3 Things WWE wants you to forget about Lana

WWE wouldn’t want you to delve deeply into Lana’s past
WWE wouldn’t want you to delve deeply into Lana’s past

There are few women in the WWE right now, as a matter of fact, in the entire history of the WWE, who are as stunning as Lana. The mere mention of her name sends chills down my body, and you may think I’m exaggerating, but you’d be on the same plane that I am on once you complete reading this piece.

Catherine Joy "C.J." Perry made her WWE debut on the October 23rd, 2013 episode of NXT and her subsequent main roster debut at the Royal Rumble in 2014. Inspired from the Ivan and Ludmilla Drago dynamic from Rocky 4, Lana and her real-life beau Rusev (now husband) maintained their spot in the upper mid-card of the WWE despite being at the receiving end of some tremendous heat.

Rusev would have been just another struggling mid-carder if it had not been for his beautiful valet telling him to crush his low life opponents. Not that Rusev isn’t proficient, it’s just that Lana adds the elegance and the legitimacy. The path to a legendary managerial career looks certain for Lana, with an alluring in-ring stint also a viable option.

But while she carves the path for herself, WWE would wish the fans forget these things about the Ravishing Russian.

3. The Dolph Ziggler debacle

A blunder to forget
A blunder to forget

No prizes for guessing why this storyline was voted as the worst storyline of 2015 unanimously across all quarters. The entire feud was outright brain pain and for that very reason, I won’t even walk you through the whole ordeal.

To put it in a nutshell, this was one big mess of a love rectangle. WWE stretched the feud to such an extent that according to rumors, Lana had to break the news of her real-life engagement with Rusev to TMZ and face the consequences of being written off WWE TV for some time. WWE was forced to acknowledge the real-life developments and incorporate it into reel life by reuniting Lana and Rusev for good.

2. Not Russian

Born in Florida to parents of Portuguese and Venezuelan descent, Lana isn’t Russian by any means. However, she does have Soviet roots which may be what the creative team may have latched upon.

She spent the majority of her childhood in Latvia – a Soviet Union state at that time and didn’t return to the United States until she was 17 years old. She completed a major in dancing and acting from the Florida State University and has dabbled in modeling. She has been a backup dancer for some high-profile stars such as Nelly, Pink, and Akon, but her moment of reckoning came in the WWE.

There have, however, been countless instances when Lana lost her Russian accent and showed how American she actually is

1. Lead Singer for No Means Yes

No Means No!
No Means No!

Lana has tried it all. Be it modeling (which is a no-brainer), acting, dancing or singing – Lana is a jill of all trades. Out of all of her endeavors, her stint as the lead singer for a group called No Means Yes could have been her breakout moment at a tryst with fame.

The four aspiring singers of the group – Perry, Shea, Tanu and Kat managed to get signed under Ne-Yo’s record label. Wistfully, like many other failed projects, No Means Yes couldn't account for anything substantial and ended up recording one single, Would You Like That. And we assure you may not like that! Give it a listen and judge for yourself.
