5 things WWE must do with Sasha Banks

What's next for the 'Legit Boss'?

WWE Superstar Sasha Banks made a fantastic comeback after her four-month-long hiatus from the company. She came back as a heel and showed why the ‘Legit Boss’ stands second to none.

Upon her return, Banks feuded with Becky Lynch for the RAW Women’s Championship. Despite being unsuccessful in her attempt, Banks ensured that she made a mark during this rivalry.

Their match at Hell in a Cell was arguably the best WWE match of the year. It also showed that Banks can rule the Women’s division with her incredible in-ring skills and engaging mic work.

They were expected to have an extended rivalry but in WWE Draft 2019, Banks was moved to SmackDown. She now accompanies her best friend Bayley who is the Women’s Champion on the Blue brand.

Here, we take a look at five things that WWE must do with Sasha Banks after bringing her on SmackDown.

#5. Engaging in feuds with top Superstars

Could Sasha Banks feud with Alexa Bliss?
Could Sasha Banks feud with Alexa Bliss?

Sasha Banks’ return to WWE was influential enough to have her inserted in the title picture almost immediately. But she cannot directly go for the Women’s Championship on the Blue brand since it’s her best friend Bayley who holds the top prize.

Therefore, WWE should have Banks feud with all the top Superstars in the SmackDown Women’s locker room. She can deliver epic matches against Alexa Bliss and Asuka. She can also feud with the likes of Lacey Evans, Sonya Deville, and Nikki Cross to help bring more attention to their skills.

All these Superstars are incredibly talented and Banks can help elevate their in-ring performances with the rivalry. Even without a title, The Boss can execute compelling narratives that will ultimately help her opponents in seeking more opportunities in the future.

#4. Make her the captain of Survivor Series team

She is meant for the job!

Sasha Banks is a heel and her inclination towards the management is not hidden. Therefore, it makes sense to have her lead the women’s team at Survivor Series.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley is expected to lock horns with her RAW counterpart, Becky Lynch. One would expect the latter to pick up a victory and give RAW an upper hand.

Hence it only makes sense to have Banks lead the Blue brand to victory in a 5-on-5 match. Maybe Charlotte Flair will be the captain of the opposing team which will allow these two Superstars to add another chapter to their age-old rivalry.

If Banks manages to win her match but Bayley loses in her Champion vs Champion bout against ‘The Man’, it will sow the seeds for an inevitable feud between the two best friends.

Come Survivor Series, Banks will be the best option to lead the Blue brand in Team RAW vs Team SmackDown (Women's match) and deliver a memorable performance at the pay-per-view.

#3. Bayley and Sasha Banks form a brutal heel duo

Bayley’s much-awaited heel turn finally happened after Sasha Banks’ return. But she was still being booked as someone living in the shadow of her best friend.

But two weeks ago, Bayley debuted her new gimmick which proved that 'The Hugger' is no longer interested in settling for a warm embrace.

It is amazing to see Bayley fight her own battles and now is the perfect opportunity to book her as an equally strong competitor as the other three Horsewomen of WWE.

Now that Bayley is a heel too, it would be epic to see her destroy the SmackDown Women’s roster alongside Sasha Banks. Together, they can be an intimidating duo who always have each other’s backs. They have good chemistry and portraying both of them as equally brutal Superstars will help WWE in showcasing a stronger bond before one of them betrays the other.

This move will ensure that Banks is not rushed into the title picture. It will also help WWE in establishing a not-so-loving Bayley as a deserving Champion, allowing her to have a long and meaningful title reign in return.

#2 Feud with Bayley

Best friends forever?
Best friends forever?

WWE have teased a feud between Bayley and Sasha Banks for a long time. But we never saw these two best friends engage in a full-fledged feud on the main roster.

They already share a lot of history and have enough reasons to turn on each other.

Before Banks took a hiatus from WWE, she was one half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. However, it was mostly Bayley who did all the work and earned the honor of becoming the inaugural Women's Tag Team Champion alongside Banks.

WWE can revisit several such instances and gradually build-up to the feud between Banks and Bayley. The last time they were in such an intense rivalry, the two BFFs delivered an epic match at NXT: Takeover, Brooklyn and the rest is history.

There is an opportunity to recreate that feud with added stipulations. But WWE need to ensure that the narrative for the dispute is set at a moderate pace.

Remember Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho, and your reaction when the words ‘The List of KO’ were revealed on your TV screen?

Banks vs Bayley can fetch a similar response from the WWE Universe, if the creatives play their cards right.

#1. Have her win Royal Rumble 2020

It would be great to see Sasha Banks win another Women's Championship

Sasha Banks is one of the finest performers in WWE history -- irrespective of gender. Time and again, the 'Legit Boss' has proved that she has the potential to reach the pinnacle of sports entertainment. Now, all she needs is perfect story-telling.

WWE can book her as a person who is tired of seeing other people take her place as the top female Superstar. Hence, it would be perfect to have a frustrated Sasha Banks channel all her aggression into winning Royal Rumble next year.

After winning the Royal Rumble for the first time in her career, Banks will have the opportunity to challenge either the RAW Women’s Champion or the SmackDown Women’s Champion.

It would be poetic to see her choose Becky Lynch as her opponent and beat ‘The Man’ for the RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. The two can then continue their feud on the Red brand.

Even if Banks fails to win the title at the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All’, she will have her well-deserved ‘Mania moment which will open new possibilities for the ‘Legit Boss’.
