Will Tommaso Ciampa be able to stop Bronn Breakker on NXT 2.0?

WWE NXT had a few segments that fell flat this week. Pete Dunne defeated Cameron Grimes on the show before beating down Kyle O’Reilly with Ridge Holland.

Von Wagner helped walk KOR backstage where he told him they were facing Dunne and Holland next week in one of the most awkward segments of the year. Meanwhile, Ikemen Jiro picked up another quick loss on NXT this week.

Raquel Gonzalez was once again cornered by Toxic Attraction on the show. However, Zoey Stark and Io Shirai came out to help the NXT Women’s Champion even the odds.

WWE surprisingly allowed Indi Hartwell to defeat Mei Ying on Tuesday night. However, the show also had some good matches and segments.

WWE did well to build Mandy Rose and MSK on the show. Meanwhile, Tommaso Ciampa came face to face with his next challengers.

Take a look at the five things WWE got right on NXT 2.0 this week.

#5. Mandy Rose defeated Ember Moon on WWE NXT

Mandy Rose attacked Raquel Gonzalez with the help of Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne last week on WWE NXT. Rose was set to take on former NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon in a singles match this week.

Moon took control early before hanging her up in the Tree of Woe in the corner. Toxic Attraction got involved and helped Mandy Rose before Moon took them out with a big dive.

The War Goddess took down Rose with a powerbomb and diving double knees. Rose tried to fight back, but couldn't keep the momentum going for too long.

Late in the match, Ember Moon set up to hit the Eclipse. However, Rose countered the move and landed a bicycle knee for the win. Toxic Attraction celebrated the victory while Moon looked a little too disappointed.

The contest allowed both women to show what they’ve got. Rose has never been the best in-ring performer, but she's improving. Meanwhile, Moon could undergo a character change and become a heel once again.

Toxic Attraction has a long way to go and will need a few more victories to come across as a threat. However, it looks like Mandy Rose could defeat Raquel Gonzalez for the NXT Women’s Championship at Halloween Havoc.

#4. Andre Chase cost Odyssey Jones a big match on WWE NXT

LA Knight got himself a match against Odyssey Jones on WWE NXT. The former Million Dollar Champion got the first strike, but Odyssey took control by tossing his opponent around the ring.

Knight started targeting the big man’s knee and kept him grounded for some time. The Million Dollar Mega Star hit a few strikes to Jones’ head, but could only get a near fall.

Knight tried to lift Jones for a big slam, but he was too heavy for him. Jones took control of the contest once again before Andre Chase decided to interfere.

Chase taunted Jones from the apron, and the distraction allowed Knight to hit a jumping neck-breaker. Even though the NXT giant got his foot on the rope, Chase knocked it back into the ring, allowing Knight to get the three count.

Jones will need some time to build himself on NXT. A rivalry against Chase could help him become a top force in the company. LA Knight needed this win as he should slowly get into the NXT Championship picture again. The finish will help Jones and Chase get a big match at Halloween Havoc.

#3. Cora Jade made an impressive debut on WWE NXT

Cora Jade was ready to face Virginia Ferry on WWE NXT this week. Before the match began, an aggravated Franky Monet laid out Ferry and took her spot.

Monet looked to vent her frustration on Jade after losing her NXT Women’s Championship match against Raquel Gonzalez last week.

La Wera Loca dominated Jade for some time and took her down with double knees in the corner. She locked in a submission hold and tried to punish her opponent.

Jade countered a Glam Slam from Monet and rolled her up for the three-count. The victory gave Cora Jade something to smile about while Monet was extremely angry at the result.

The match wasn’t too great, but it allowed Monet’s story to develop even more on NXT. She's been a solid heel on the women’s roster even though she hasn’t competed in too many matches.

Jade will benefit from the win and get some more spotlight on NXT. Meanwhile, Monet will continue to look for newcomers to take down and increase her win count.

#2. Tommaso Ciampa built towards his next two matches on WWE NXT

WWE NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa was looking for a fight this week. He decided to challenge anybody to come out and face him for the title.

Bronn Breakker decided to head out to the middle and come face-to-face with The Blackheart. He said he wanted an NXT Championship match at Halloween Havoc, and Ciampa was happy to grant him his wish.

Later on, Joe Gacy stood up to the NXT Champion backstage. He demanded a shot of his own at Ciampa and his title. Ciampa agreed to wrestle him next week. Gacy will be added to the Halloween Havoc match if he won.

The two segments helped Ciampa build towards his next few matches. He needs to perform on NXT more often to raise the quality of the show and increase the value of his title.

WWE could look to award Gacy a surprise victory next week just so he can take the pinfall at Halloween Havoc and protect both Ciampa and Bronn Breakker. That could be the most logical way forward after building Breakker as a true force on NXT.

#1. MSK retained the WWE NXT Tag Team Championships on Tuesday night

MSK’s Wes Lee and Nash Carter accepted the challenge to defend their WWE NXT Tag Team Championships this week. They put their title on the line in a tag team elimination match against The Grizzled Young Veterans, Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, and Carmela Hayes and Trick Williams.

Briggs and Jensen took control of the match early and used their strength to keep their opponents grounded. Wes Lee came into the match and went on a roll against Williams. MSK hit the Blockbuster to eliminate Hayes and Williams from the match.

GYV came in and looked to eliminate the NXT Tag Team Champions. However, Briggs and Jensen wanted to take on the champs all alone in the match. The two men hit a double powerbomb to eliminate GYV.

Carter looked out of sorts after taking a Ticket to Mayhem from GYV. However, MSK still fought on and tried to trump their opponent’s power with their speed. Briggs and Jensen nearly took the win off a double powerbomb, but Carter made the save. Lee then rolled through the powerbomb into a pin for three.

After the match, Imperium arrived and took out the NXT Tag Team Champions to make their intentions clear. The match was top-notch and allowed the new teams on NXT to shine. However, it was odd to see Carmelo Hayes and his partner get eliminated so early.

Imperium has already challenged MSK for the titles before. It looks like NXT wants to build towards a big title match for Halloween Havoc between the two teams.
