5 Things that could happen during Brock Lesnar vs. Rey Mysterio: Dominick interferes, Lesnar squashes Rey?

At Survivor Series 2019, WWE Champion Brock Lesnar will defend his title against perennial underdog Rey Mysterio. This match came about as a result of Lesnar's continued assaults on Mysterio, and more importantly, his son Dominick. Mysterio brought backup in the form of Cain Velasquez, who failed to beat Lesnar at Crown Jewel 2019.

Therefore, Rey Mysterio took things into his hands and used a pipe to attack Lesnar a few weeks ago on RAW. Subsequently, the title match between the two was made official for the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view. Most fans predict that Lesnar will retain easily, but WWE may throw us a surprise, so fans shouldn't rule anything out.

In this article, we will explore five things that could happen during the match between Rey Mysterio and Brock Lesnar.

#5. Rey Mysterio defeats Brock Lesnar clean

Rey Mysterio could defeat Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship. This is the least possible and most shocking result that could transpire at Survivor Series. Over the last six years, Lesnar has been a dominant freak of nature who terrifies the entire WWE locker room. As a result, he has rarely lost a match, nor does he often lose clean. If Rey Mysterio does the unthinkable in this David vs. Goliath bout, it could go down as one of the most shocking moments in WWE history.

There are a few reasons why it may happen. Mysterio is a legend in this business and one of the most influential wrestlers of all time, but he's 44 years old, and there is not much time left before he retires. Therefore, as one final gift, the company could give him a WWE Championship reign for a few months.

The move would also be an attempt to right the wrongs of yesteryear, as Rey could finally have a decent run with that title. After all, he's the biggest underdog, and a victory for him would make many fans happy.

#4. Lesnar wins a competitive match

Among all the possibilities, WWE could prefer to go with the two wrestlers having a highly competitive match that ends with Brock Lesnar retaining his WWE Championship. When we look at the last few Survivor Series events, Lesnar has defeated smaller wrestlers like AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan after highly competitive bouts.

Lesnar enjoys working against smaller opponents, and that could very well be the case again. Lesnar can be dominant initially before Rey pulls off some extraordinary maneuvers to take him down. It's a guarantee that Lesnar will sell so well and help make Mysterio's offense look believable.

In the end, Lesnar could retain the title, but only after making Mysterio look strong. Although it's not a surprising outcome, it gives fans a potentially show-stealing match and at the end of the day, fans have paid their money to see entertaining matches. Unlike some other scenarios, this one could actually be embraced by the WWE Universe.

#3. Dominick interferes and helps Rey win

During the season premiere of RAW, Lesnar interrupted and not only attacked Rey Mysterio, but also hurt Rey's son Dominick. It was shocking, to say the least, as Lesnar made it personal and clearly crossed a line. Subsequently, Lesnar defeated Cain Velasquez at Crown Jewel and has continued to assault Rey and his son.

At Survivor Series, the father and son duo could have something up their sleeves in order to ensure a victory. Rey could take the beating and endure while Lesnar becomes frustrated. At the opportune moment, Dominick may come out and interfere in some way, which could allow Rey to capitalize and defeat Lesnar.

It would be extremely shocking and would make sense in terms of the story. Until now, Dominick hasn't gotten in any offense on Lesnar, but this would be a believable way for him to affect the match.

Furthermore, Rey Mysterio winning the match in this fashion would be way more believable than him defeating Lesnar clean.

#2. Brock Lesnar squashes Rey Mysterio

Out of all the things that could happen in this match, this looks like one of the most likely possibilities. Brock Lesnar is a freak of nature and one of the most dominant Superstars in WWE history. That point had been made clear during his first run in WWE, but this second run only helps to make the case stronger.

Lesnar wins almost all of his matches and can put the biggest Superstars away with relative ease. We all remember how easily he beat John Cena at Summerslam 2014. Recently, Kofi Kingston fell victim to Lesnar when he lost in a mere 9 seconds, which ended his WWE Championship reign.

A similar situation could happen when Rey Mysterio takes on 'The Beast' at Survivor Series. Although Rey got the upper hand during last week's RAW, it may not matter come Survivor Series where the match could be over in a couple of minutes or even mere seconds.

If it happens, it's safe to say that fans won't be surprised by it as the WWE Universe has now come to expect quick, one-sided outcomes from any Brock Lesnar match.

#1. Match ends in DQ - Rey, Cain, and Dominick destroy Lesnar

Another possibility that could transpire during the match is an all-out assault on Brock Lesnar from Rey Mysterio, Cain Velasquez, and Dominick. Lesnar has constantly crossed limits and repeatedly assaulted all three men. Rey Mysterio has always stressed that he values family above all else, so Lesnar could face dire consequences for his actions.

During their match, Lesnar could be dominant and go overboard, but Velasquez and Dominick could come out to confront him. It won't take long for the trio to gang up on Lesnar and take him down. This would cause a disqualification and cost Rey the title, however, that might not matter at the end of the day, if the trio's ultimate goal is to teach Brock Lesnar a lesson.

This would protect Lesnar and also give the upper hand to the babyfaces. If this is the planned finish, then this match shouldn't close out the PPV as the main event should have a conclusive finish.
