Jason Jordan: 5 things you probably didn't know about him

He’s not really Kurt Angle’s son, but you already knew that!

For many weeks, we’ve ardently speculated about Kurt Angle and his personal problems. Finally, the truth is out in the open. This week on Raw, he announced that one-half of American Alpha, Jason Jordan, was Kurt Angle’s son. Well, okay then...

Let’s look at the positives coming out of this angle (no pun intended). Jason Jordan is a talented superstar with a great look and he can definitely benefit from this push. His alliance with Kurt Angle can launch him as a certified singles superstar and catapult his career. At the same time, it allows his partner Chad Gable to become a singles competitor on his own, too!

So, before he becomes the company’s next breakout star, we bring you five points from Jason Jordan’s life. Learn about this amazing athlete, in the paragraph right below, and the slides that follow this one.

#5 Jordan has three brothers who’ve been to prison

Jordan has a heartbreaking story indeed

When one looks at handsome, confident Jason Jordan, one assumes that he has always had it all, through his life. Unfortunately, his life story is far less rosy than it looks from the outside.

During WWE's show ‘Breaking Ground’, he was one of the many characters whose way to the top of the NXT roster had been highlighted.

Jordan revealed a shocking fact about his family that not too many of his fans know. All three of his brothers have been to prison and one of them is there for life. With his position and his talent, Jordan can act as an inspiration to many, to tread the right path.

#4 He almost became a dentist

Jason Jordan certainly has some great teeth

Had he not achieved success in the world of professional wrestling, Jason Jordan would have become a dentist! At least that's what he went to college for. His plans were put on hold once Jerry Brisco got in touch with him.

Even though Jason Jordan had the necessary qualifications to go to dental school with minors in chemistry, social science, and medicine, he could not pass up on an opportunity to chase his dreams and become a professional wrestler for WWE. He has been a fan of professional wrestling since he was a child, and even though he was always a bright student, being a WWE wrestler was always foremost on his list.

These days, he knocks teeth out instead of mending them.

#3 His fantasy match is with the Steiner Brothers

Imagine American Alpha vs. The Steiners at their prime!

Jason Jordan is a big fan of tag team wrestling (sadly that run has possibly ended now) and has often wanted to face the Hardyz and even a team like Sheamus and Cesaro. However, one of his dreams that will never come true is a chance to face The Steiner brothers at their peak.

As is quite obvious when you look at American Alpha, Rick and Scott Steiner have been a huge influence on Jordan, and he thinks that they are possibly the greatest tag team of all time in the history of WWE.

Not only does Jordan think that they had something 'special’, he revealed during an interview with NBC Elmira that he goes back and watches matches from the Steiner brothers all the time and still finds them enjoyable to watch. Jordan also expressed his desire to face AJ Styles in a singles environment, when he became a singles competitor.

#2 Jordan loves the Queen of Dragons

Jordan loves to unwind with TV shows like Game of Thrones

Jason Jordan was a guest on Xavier Woods’ ‘UpUpDownDown’ show and revealed that he loves to watch Game of Thrones, and like the rest of the world, was very excited about watching Season 7. He is especially fond of Daenerys Targaryen or the Mother of Dragons, from the show.

He’s watched Emilia Clarke in other movies too, and he considers himself a fan of hers. Jordan revealed that he is also a fan of shows such as ‘Orange is the New Black’ and ‘The Get Down’ on Netflix, and they allow him to unwind. House Targaryen recognises Ser Jason Jordan as one of their own.

#1 Jason Jordan thought amateur wrestling was pro wrestling

Oh, it’s true, it’s damn true

Jason Jordan was always a WWE fan growing up. He started amateur wrestling when he was only seven years old because he thought it was the same as professional wrestling! Thankfully because of this move, he got to be a part of two worlds that he adores.

While wrestling for Indiana University, a campus known for its amateur wrestlers, he was ranked top 15 in the nation for three consecutive years in a row. His accolades were such that even today, you’ll find his face painted on the gymnasium wall. Today, he's pursued a different path and we're sure he'll excel at it in the years that follow.

Best of luck and love to Jason Jordan, from all of us at Sportskeeda Wrestling. May you be just as successful as your dad.
