Rob Van Dam could have a great final WWE spell.
Rob Van Dam could have a great final WWE spell.

If you think April could be an evenful month for WWE, you're damn right. This is WrestleMania month and a lot of pieces could be set in stone. Mind you, maybe none of the surprises listed here will transpire in April. This is not an article based on inside knowledge of the business. This is a fantasy booking piece from a wrestling fan like you.

This is also a highly optimistic article because chances are that fans will want to see one or more of the scenarios listed here. Be sure to voice your opinion about which of these WWE surprises excite you in the comments below.

#5 WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam officially returns to the company

Just because RVD is going into the WWE Hall of Fame does not necessarily mean that he is ready to hang up his boots. RVD is still in great shape and if you caught his IMPACT Wrestling run, you would have noticed how he hasn't lost a step at all. RVD can mix it up with the current generation, many of whom cite him as an inspiration.

Whether it's against AJ Styles, or Edge, or even Drew McIntyre, RVD could make an instant splash after WrestleMania when he returns to the ring.

A stint in WWE could be the best way to end his career on a high.

RVD has little to prove to anyone after the career he's enjoyed in ECW, WWE and later, IMPACT Wrestling. Some might say that the modern, fast-paced style that we see in WWE was pioneered by RVD and trendsetters like him.

In an era when WWE cannot create new stars, bringing back a legend like RVD may be exactly what the doctor ordered.

#4 RETRIBUTION returns to WWE, this time under Shane McMahon

If you want to hear how former WWE head writer Vince Russo would book the angles we love to hate on RAW, please tune in and catch Writing with Russo on the Sportskeeda YouTube channel.

This week, he pitched a storyline where Shane McMahon is revealed as the leader of RETRIBUTION. You don't want to miss it. Subscribe to the channel for a lot of exclusive WWE content.

Is Shane McMahon leading a faction of giants such a bad idea? He was portrayed as Dabba Kato's manager not long ago and could definitely take RETRIBUTION to the next level.

Mustafa Ali is an incredible wrestler, but for all of his talent, he does not have the storied WWE legacy that Shane McMahon commands. An association with Shane McMahon could have lent an air of credibility to the faction that it so desperately sought.

So maybe at WrestleMania, when Braun Strowman believes he has McMahon's number, RETRIBUTION steps out and takes him down. What a surprise it would be!

#3 Great Khali leads an Indian faction, making a big WWE return

WWE put on a special show for Indian fans in January to celebrate Republic Day. One has to assume that there are bigger plans for the stars in the list, beyond an annual appearance at Superstar Spectacle. With The Great Khali returning to WWE to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, could we see him leading an Indian faction into battle?

Giant Zanjeer and Dilsher Shanky are two humongous men who could certainly fit snugly into such a faction. So could Indus Sher, Jinder Mahal, and even the Singh Brothers, making quite a formidable team. India is clearly an important market for WWE, as The Great Khali's induction proves, meaning that this could be a plan in the works.

IMPACT tried to capture the Indian market with the Desi Hit Squad, but with all due respect, WWE's reach is significantly bigger. Plus, Jinder Mahal has a bone to pick with Drew McIntyre, so this is certainly a road that the company can go down.

#2 Mia Yim enters the WWE RAW Women's Championship picture

One WWE Superstar who could benefit from RETRIBUTION being unmasked is Mia Yim, who went by the name RECKONING during her stint in the faction. As we've seen from her NXT stint, she's quite the talent. The RAW locker room could do with a dose of Yim after WrestleMania is over and done.

Whether it's a feud against Asuka or even Rhea Ripley, Mia Yim could certainly be a worthy opponent for whoever holds the WWE RAW Women's Championship. Let the fact that she's not been featured prominently on WWE television not distract you from how experienced she is.

Mia Yim is a great hand and once she's unmasked, she could also be unleashed. She is exactly what the WWE RAW roster really needs.

If Vince McMahon decides on a Superstar Shake-Up after WrestleMania, a Bianca Belair vs. Mia Yim feud may also not be the worst idea in the world. Every scenario benefits her and the company, except one where she returns to the faction again.

#1 Brock Lesnar returns on the episode of WWE RAW after WrestleMania

Chances are that Drew McIntyre will win back his WWE Championship from Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania this year. There's yet another possibility where MVP swerves the world and, through unscrupulous methods, assists Bobby Lashley in retaining his WWE Championship as well.

Whatever the case may be, the new WWE Champion could be confronted by Brock Lesnar on the RAW after WrestleMania 37. Brock Lesnar has unfinished business with Drew McIntyre and obviously, heavy rumors of a dream clash with Bobby Lashley have been doing the rounds for a while.

Brock Lesnar does not even need to show up until the SummerSlam build comes around. However, a dream match could be set in stone with a mere appearance on the RAW after WrestleMania, leaving fans drooling with excitement for the future.

In case you can think of more surprises for the upcoming month, do list them in the comments below. This could be the most exciting month when it comes to being a WWE fan.
