5 things that should not happen at Clash of Champions 2019

WWE is going through a transitional phase, as we near SmackDown's switch to FOX, as well as NXT being aired on USA Network. This weekend's Clash of Champions PPV is the last PPV before these changes come into effect in WWE.

At Clash of Champions, all the titles will be defended, as 10 title matches will take place, as well as Roman Reigns' singles match against Rowan.

The PPV is set to be an exciting one as we will see Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins defend their RAW Tag Team titles and then face each other for the Universal title. We will also witness an eagerly awaited match between Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch for the RAW Women's title, as well as Randy Orton challenging Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship.

We expect a few outcomes, that are all but certain to happen, but there are other situations that should not happen at the PPV. Let's take a look at 5 things that should not happen at Clash of Champions 2019:

#1 Brock Lesnar returns to feud with Rollins again

Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar has not been on WWE television since he lost the Universal title to Seth Rollins at SummerSlam earlier this year, holding the title for 28 days. Lesnar, who had lost the title to Rollins at WrestleMania 35, won it back at Extreme Rules when he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Rollins.

We could perhaps see Lesnar return to the ring at Clash of Champions as there were reports doing the rounds earlier this year that The Beast could be a part of SmackDown when it moves to FOX. But, brining Lesnar back at this point in time is not the right move.

Lesnar is not the most loved Superstar by the WWE Universe as they feel that he's not devoted to the product and WWE fans also want to see someone different fighting for the main titles in WWE.

Lesnar feuding with Rollins would be rather boring as we have seen that before quite a few times this year, while him facing off against Kofi Kingston would be a much more interesting feud.

#2 Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins retaining RAW Tag Team titles

As mentioned previously, Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins will compete in two matches at Clash of Champions. First, they will defend their RAW Tag Team titles against the team of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, and later in the night face each other for the Universal title.

Strowman and Rollins defeated Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson on the August 19 RAW show to win the RAW Tag Team titles. Roode and Ziggler won a tag-team turmoil match on the following week of RAW and earned a shot at the titles at Clash of Champions.

Strowman and Rollins should not retain their tag team titles as it would not only destroy the RAW tag team division, but also not add some fire to their rivalry, which is desperately needed.

Strowman turning on Rollins in the RAW Tag Team match would set up their match for later that night perfectly, while the RAW Tag Team titles around the waists of Ziggler and Roode could help elevate the tag team division as both of them are phenonmenal wrestlers in the ring.

#3 AJ Styles vs Cedric Alexander match ending in disqualification

Cedric Alexander seems to be the next former 205 Live Superstar to get a push on RAW with reports suggesting that RAW Executive Director Paul Heyman wants to push Alexander.

Now, Alexander has got his big chance to shine when he faces off against AJ Styles for the United States title, which will be Alexander's first big opportunity on the main roster. Both Superstars are incredible athletes who could put on a great show for the crowd at Charlotte, North Carolina's Spectrum Center.

But, there is a huge possibility that the match may end in disqualification, as has been the case recently in matches involving AJ Styles. AJ Styles fellow OC members, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, have interfered recently in matches involving Styles, which have ended in disqualification.

It will be a pity if this happens at a PPV as well, although it does give Alexander the opportunity to be in the limelight for a little while longer. Putting the belt on Alexander this early in his main roster career may not be a good decision, but the match ending in a DQ could be worse for the US title.

#4 Bayley losing the SmackDown Women's title

Current SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley, surprisingly turned heel a few weeks ago, siding with her best friend Sasha Banks, once more. Banks and Bayley first attacked RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch, and then Charlotte Flair.

Bayley will defend her SmackDown Women's Title against Charlotte Flair at Clash of Champions this Sunday.

This is the first time that Bayley has turned heel on the main roster, and the very first time that she will defend her title as a heel, which could mean that she could use underhand tactics to get the win or inflict pain on Charlotte.

Whatever happens, Bayley should not walk away from Clash of Champions without the SmackDown Women's title as it is her time to shine and not Charlotte, who has held the belt on numerous occasions.

It will be interesting to see how Bayley's heel character develops over time.

#5 Braun Strowman defeating Seth Rollins

There is a huge possibility that Braun Strowman, who will face Seth Rollins for the Universal title at Clash of Champions, could turn heel. Strowman has shown heelish tendencies over the last two weeks or so and we could maybe see him go full heel at Clash of Champions when he and Rollins will face off in the main event.

For over a year, many fans and wrestling journalists have predicted how Strowman would soon win a major title in WWE, but that day hasn't come yet - and I don't think it should happen at Clash of Champions as well.

Strowman deserves the Universal title for how well he has progressed over the last two years, but the bigger - more exciting - feud is that of Rollins and Bray Wyatt. WWE and Wyatt have teased a match between Rollins and The Fiend, and I have a feeling that it could happen at the next PPV, Hell in a Cell.
