5 things we learnt from the Austin/Heyman podcast

Austin/Heyman podcast

This week following Monday Night Raw, we saw Stone Cold Steve Austin’s podcast return to the WWE Network. His guest this time was none other than the one behind the one in 21-1, Paul Heyman.

So let’s take a look now at 5 interesting things that we learnt from Austin/Heyman podcast:

IWC hates Lesnar?

The beast, Brock Lesnar

Stone Cold brings up how the IWC doesn’t think Lesnar loves the business because he isn’t there every week. Heyman reassure everyone that Brock most certainly does love the business, but he also loves his children more. He notes that seeing Brock Lesnar is a big deal because it doesn’t happen that often.

A portion of the IWC may not appreciate Lesnar’s limited schedule but I believe most are now accepting of it considering his immense talent and huge star power.

Road wars

Heyman

Heyman told an intriguing story involving Sting, The Steiners and The Samoans. He revealed how Sting would drive while Scott would hold Rick through the window by his ankles and open the doors of various other wrestlers’ cars. Heyman notes just how dangerous this was.

He then reveals they did it once to Heyman and The Samoans while also throwing food at them. So in retaliation The Samoans had Heyman pull over and they loaded up at a supermarket before the two cars begun a full-on road war, tossing objects back and forth at each other.

Heyman notes that their rental cars were totalled and he is still blacklisted from renting a car in Charlotte, NC.

Where’s the money?

Paul the promo master

Austin praised Heyman on his incredible promo skills and queried about the art and science behind them. Heyman begin to tell a short anecdote in which he had four minutes to close a show so went out and gave the performance of a lifetime so fans wouldn’t dare change the channel.

Afterwards, Dusty Rhodes told him that is was quite entertaining, but “where’s the money?”. Despite everything he did right, Heyman forgot to sell the upcoming Starrcade event. He states that he has remembered that ever since and now goes out every time trying to sell something to get the money.

Punk & Heyman

Heyman and Punk still remain close

During the podcast Heyman revealed that he continues to keep in touch with CM Punk on a daily basis.

Heyman believes that money is essentially a non-issue for Punk and that he has a true passion for MMA and the UFC. He thinks that Punk regrets not getting into the octagon 5 years earlier.

Heyman concludes on Punk by stating that he is man enough to take his chances and he’s aware that he may get knocked out.

Heyman also commented earlier on that the reason he and Punk worked so well on-screen was due to their close real life friendship. He also revealed that is why he and Lesnar work so well.

Lesnar v Austin at WM32?

Could we witness Lesnar v Austin at Wrestlemania?

Heyman eventually asks Austin about fighting Lesnar at Wrestlemania 32 to which Austin reveals if they did, he would kick Brock’s a$$. Heyman says there would be no better place to do it then in Texas.

Heyman pushes to have the match and Austin says it would have to be a Texas Death Match. He doesn’t want to get into a scientific bout and has great respect for Lesnar, but proclaims that if you poke Stone Cold you are poking the wrong son of a b**ch.

Austin intensity increases as he even threatens to whip Heymans ass before finishing things up and closing the podcast.

This was an extremely interesting development. Could we see Austin step back in the ring at Wrestlemania 32 to battle the beast Brock Lesnar?
