5 Superstars who WWE should have pushed when the moment was right

Many Superstars have been denied a major push in recent times

During the past few years, WWE has seen the rise of many superstars. While few of them are still at the top of the mountain, many of them are no more in the same limelight.

Their pushes were derailed either due to backstage politics or due to WWE thinking the moment just wasn't right.

However, as time turned out to be, those moments could have been the defining moment of these superstars career.

Here we look at five Superstars who just were denied the major push when they were at the peak of their career.

#5 Cesaro

<p>
Cesaro is a one-time United States Champion and five-time WWE Tag Team Champion

Cesaro without a shadow of a doubt is the most consistent performer in the WWE since last seven years or so.

When Cesaro won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania XXX, it seemed The Swiss Cyborg will finally get his main event push.

The Cesaro Section was in full flow the following night as he was teamed with Paul Heyman. While this certainly meant bigger things for him, it turned out to be completely opposite.

Lack of proper feuds and Heyman bragging about Lesnar's accomplishments did Cesaro no good.

As a result, Cesaro was back to the mid-card. Cesaro then began a feud with Sheamus which would eventually lead them to form a tag team, now known as The Bar.

While the duo won the WWE Tag Team Championship four times, Cesaro definitely deserved bigger things.

#4 Damien Sandow

Damien Sandow became the second wrestler to unsuccessfully cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase

Damien Sandow, on his debut on the main roster, showed incredible mic skills.

He knew how to work the crowd and interact with them. Sandow's major push came when he won the Money in the Bank 2013.

The briefcase meant a guaranteed title shot. Sandow did get his title shot but it was against John Cena.

In a very exciting match, the Cenation Leader came out on top defying all the odds, again. This was the last time Sandow was seen as a contender for the major title.

Sandow was then booked as Miz's stunt double. As ridiculous as the gimmick looks, Sandow still managed to pull it to perfection as he was the talking point of every event he was part of.

Despite winning the fans support, Mizdow was again underlooked by the creatives as after his stint as a stunt double was over, the creatives had no plans for him.

Sandow was released on May 6, 2016, resulting in a huge backlash on the social media. He would then try his luck in the Independent circuit and even in the Impact Wrestling but could not quite make a mark.

#3 Rusev

"Rusev Day" T-shirts were the highest selling merchandise as of December 2017

Rusev has always been a captivating figure. Whether it was during his heel run as the Bulgarian Brute or because of his wife, Lana, Rusev has always had the crowd's attention.

However, his popularity reached a new level, when the term "RUSEV DAY" caught everyone's attention.

A larger than life figure outside the ring, Rusev's unparalleled support on the social media helped him get over the live crowd as well.

Despite him being one of the hottest wrestlers on the roster, the team of his and Aiden English never got the push they deserved.

Although Rusev's popularity is still at its peak, Rusev has barely got any favours from the creative team.

He has been booked in random matches, losing most of the time. Despite terrible booking, Rusev is still over with the crowd but no one knows how long the support will last.

#2 Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe is yet to win a title on the main roster

The Samoan Submission Machine is often labelled by many as the most believable threat to the Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar.

Joe brought the hype train when he signed with WWE. Although his rise to the top wasn't as quick as few before him, the slow build-up helped the casual fans know him.

Joe vs Lesnar was a dream match a lot before he even signed with WWE.

When Joe finally got a chance to challenge the Beast Incarnate, everyone knew they were up for a thrilling encounter.

The build-up to the match was nothing less than spectacular. However, at the Great Balls of Fire, Joe failed to beat Lesnar.

Joe's next major feud came against the members of the Shield. However, injuries would catch up with Joe in the later part of the year and one hopes he could continue from where he left.

#1 Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman looks to be on the mid-card of WrestleMania 34

Despite being the most talked about person in 2017, the Monster Among Men finds himself in the mid-card of Wrestlemania.

So, where did it go all wrong for Braun Strowman?

Strowman challenged for Lesnar's Universal Championship at Summerslam 2017 along with Roman Reigns and Joe.

In the match, Strowman 'Monster-handled' Lesnar.

This quickly led to a match between the two at No Mercy. Despite getting the better out of Lesnar multiple times, Lesnar defeated Strowman with ONE F5. This was probably Strowman's best chance of winning the title.

Although he did face Lesnar at Royal Rumble PPV along with Kane, everybody knew that there was no chance of him walking out as the champion.

At the Elimination Chamber PPV, Strowman would eliminate five Superstars but ultimately lost to Roman Reigns.

While there are few rumours that he might be added to the Universal Title match making it a Triple Threat, the most probable scenario is him being part of the mid-card.
