5 things that should not happen at Roadblock: End of the Line

WWE has to avoid some stupid mistakes on Sunday night

The final pay-per-view of the year for WWE is coming up on Sunday night, and the event looks like it will be a solid show with unsurprising results. This means that WWE may try to toss a curveball at us and actually do some unexpected things.

If they do not do the expected, or if they make some changes in the title picture, it could severely hamper WWE Monday Night RAW going into 2017. A weak show with poor results would be a disastrous way to end what was a very good year for WWE pay-per-view events.

#5 Interference in the Women's Title match

These women have to go one-on-one, one last time

In what is likely to be their final match, Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair need to go out to that ring and spend 30 minutes doing what they do best -- wrestle. No outside interference, no surprise returns to cost somebody a fall, none of that. In the same vein, they should also avoid ref bumps and other compromising situations.

One-on-one, woman versus woman, they need to settle it in the ring once and for all with zero outside factors to account for.

#4 Roman Reigns becoming Universal Champion

Putting the belt back on the Big Dog would be a terrible turn of events

Reports are claiming that this might actually be the plan, and if so, it’s a bad one. Reigns has been carrying the United States Championship like it is a meaningless piece of hardware ever since he defeated Rusev in October at Hell in a Cell.

If he wins, Roman will be a double champion and his reign as US Champ will mean even lesser than it does right now.

On top of Roman’s weak title reign, it means that WWE would be starting another “Road to WrestleMania” with Roman Reigns either holding the title or directly chasing the belt, for the third straight year. There’s no reason to do that.

WWE has to pull back and pump the breaks on giving Reigns another chance at the main event so soon. The match on Sunday is fine, so long as he doesn’t win the title.

The US Title should have been a great proving ground for Roman with some fresh and exciting challengers, but it’s been a waste. WWE has a chance to right that wrong by not giving him the Universal Title at Roadblock.

#3 Charlotte winning the Women's title

Her time in the spotlight has to be over for now

This rivalry must end on Sunday night. Charlotte and Sasha have traded the title back and forth on multiple occasions. Sasha Banks is a three-time Women’s Champion and has held the belt for less than one month for each reign. The same will be the case if Charlotte ends her title run at Roadblock.

It would completely stall the division and bring everything back to where it was at the beginning of the summer, where Charlotte was the champion and things were wide open without many strong challengers ready to emerge.

The way to go with this match is keeping the title on Sasha Banks, even though it means finally having Charlotte suffer a defeat in a one-on-one match on PPV for the first time.

#2 Sami Zayn not lasting 10 minutes

Sami Zayn has a lot to prove at Roadblock

This entire rivalry has been built on Mick Foley trying to rile up Sami Zayn by telling him that he wasn’t good enough to defeat Braun Strowman. Even worse, he told him that he shouldn’t even be allowed in the ring with the monster, let alone not being able to beat him, in the first place.

If Zayn doesn’t last the 10 minutes that Foley has allotted for the match, it makes all of the unkind words that came out of Mick’s mouth true statements. Zayn isn’t good enough; he should never have entered the ring for a rematch with Strowman, and he’s just not somebody who should be taking on monumental challenges.

That would be terrible.

This is not to say that Sami needs to win the match, but if he can last 10 minutes in the ring without being defeated or too thoroughly decimated, it would be a positive outcome in this chapter of the rivalry.

#1 New Day losing the Tag Team titles

The New Day need to keep rocking for at least a little while longer

The New Day defended their titles in two different triple threat matches on Monday night, thus solidifying themselves as the longest reigning tag team champs in WWE history. For that to end on Sunday night, just six days later, with little-to-no build-up surrounding it, would be a gigantic shame and a huge error on WWE’s part.

There are rumours that the idea is indeed to give Sheamus & Cesaro the titles at the pay-per-view event.

While they have created a great tag team and definitely deserve to be champions sooner rather than later, Sunday night is far too early. The New Day’s reign still has some more life in it, especially if they turn full heel, which they have been teasing for the past few weeks.

If they lose the titles to Sheamus & Cesaro at the Royal Rumble, that’s fine, but only six days after winning two matches to tie the record, and one day after breaking the record? That would be a complete travesty.
