Sami Zayn is arguably one of the most complete Superstars in WWE today. Even though he is not a giant or has a lot of muscle to show off, he is extremely skilled between the squared circle and has the charisma to play any character to perfection.
Zayn has formed a stable on SmackDown and has been leading Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro whilst being their mouthpiece. Nakamura was the former Intercontinental Champion, and now Zayn holds the title and seems unstoppable as he has two talented men to protect him.
While the stable already has three members, there is always room for more and we could watch Zayn grow even more power-hungry and try to recruit some more Superstars in the coming months.
In this article, we will look at the five Superstars who could join The Critic of Critics in his current expeditions and help him take over the Blue brand.
#5 Bo Dallas
Former NXT Champion Bo Dallas had a great time initially when he made his main roster debut after being successful in NXT but failed to gather sufficient momentum.
Before we knew it, Dallas started working with The Miz and slowly became an enhancement talent. From there on, along with Curtis Axel, Dallas created The B-Team that was a great comic relief on RAW and the duo even went on to win the RAW Tag Team Championships.
After losing the titles, the two men became enhancement talent once again and were barely used on television.
Recently, Dallas posted a message through his Twitter account that he is on a life-changing expedition, and that we’d see a new version of him sooner rather than later.
With that in mind, we could watch Sami Zayn recruit the former NXT Champion to his faction and make it even stronger, allowing Bo a chance to reinvent himself and get back on a winning spree that can help him gain a better footing on the main roster.
#4 Apollo Crews
Apollo Crews enjoyed his time with Titus O'Neil but started getting more successful after he left the faction. The super-athletic Superstar is one of the fittest men in the company and at one point it seemed like the creatives were starting to believe in him more and give him a push.
However, the push never really came and he remained stuck in the lower-mid cards where he largely fought as an enhancement talent. Upon the return of former WWE Champion Sheamus, Apollo was put in the spotlight once again but only to take losses from the returning Superstar.
In recent weeks, Apollo has shown traits of turning heel while working alongside Chad Gable. Sami Zayn’s faction is competing against Daniel Bryan and Drew Gulak at the moment, and The Planet’s Champion has shown interest in recruiting Gable to his stable.
If that turns out to be the case, we could watch Zayn and his crew convince Apollo to turn heel and join their faction to stack up the odds against Bryan and his men once again.
Apollo could use some help and a push, and Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cesaro could help him get back up on his feet.
#3 Dana Brooke
Just like Apollo Crews, Dana Brooke too was once a part of Titus Worldwide. While Brooke simply assisted Titus O’Neil and Apollo to the ring and never got much in-ring action herself, things also got better for her once she left the faction.
Even though she continued to lose in matches, it was evident that Brooke had improved in the ring and even got some time in the ring with women like Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch.
Now on SmackDown, Brooke once again rose to prominence once her romance with Batista was highlighted by the two on social media, and WWE continued to use that as a storyline on television.
We have recently seen Brooke get some more matches on television, and she will even get a match at this year’s WrestleMania along with five other women with the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line.
If Brooke fails to win the title, we could watch Sami Zayn and his crew approach her backstage and take her under their wing in order to guide her and help her achieve much more on SmackDown.
Adding a female to the stable could make things more dynamic and interesting while allowing Brooke a chance to get more screentime and hopefully some better bookings.
#2 Mustafa Ali
Let’s not forget that Sami Zayn is leading a rather diverse group of individuals at the moment. Zayn himself is a Canadian born to Syrian parents, while his stablemate Shinsuke Nakamura is Japanese, while Cesaro is from Switzerland.
While it can be a coincidence that all three men are from such different backgrounds, Zayn may now try to recruit more diverse individuals in the near future.
One man who was under the spotlight no more than a year ago but fell down the ranks and off television very quickly is none other than Mustafa Ali. Born to parents hailing from Pakistan and India, the US-born Superstar is trying to find his way back to television.
Ali has posted several cryptic messages on Twitter and has been waiting to return to the SmackDown ring again for some time.
While Ali was playing a great babyface character before he disappeared off television after taking on The Revival along with Chad Gable on the December 13, 2019, episode of SmackDown, we could watch him grow bitter and become a heel.
If the creatives do take that route for the Superstar, it could be a good idea to have him align with Zayn, Nakamura, and Cesaro as they can help him get some bookings and get back in the game.
If Ali turns back to a babyface, later on, it will be great to watch him take on men like Nakamura, Cesaro, and potentially Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship.
#1 Lars Sullivan
There were a lot of hopes attached to Lars Sullivan when he made his main roster debut and was allowed to appear on both RAW and SmackDown to crush other Superstars and prove his dominance.
After attacking The Hardy Boyz and injuring Jeff Hardy, Sullivan was stuck in a rivalry with The Lucha House Party for some time. However, he suffered a knee injury that required surgery and forced him to stay out of action for at least six to nine months.
Sullivan has been out of action since June 2019, and one can hope that he will return sooner than later before the fans forget him completely.
While there is no confirmed news on when Lars is expected back, he could return very soon once his rehab is completed. In that case, we could watch the heel Sami Zayn bring his back as the muscle of his stable and use him to run through his challengers and other big men such as Braun Strowman and Sheamus.
It’ll be great to watch someone like Lars work under a comedic heel and try to fit in before lashing out and turning against Zayn to set up a major rivalry.
