If you missed this week's edition of Monday Night RAW, then you missed one huge heel turn.

During the show, the usually lovable Bayley turned to the dark side, aligning herself with her old friend Sasha Banks in a moment fans really didn't see coming.

Over the years, there have been good turns and bad turns, but perhaps the best turns are those that the fans didn't predict ahead of time.

These Superstars all turned for their own reasons, but left fans with their jaws dropped.

Here are five shocking WWE heel turns fans didn't see coming.

#5 Austin shakes hands with Satan himself

Austin's heel turn would see him align with his mosted hated foe, Mr McMahon at WrestleMania 17.

Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Without a doubt, one of the most iconic Superstars of all time, Austin joined the WWF in 1996, and quickly became one of the company's biggest stars.

Capturing the WWF title two years later, Austin would become the leader of the Attitude Era, but by 2001, had done it all in the company.

When WrestleMania X-Seven rolled around, Austin's third Royal Rumble win meant he had a rematch against then-champion The Rock, who Austin had defeated two years earlier to win the gold.

During the match, which was made No DQ at the last minute, it was Mr McMahon who made the difference, as it seemed the Boss was going to attack his old nemesis.

Instead, Austin was handed a chair by the Boss, and used it to level the Brahma Bull to pick up the win and the title.

Shaking hands with his most hated rival, Austin turned his back on countless fans, in an act nobody saw coming.

#4 Daddy's little girl becomes a Billion Dollar Princess

Stephanie would turn on her father to give her husband the win at Armageddon 1999.

Though Vince McMahon may have proven to be the difference-maker at WrestleMania 17 in 2001, he isn't the only member of the family to shake the WWE with a shocking heel turn.

When the then-face Vince found himself in a feud with Triple H in the summer of 1999, the Game proved he was ready to do anything to stick it to the Boss, even marrying his daughter Stephanie.

In an infamous Vegas chapel wedding, the Game married an asleep Stephanie, leading to a match between the Game and the Boss at Armageddon 1999.

During the match, Stephanie would attempt to strike her husband down, but wouldn't be able to, proving to be the only truly kind soul in the company.

What happened next shocked everyone, as after the Game defeated her father, Stephanie embraced her husband revealing the plan all along.

Payback for some of the wicked deeds Vince would put his daughter through earlier that year, Stephanie quickly became one of wrestling's most hated characters, after a truly shocking heel turns that nobody saw coming.

#3 The Prizefighter makes an impactful debut

The Canadian Prizefighter would demolish his very best friend shortly after his WWE debut.
The Canadian Prizefighter would demolish his very best friend shortly after his WWE debut.

Kevin Owens is one of WWE's most popular stars in 2019, but things weren't always this way.

When Owens joined the company in 2014, fans were excited, as the Canadian had built a reputation on the indies under his real name Kevin Steen.

Making his in-ring debut at NXT TakeOver in December that year, Owens showed just how dominant he was, much to the adoration of the crowd.

As if things couldn't be better for the fans, that show also saw Sami Zayn, Owens' real-life best friend finally capture the NXT Title from Adrian Neville, after threatening to leave the brand for good if he lost.

A highly emotional win for the Underdog from the Underground, Owens was the first to congratulate his pal, before things turned nasty.

Attacking his very best friend on the ramp, Owens showed just how wicked he was, and defended his actions by saying he wanted to be the NXT Champion for his family.

Meeting two months later, Owens would do exactly that, capturing the title and proving that titles are thicker than friendships.

#2 The Hugger reveals her true colours

The Hugger would attack RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch on the most recent episode of RAW.

The most recent heel turn in WWE, this one concerns someone who was one of the company's most naturally lovable stars: Bayley.

For years, fans sided with Bayley, a life-long wrestling fan who had worked hard to make her dream of being a WWE Superstar come true.

With this fan support, the Huggable One would capture the NXT Women's Championship in 2015, and in the years since would become the first Women's Grand Slam winner, holding the RAW, SmackDown and Women's Tag Team titles.

On this week's edition of Monday Night RAW though, Bayley gave in to her darker side, attacking RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch and aligning herself with long-time friend and nemesis Sasha Banks.

Fans will remember that it was the Boss and Hug Connection who became the very first WWE Women's Tag Team Champions earlier this year.

What Bayley's shocking heel turn means for her SmackDown Women's Title match against Charlotte Flair at Clash of Champions is unclear, though it seems the Huggable One isn't the same kind Superstars fans fell in love with.

#1 Rollins buys in

The Architect leveled his Shield brothers in 2014 with a steel chair.
The Architect leveled his Shield brothers in 2014 with a steel chair.

By June 2014, the Shield had done practically everything that they needed to do.

After debuting at Survivor Series 2012 in the aid of CM Punk, the group of Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns dominated the company for a year and a half, at one point holding both the United States and the WWE Tag Team Titles at the same time.

After turning face in early 2014, the hounds of justice would feud with the recently-reunited Evolution, flattening the group of Orton, Batista and Triple H twice on Pay Per View.

When Batista quit the WWE (for the second time) on the June 2, edition of Monday Night RAW, Triple H promised a Plan B, and delivered in a major way.

Though fans had considered a heel turn by one Shield member, many assumed it would be the Lunatic Fringe Ambrose, or even Reigns, WWE's project who was already hinting at a push.

Instead, it was the talented, beloved Rollins who did the deed, attacking his brethren with a steel chair, in a truly shocking act that would change all three men's careers.
