next big thing and that could be Seth Rollins.
The Architect was able to overcome two men to retain his championship in Jeddah despite the fact that he had taped ribs throughout the match and the company made it clear that he wasn't one hundred percent heading into the show.
The Universal Championship has been passed around a lot over the past few years, so if Rollins is able to have a lengthy reign then it would definitely bring some credibility to one of the company's newest championships.
#4 Baron Corbin will get a rematch
In the latest WWE NEWS, it's highly unlikely that Baron Corbin was looking to help Brock Lesnar when he attacked Seth Rollins following their match. After all, Corbin only has to defeat Seth Rollins to become champion at present, but if Lesnar had been able to reclaim his title then he would have had to challenge The Beast, which is a much bigger task.
Rollins was able to defeat Corbin with following a distraction from referee John Cone, who Corbin had been abusing throughout the match. The fact that there was a referee angle means that Corbin could easily ask for a rematch because it was unfair that he lost the match. If Lesnar isn't around in the build-up to Stomping Grounds over the next few weeks then it would make sense for Corbin to be the man challenging Rollins for the Championship.
#3 WWE is literally booking as they go
There have been so many rumors regarding Brock Lesnar and the Money in the Bank contract over the past few weeks, which claim that Lesnar was supposed to cash in last week and then again tonight but obviously Rollins managed to foil his plan tonight in Jeddah.
The last few weeks on Raw have shown that WWE has no idea what they are doing with their biggest Championship picture so it could have carried on in Saudi Arabia. The length of Brock Lesnar's contract with the company right now is unknown whilst there are a number of options for The Beast since he's also laid claim to the WWE Championship, so announcing that he will cash in his contract ahead of time as a heel makes no sense anyway.
WWE has really messed up this storyline.
#2 Brock Lesnar vs Seth Rollins at SummerSlam
Brock Lesnar has made a career out of main eventing SummerSlam and given the beating that Rollins gave to The Beast when he tried to cash in his contract in Saudi Arabia, it's likely that Lesnar will take a short break from the ring in the near future so that he can return and challenge Rollins at SummerSlam.
It could well be a stipulated match since both men have given each other a beating with a steel chair, so if this is SummerSlam's main event then it could be contested under no-disqualification rules.
The Money in the Bank contract will be in Lesnar's back pocket for the next year, which means that regardless of how many times Rollins fights back, The Beast will always have a reason to keep on pushing for a match with The Architect.
#1 Paul Heyman/Brock Lesnar split?
Seth Rollins was ripe for The Beast to attack until he was distracted by his own advocate and Rollins was able to pick himself back up and low blow Brock Lesnar. Paul Heyman looked as though he intended to fall through the ropes and could be the downfall of Lesnar if this continues.
Heyman announced on Social Media that Brock Lesnar would cash in without Lesnar's permission and now he's cost him the chance to cash in his contract, how long until Heyman costs him his case and The Beast finally turns on him? It looks like this is what WWE is waiting to set up so that Heyman can bring in a new Heyman Guy like Matt Riddle to step in and fight Brock Lesnar on his behalf.
This would take Lesnar out of the title picture and would allow Rollins to move forward into a new feud.
