WWE Clash of Champions is almost here, and looking at the match-card, it looks like it's going to be a long show. Every title will be on the line at the PPV, so we can expect so to see a title change or two. Though the event is basically just filler, the card looks promising, to say the least, with 11 matches confirmed for the show.

On Sunday night, new champions will be crowned, feuds will be settled, while new ones will be ignited. A lot could go down at the PPV. While fans are always open to surprises, a lot of unexpected things could happen. WWE has surprised us multiple times in the past, and the event will turn out to be a memorable show if the company takes the right step.

That said, here are five things that could happen at WWE Clash of Champions.

#5 The Fiend makes a surprise appearance

The Fiend could surprisingly show up at the PPV

The last time the WWE Universe saw The Fiend was at SummerSlam, where he defeated Finn Balor. He had a non-televised match on SmackDown Live last week, but only the fans in attendance were fortunate enough to see him in action. The Fiend is the best thing in WWE right now, so being excluded from the PPV might not be the best option.

He could possibly show up at the event and interfere in the Universal Championship match between Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman or he could attack the winner of the match. According to reports, The Fiend is going to face either Rollins or Strowman at Hell in a Cell, so this will be the perfect way to set up the match.

#4 Daniel Bryan costs Erick Rowan his match against Roman Reigns

The Big Dog Roman Reigns and Erick Rowan will go to war at Clash of Champions in a No Disqualification match. After it was revealed that the former Wyatt Family member was the man behind the scaffolding incident that nearly ended Reigns’ career as well as trying to run over the latter with a car, Rowan laid waste to The Big Dog and even sent Daniel Bryan crashing through the announce table.

Since this will be a No-DQ match, anything goes, and perhaps we could see the former Planet’s Champion interfere in the match and attack Rowan, allowing Reigns to capitalize and gain the advantage over Rowan.

This will allow Roman to get the win and continue the storyline. Bryan is a former WWE Champion, so WWE might not let one of their biggest stars miss the PPV. Rowan lied to Bryan and betrayed him, so the latter will obviously want retribution.

#3 Randy Orton becomes a 14-time WWE World Champion

Will The Viper defeat Kingston to become a 10-time WWE Champion and 14-time World Champion overall?

Randy Orton will collide with his old nemesis Kofi Kingston on Sunday for SmackDown Live's biggest prize - the WWE Championship. Orton has held the title nine times, and at Clash of Champions, he could extend it to ten. The Viper is one of the biggest Superstars in WWE right now, and with the blue brand moving to FOX, he is the best option to carry the brand.

After 11 long years, Kingston's dream of becoming WWE Champion became a reality after he defeated Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35 to capture the gold. However, Randy Orton needs to return to the title picture. The last time he held the WWE title was in 2017. Kingston's reign as WWE Champion hasn't been very impressive, and perhaps his second reign will be much better.

Every title will be defended at the show, and a few will change hands. The WWE Championship could be one of them.

#2 Sasha Banks defeats Becky Lynch to capture the RAW Women's Championship

Will The Boss dethrone The Man to become the RAW Women's Champion?
Will The Boss dethrone The Man to become the RAW Women's Champion?

Sasha Banks returned to WWE the night after SummerSlam and immediately started a feud with The Man Becky Lynch. The two Superstars will collide on Sunday for the RAW Women's Championship.

For the first time in a while, Becky finally has a credible opponent. The Boss has held the RAW Women's Championship several times, but her reigns were short and she lost all her title defenses. Banks returned to WWE better than ever, and she has a lot of momentum going into Clash of Champions.

She is yet to receive a long and proper reign as RAW Women's Champion, and after she and Bayley lost to Becky and Charlotte Flair on RAW last week, it's possible that The Boss could walk out as the new champion.

#1 Braun Strowman becomes the new Universal Champion

Could we see a new Universal Champion?
Could we see a new Universal Champion?

Braun Strowman has been chasing the Universal Championship for a long time. He even won the Money in the Bank contract and cashed it in for the title but failed. Not only will The Monster Among Men and The Beastslayer Seth Rollins battle it out for the Big Red Belt, but they'll also have to defend their RAW Tag Team Championships against the team of Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler.

It'll be interesting to see how that works out, but one thing is for sure; WWE will be making a big mistake by not handing Strowman the Universal Title. Losing to Seth Rollins will only make him weak.

If he wins the title, we could see him face his former leader Bray Wyatt (The Fiend) at Hell in a Cell. That will be a very interesting bout.
