4 Superstars that could return at WWE Hell in a Cell 2019

WWE Hell in a Cell will air on October 6, 2019, just two days after SmackDown's debut on FOX. So far, WWE have booked only a handful of matches, but more matches for the PPV will be added in the days to come.

The show, which is one of two PPVs in the month of October, with the other being Crown Jewel on October 31, will probably have quite a few surprises going by the recent direction of RAW and SmackDown Live.

With the threat of AEW, who will air their first-ever TV show in the week leading up to Hell in a Cell, Vince McMahon's promotion will have to pull out all the stops in an attempt to make viewers tune into RAW and SmackDown.

WWE could perhaps have a few Superstars return for Hell in a Cell. Let's take a look at 4 Superstars that could return at WWE Hell in a Cell 2019:

#4 Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre has been off WWE television for the last few weeks due to an injury, with his last match coming over a month ago on RAW against Ricochet. We could perhaps see the Scottish Psychopath return to WWE television at Hell in a Cell, and take out a Superstar and begin a new feud.

McIntyre has not had a solid, long-term feud on WWE television for a while, and with PPVs coming thick and fast, WWE should put him in an interesting feud.

With a Saudi Arabia PPV coming up soon, we might see McIntyre have a singles feud with The Undertaker, who is set to make an appearance on SmackDown's debut on FOX. This would be a high-profile feud that fans have wanted for McIntyre to be in for a long time, and we could see this culminate in a match between the two at Crown Jewel.

McIntyre and The Undertaker have had a match recently, although it was a tag team encounter, where McIntyre teamed up with Shane McMahon to take on The Undertaker and Roman Reigns.

#3 Finn Balor

Finn Balor has had a spell away from the WWE, not due to injury, but to give himself and his character a break. The Irish Superstar got married recently and took some time off after SummerSlam, where he lost in a singles match against The Fiend in no time.

Recent reports have suggested that Balor could return to WWE soon, with him being advertised for WWE's Australian tour which takes place later this month.

At SummerSlam, before his loss to The Fiend, Balor was given an offer to join The OC - the trio of Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, and AJ Styles - which could see the former Universal Champion turn heel for the first time on the main roster.

Perhaps Balor makes a shocking return at Hell in a Cell and attacks a babyface Superstar, confirming his heel turn. WWE recently turned Bayley and Sasha Banks, who were much-loved Superstars, heel, which suggests that they would not hesitate to turn a popular Superstar like Balor as well.

#2 Sheamus

Another Irish Superstar who has been away from WWE for a really long time is Sheamus, whose last WWE appearance came in the week after WrestleMania 35.

The former WWE Champion had a concussion on the SmackDown after WrestleMania, which resulted in him staying away from the ring for a few months.

His tag team with Cesaro, The Bar, also ended when Cesaro was moved to RAW. Sheamus recently revealed that he wants to get back in the ring but he doesn't know what the future holds for him.

"I don't really know what the crack is. I'm still waiting. I'm just, again, enjoying my time," said Sheamus in a recent appearance on E&C's Pod Of Awesomeness.

A recent report by Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed that Sheamus had been cleared to wrestle and that he could return soon.

Could we maybe see Sheamus return, this time as a singles babyface and have, maybe, a mid-card run in the WWE?

#1 Triple H

This may be a surprising entry into this list, but it is possible that WWE Hall of Famer Triple H could return to the ring, this time as a wrestler and not the head of NXT.

Triple H may have a lot on his plate at the moment, with NXT's move over to Wednesday nights and airing on USA Network, going up against AEW's TV show. But, The Game could certainly have a segment at Hell in a Cell, which could perhaps set him up for a future match.

WWE's Crown Jewel PPV will be held in Saudi Arabia later this month, which could see the company bring back a few legends to the ring to add star power to the show.

Triple H has featured in all three Saudi Arabia PPVs so far - facing John Cena in a singles match at Greatest Royal Rumble; teaming up with Shawn Michaels to face Kane and The Undertaker in a tag team match; and, going one-on-one against Randy Orton earlier this year at Super Showdown.

So, it's quite possible that he makes an appearance at Hell in a Cell, and challenges his next opponent.
