5 Superstars that WWE could release next

WWE
WWE

After months of hearing about WWE performers asking for their releases and being denied, the company finally pulled the trigger, releasing Luke Harper, The Ascension, and Sin Cara. Despite these 4 releases, WWE's current roster is still way too full, and even if they are hesitant to release more stars, it has to happen because they are currently paying some people to do absolutely nothing.

It may be harsh to speculate on the future of a professional wrestler, but it's clear that WWE's roster needs to be thinned, and while some would like to see Kevin Owens, Cesaro and other former indie darlings back on the indies, that just won't happen. So without further ado, sit back and read along as we look to the next few weeks or months in WWE and predict 5 more performers that may be released by the company.

#5 Dana Brooke

Will Dana Brooke be next to go?
Will Dana Brooke be next to go?

This one may be the most controversial on the list because despite her shortcomings, Dana Brooke has a fantastic look, athleticism and plenty of potential, but she just hasn't put it all together yet. Brooke started in NXT several years ago, and despite flashing plenty of potential and improving immensely over the years, she just isn't as polished as other wrestlers on the roster, and it's unlikely that she will ever get to that stage.

Her online romance with Batista has been a highlight of the wrestling community in the past few weeks, but not even that is enough to save her, as the NXT roster is too stacked full of talent ready to take her spot. The Women's Division is more stacked than it's ever been, and while we believe Dana will be released soon, she has the potential to make some noise and return to WWE one day, but for now, she just needs more reps, and going to the independents will absolutely do that for her.

#4 Primo and Epico Colon

When researching this list, it came as a shock to me that Primo and Epico are still employed by WWE, as the duo have done absolutely nothing of note for a number of years now. They originally came to WWE to join their relative Carlito, to a fair bit of success in the Tag Team Division, but since 'Mr. Cool' left WWE, the duo have been struggling tremendously to find their footing.

They went on to become Los Matadores before becoming The Shining Stars and since that point, their careers have come to a complete standstill, doing nothing of note. It's unfortunate, because despite their less than unique look, these two are quite talented between the ropes, but WWE just couldn't quite find them anything interesting to do. With all the talented tag teams in the company, it's time for these guys to join The Ascension.

#3 Tamina

Tamina Snuka
Tamina Snuka

In WWE, your background and family means a lot, especially if they are WWE legends, but despite being the daughter of Jimmy 'SuperFly' Snuka, Tamina just doesn't have the ability to compete with today's elite class of female performers. Her size is certainly imposing, but she has been with WWE for a number of years now, and just hasn't been able to put it together, and seeing the talent waiting down in NXT, it's time to clear some room.

WWE have tried several times to align Tamina with another performer, but these pushes have always been stopped short, and it's time to just cut ties with her because success will never find her in WWE. We can't blame WWE for looking to push someone with a unique look and such physical stature as well as the pedigree, but it has just never worked, and it's time to open up that spot for someone else.

#2 No Way Jose

Will WWE finally say 'no way' to No Way Jose?
Will WWE finally say 'no way' to No Way Jose?

Brodus Clay, Adam Rose, Fandago... No Way Jose. WWE has insisted on the 'dancing guys' for a number of years now, and for the longest time, it just hasn't worked, so it's confusing as to why the company continue to push guys like this. His immediate push coming from NXT made it seem like he had plenty of potential to be a mid-card Champion, but since that point, he's done absolutely nothing.

Like plenty of people, Jose has struggled to get screen time, as WWE seem intent on using only half of its roster (if that) and unfortunately, the former NXT performer is a big victim of that. It would be tough to see Jose being a big star away from WWE, but he has the potential to reinvent himself and make a decent living, but unfortunately for him, he just doesn't fit in among elite level performers such as Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, Ricochet and so many more.

#1 Titus O'Neil

Titus O'Neil

Titus O'Neil has been with WWE for quite some time, but unfortunately, since the release of Darren Young, the only entertaining thing he's done has been slipping on the way to the ring at the Greatest Royal Rumble. Sure, Titus Worldwide had potential, but WWE didn't capitalize on the momentum that they gained and as of late, O'Neill has done absolutely nothing to separate himself from the rest of the roster.

Early on in his career, it was clear that Titus had plenty of potential, but with so little charisma and average in-ring work, there was just no chance for him given the rest of the elite level talent that makes up the WWE roster. Credit where it's due, however, as Titus is a fantastic role-model and father, and he's been a credit to WWE away from the screen, but ultimately, you need to produce on RAW or SmackDown Live, and O'Neill just hasn't done that.
