5 talents who should be signed by WWE

The great thing about professional wrestling is the different styles present in the industry. There are individuals who set themselves apart because of their work rate and their work ethic in the business.

It is often said that WWE doesn’t sign the independent wrestlers who are great workers, but with the recent string of signing of the indy darlings such as Tyler Black (Seth Rollins), Dean Ambrose, El Generico (Sami Zayn) and the likes, all of that has changed in the WWE.

With former independent wrestlers CM Punk and Daniel Bryan being the top faces in the company, the paradigm has certainly shifted in the landscape of the biggest wrestling organization in the world.

Saying that, WWE is also notorious for signing up good talent but hanging them high and dry before releasing them.

The perfect example for that would be Colt Cabana, who wrestled under the name of Scotty Goldman in the WWE.

Colt was only involved in a handful of matches and was unceremoniously released, much to the dismay of wrestling fans all over the world.

However, with the ideology changing in the company, there are five people that the WWE can sign, who will undoubtedly help their product going forward.

5. AJ Styles

AJ Styles

When it comes to TNA, the one man who epitomizes everything the company has been is AJ Styles. The “Phenomenal” one is one of the very few “TNA originals” still working for the company, and with the recent news about Styles being uninterested to sign a new long term deal with TNA leaves the door open for AJ to go to the “big league”, which is the WWE.

AJ had a few tryouts with the WWE before, but nothing ever worked out. Although AJ has agreed to yet another deal with TNA, it is reportedly a short term deal till both parties can come to an agreement.

There are people who won’t like AJ going to the WWE. With his mic skills not being his strong point, there is a good chance he’ll end up like Jamie Noble.

But Vince and WWE created magic with Daniel Bryan, and anything can happen. With AJ not being young anymore, he has relatively less time to make something out of himself in the WWE.

4. Alex Shelley

Alex Shelley

Alex Shelley is one of those performers who can be extremely charismatic while being top notch in the ring. Shelley has also worked for various independent promotions and in TNA, but was granted his release.

The former member of the Motor City Machine Guns can be an excellent singles competitor or a tag team specialist. There were reports last year that Shelley was close to signing a deal with the WWE, but that never happened.

With smaller guys like CM Punk and Daniel Bryan making it big in the WWE, there is a good chance that Shelley can make a name for himself in the big league.

He can also be the perfect replacement for someone like Evan Bourne, who hasn’t lived up to the expectations in the company. In the end, it will be a win-win situation for WWE and Shelley if they reach an agreement in the near future.

3. Kharma

Kharma

The former Awesome Kong is one of the best female wrestlers in professional wrestling, and was at the top of women’s division a couple of years ago, wrestling all around the world.

WWE immediately took interest in Kharma when she left TNA and signed her up, but with her getting pregnant, all the major plans they had for her were scratched and she was later released from the company.

Since WWE is once again serious about rejuvenating the Divas division, Kharma can be the perfect solution to legitimize the division. One has to believe that WWE will try to bring her back in the near future, but we can only wait and see if that happens.

2. Davey Richards

Davey Richards

When you talk about best pure wrestlers in the world, one name often comes up in North America. After the likes of Daniel Bryan, Davey Richards has become the new “indy darling”.

Davey is one of my personal favourites as well, as he has the looks and the tools to be an old-school heel while being a really good in-ring technician.

Davey Richards is currently signed to Ring of Honour, but with RoH willing to let the talents sign with WWE or TNA to elevate their careers, it is only a matter of time before WWE takes interest in Davey.

Along with the looks, Davey also has a big mouth, which can be of help sometimes, and bares striking similarities with a certain CM Punk in the WWE.

1. Kevin Steen

Kevin Steen

When you talk about “big men”, there is one guy who can dominate everyone in his path.

Kevin Steen is known for his athletic ability while not exactly being a cruiserweight (Similar to Samoa Joe). Steen is also one of the best heels professional wrestling has seen in recent times, with his anti-RoH angle being one of the best angles in RoH history.

Steen is also one of the very few performers who can excel in being a good guy or a bad guy. With age on his side, there is a good chance that he’ll soon end up in the WWE.
