It’s strange that we live in a time when fans see John Cena on the silver screen more than in the squared circle. The WWE Universe has gone from wanting the Cenation leader to stop hogging the spotlight to craving his presence. With the passing of time, things have come full circle from CenaNuff to when will he come back?

John Cena is arguably the greatest WWE superstar of all time. With several titles, Wrestlemania main events, and close to 14 years at the top of the professional wrestling business, not many men can compare with the 42-year-old’s achievements.

Cena was Vince McMahon’s go-to guy when the WWE CEO had to usher in a PG era. As the company heads into a new era on Fox, Cena might just need to be McMahon's go to guy once again.

His name now holds weight in the wrestling and mainstream world, meaning it’s only right we get one more John Cena world title run.

Here are 5 reasons why there needs to be one more John Cena world title run.

#5 Still the most polarizing

There hasn't been a figure in WWE history that has garnered a more polarizing reaction than John Cena. The 16-time world champion has split arenas across the world, often generating the loudest crowd reactions of the night. Whether you were "Let’s go Cena" or "Cena sucks," it was pure entertainment every time 'The Face That Runs The Place' entered the squared circle. The only person that’s come close to such energy is Roman Reigns, but recently we haven’t experienced that same electricity.

A John Cena return breathes new life into the roster, as he is the epitome of a WWE Superstar. Cena is the standard-bearer for the last decade. Just his mere presence would give every WWE Superstar a huge lift. There’s a certain star power that the Cenation leader brings and in front of sold out crowds that can not decide whether they love him or hate him, there’s no better TV around.

#4 Boost Fox ratings

WWE has made every effort in the world to ensure their move to Fox is the biggest TV debut around. The higher-ups have done their best to ensure that the Blue Brand is now seen as an equal to Monday Night RAW. If equality is what the WWE powers that be are interested in, then John Cena is much needed on Friday nights.

What better way to usher in a new era on Fox than to have the most famous name in wrestling history as the brand’s champion. John Cena is the perfect man to help introduce Fox viewers who might not be familiar with WWE programming to wrestling. Cena is a star with crossover appeal, and would help establish WWE’s footing on a new platform. After a title run, Cena could build up another Superstar and inevitably drop the championship. Such a move would only make another star in the process.

#3 Hollywood Audience

Let’s be clear, John Cena is now officially a box office draw. He’s not only a WWE Superstar, but he’s also a Hollywood mega star. When Cena first went into acting, many thought he wouldn’t appear in more than a few small-time comedy cameos. Instead, the 42-year-old has entered a new world of stardom at the box office. His co-lead role in the latest Transformers film has solidified him as big business. This was further verified by Vin Diesel personally choosing him for the next Fast & Furious film.

Nobody is saying that John Cena is on the same level as The Rock, but he definitely has a bigger fanbase now than he did before the acting. That’s why one more world title run would be of value to both parties. The run would bring all those Hollywood eyes to WWE programming while simultaneously allowing Cena to promote his upcoming films.

#2 Put over a young talent

Cena has always been a selfless top guy

One of the greatest aspects of John Cena’s legacy is that he used his last few years at the top to put over many younger talents. Names like Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and AJ Styles come to mind. He put them all over cleanly and elevated them to main event status. In a world title feud, John Cena’s star power could help WWE establish some of the company’s current brightest stars.

Lest we forget, Cena’s last title run was used to put Bray Wyatt over in the build-up to Wrestlemania 33. Cena’s 16th title reign literally lasted a mere two weeks before he dropped the title at Elimination Chamber. If that wasn’t enough, he put over Wyatt again the next night in a Triple Threat Match despite not even having to take the pinfall. In this current age, a Cena title run could be used to take the likes of Ricochet, Baron Corbin and even Kofi Kingston to the next level.

#1 To be solidified as the GOAT

As a 16-time world champion, no man has won more world championships than the Cenation leader. That’s rarefied territory that he only shares with Ric Flair, but to be solidified as the greatest of all time, Cena needs that precious seventeenth.

When fans hear the phrase 16-time world champion, they think of Ric Flair first before John Cena. There’s never been another top guy in history that’s worked as many dates or was as consistent as John Cena in his decade plus run at the top of the mountain.Taking his hard work and dedication into consideration, John Cena deserves better. Considering all he’s done for the company in both service and in furthering the brand, it’s only right he gets this special recognition by standing alone as a seventeen time world champion.
