6 things WWE subtly told us on RAW: Clash of Champions results spoiled, unexpected Superstar to get pushed?

What a show!
What a show!

Welcome to this week's edition of "5 things WWE subtly told us on RAW". WWE returned to Madison Square Garden for a live show for the first time in over ten years and it didn't disappoint at all!

From start to finish, WWE managed to do a solid job with the go-home show to Clash of Champions and hopefully, this means that we're going to have quite a solid PPV as well.

For the last 3 PPVs, the build was underwhelming but the PPVs itself ended up delivering in a big way. As for RAW, it did a great job in building towards WWE Clash of Champions 2019 and there is certainly a sense of positivity heading into the show.

This doesn't happen that often, so hopefully it doesn't mean a reverse effect from what's been happening the past few months. Now, one half of the King of the Ring tournament final is set and the ball will be on the blue brand SmackDown Live's court to follow up on an excellent show by Paul Heyman and the WWE creative team.

Here are a few things that WWE subtly told us on RAW!

#6. The Viking Raiders might just be the foil toThe OC

It's been a bad few weeks for The OC
It's been a bad few weeks for The OC

The OC haven't had the best few weeks. They've mostly been on the receiving end of a beatdown, though they have dished out a lot of punishment in their own right. Similar to 2016 when Enzo & Cass were foils to The Club, this time around, it seems to be the up-and-coming Viking Raiders who will play foil to The OC.

Their rivalry began at the gauntlet match a couple of weeks ago and it seems as though we're going to get a series of matches between both teams soon.

#5. Rey Mysterio isn't done yet; Gran Metalik could shine as a singles star

A fantastic showing for both men
A fantastic showing for both men

It's not often in WWE that we see a match where both Superstars come out of it looking really good. Rey Mysterio faced Gran Metalik in a dream match on RAW and for a limited RAW match-up, they achieved quite a bit.

Thankfully, they were given more time but it was clear that if they had a lot more time at a PPV, they would excel and likely get a huge crowd reaction. Fans at Madison Square Garden were treated to a rather incredible match-up between the two luchadors and at the end of it, Mysterio ended up winning and standing tall.

This was a much-needed win for Mysterio, who will be looking to rebuild a lot of momentum that he lost over the past few months. One thing that he did show is that he's far from being the "grizzled old veteran" who is past his prime and has lost it.

As for Gran Metalik, it was a great showing for him even in defeat and with this, we could start seeing him get more featured as a singles star. He could finally get pushed!

#4. Bray Wyatt gave us more insight into his character

Stranger Danger!
Stranger Danger!

Bray Wyatt brought to us yet another incredible episode of Firefly Fun House. It was largely the for other characters chanting "stranger danger" and asking why Wyatt didn't go after 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.

This was where Wyatt let us know about an important piece of information - he didn't go after characters who he hasn't really interacted with in the past. Jerry Lawler is probably the exception to that rule, but Wyatt seemed to be completely ok with the Texas Rattlesnake doing "Rattlesnake" things.

He once again targetted Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman as well, subtly bringing up their name without mentioning Hell in a Cell or challenging them for the Universal Championship.

Interestingly enough, Wyatt took the clock that showed "3:16" and changed it to"11:19". There has already been a lot of speculation about what "11:19" signifies and if you're looking for a specific occasion on the date, you probably won't find it. It's on the Tuesday before Survivor Series, but SmackDown will be on Fridays by that point.

We may come to know sometime in the future, but the concept of 11:19 and this episode just added another layer to his character.

#3. This could be Chad Gable's final

Baron Corbin stole the win
Baron Corbin stole the win

When the King of the Ring tournament began, it seemed as though the finals was a lock to be Ricochet vs Andrade - a showcase between the two fastest rising stars on the roster. However, we were taken by surprise when Chad Gable first eliminated Andrade and then tonight, where Baron Corbin got the win in the Triple Threat match to secure his place in the King of the Ring finals at WWE Clash of Champions 2019.

He will be facing either Chad Gable or Elias and it seems obvious that Gable will be the one to go to the finals. However, will he be the one to go on and win it all the way? History seems to suggest otherwise since WWE loves to have heels win the King of the Ring tournament.

While that isn't in Gable's favor, it must be noted that the story being told now is of Gable being "too small" as compared to his competition but overcoming adversity anyway. We believe that this King of the Ring final will end up being one where Chad Gable will finally be given his big moment to shine.

#2. Cedric Alexander is getting a United States title shot

A busy night for Cedric Alexander
A busy night for Cedric Alexander

The former Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander had quite a busy night. He was scheduled to face AJ Styles in a non-title match and after 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin stunned him, Alexander came out to have the match.

It seemed like he would get sweet revenge, but a predictable interference from The OC prevented that from happening and Alexander would instead win by DQ. While that wouldn't be a direct way of getting a title shot, that wasn't the last time that he would get an opportunity in the night.

He was involved in a 10-man tag team match and after everybody but AJ Styles was cleared from the ring, he managed to land a Lumbar Check to pin the Phenomenal United States Champion.

It's evident that since AJ Styles was the only singles champion without a major match at Clash of Champions, they needed to add something in the last minute. There's no better way of doing that than by having the champion get pinned in a tag team match or non-title match in general.

Hopefully, the two will have a really good match at Clash of Champions.

#1. Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair are losing at Clash of Champions

A dis-arm-her on the outside
A dis-arm-her on the outside

The Four Horsewomen, despite a few hiccups during the match, proved why they're still the gold standard of women's wrestling in the world. You can make all the criticism of the match you want to, but ultimately, you're going to hear the crowd and Madison Square Garden seemed to think that the match was absolutely awesome.

The Four Horsewomen collided in a tag team match and the reluctant team of Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair managed to defeat Sasha Banks and Bayley clean as a whistle. It was a great bit of storytelling there, but there is perhaps one detriment about this match - it essentially spoiled the Clash of Champions results for both matches.

While Sasha Banks winning the title right away isn't a guarantee, Bayley retaining seems to be, especially since she took the pin. With Sasha Banks, it wouldn't be surprising to see an inconclusive finish in order to drag it onto Hell in a Cell. With that being said, there's quite a high possibility that Sasha Banks will end up dethroning Becky Lynch and will end her incredible reign as RAW Women's Champion.
