5 Things you need to know before tonight's RAW (September 23, 2019)

Will the Fiend appear tonight?
Will the Fiend appear tonight?

We are just a few hours away from the latest edition of the longest running weekly show in history - Monday Night RAW. Coming to us live from the Chase Center in San Francisco, California, the show will be the next step in the build-up for the upcoming Hell in a Cell PPV.

Hell in a Cell takes place less than two weeks from now and with only two matches confirmed for the show, one can expect a few more to be announced tonight.

There's so much to look forward to on this week's RAW. We have two women ready to destroy each other for the ultimate glory, a multi-man main event with major implications, the next chapter in the saga of the hottest act in pro wrestling today, and so much more.

So without further adieu, here are five things you need to know before tonight's edition of Monday Night RAW.

#5 King of the Ring finals rematch

All Hail King Corbin
All Hail King Corbin

Last week on RAW, our latest King of the Ring was crowned, as Baron Corbin defeated Chad Gable in the tournament final. On the following SmackDown, Corbin was all set for his coronation as King of the Ring 2019, but it was all cut short by Gable.

In a segment that ended with Corbin almost in tears, the former Olympian launched a furious attack - destroying Corbin's robe and crown in the process. Now the question is - whether Corbin will come out in a duplicate king costume today?

Just kidding. The real question is what is next for Corbin as he takes on Chad Gable in a King of the Ring rematch? What if Gable defeats Corbin this time? The rumors have suggested that Vince McMahon is quite impressed with Gable and might give him a push.

Will this be Gable's time to shine or will Baron Corbin get retribution for last week's humiliation, by defeating Gable fair and square?

#4 The Monster Among Men to get a partner?

Clash of Champions wasn't a great night for 'The Monster Among Men,' Braun Strowman. Heading into the show as one half of the RAW Tag Team Champions, Braun had plans to walk out with two belts, but ended up with none instead.

First, he and Seth Rollins lost their Tag Titles to the newly formed team of Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler. Later in the night, Rollins managed to successfully defend his Universal Title against Braun Strowman.

Last week's RAW saw a furious Braun Strowman interrupt the celebration of the new Tag Team Champions and then chase them out to the backstage area. Was this a sign that Braun has his eyes on getting the RAW Tag Team Championships back? It certainly looks that way.

Who will Braun team up with to go after Robert Roode and Ziggler? As strong as he is, Strowman still needs a partner and unless Nicholas has decided to get back into the ring again, that partner might be revealed tonight on RAW.

This past week, a video of Ziggler and Goldberg involved in a scuffle in Las Vegas went viral on social media. Would Goldberg team with Strowman? With the next Saudi Arabia show on the horizon, we can certainly expect some legends to get involved in the storyline. So never say never!

#3 Sasha Banks to take on Nikki Cross

After a major break following WrestleMania 35, Sasha Banks returned to action on the RAW after SummerSlam. In a flash, Banks gave a breath of fresh air to the Red Brand - turning heel and taking out Becky Lynch.

'The Boss' is all set to challenge RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch for her title inside the devilish Hell in a Cell structure. With many expecting her to come out on top this time, the rivalry has generated an incredible amount of buzz.

Before all that, Sasha will take on Nikki Cross tonight on RAW. Nikki and Alexa Bliss were defeated by The Boss and Hug Connection on last week's RAW, after Sasha made Nikki tap out.

With Bayley and Bliss set to be in their respective corners, one can expect the match to turn into a massive brawl. Could that hint toward a Tag Team Title match for Bayley and Banks sometime soon? By default, with their victory last week against the champions, they should be getting a shot at their titles.

The involvement of 'The Man' and 'The Queen' in the segment can also not be ignored, as the Four Horsewomen had a sickening chair shot party last week.

#2 A new challenger for the Universal Championship

Who will be the next challenger?
Who will be the next challenger?

This came as a massive surprise, didn't it? With the entire wrestling world invested in the build to The Fiend's Universal Championship match against Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell, WWE threw us all a massive curveball by announcing a major match for this week.

In what will most likely be the main event tonight, Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles, Ricochet, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Robert Roode will compete in a Fatal 5-Way Match to determine who will challenge Seth Rollins for his Universal Championship on the season premiere of RAW next week.

This brings in so many new permutations to the Universal title picture. First, the selection of the participants in this match makes us wonder about the criteria behind it. I can personally see either Mysterio or Ricochet picking up the win here to get a shot at Rollins' gold.

While the chances of the title changing hands just a week before a highly anticipated Hell in a Cell match are almost zero, the match could hint toward future rivalries after the PPV.

That does not mean that the current Wyatt/Rollins storyline would take a step back, as the ever-smiling host of our favorite RAW segment will return each week with a new edition of Firefly Funhouse.

#1 What's next in the Firefly Funhouse?

Arguably, the most anticipated part of RAW over the last few months, Bray Wyatt, will return with the latest edition of Firefly Funhouse.

Last week's show looked entirely dedicated to the Firefly Funhouse theme as Wyatt appeared on the giant screen multiple times throughout the night. The Fiend officially ended the evening by taking out a returning Kane. RAW even ended with a creepier version of the Firefly Funhouse theme song, as fans stared at the screen scratching their heads.

So the question now is - what does Bray Wyatt have in store for us on this episode of Firefly Funhouse? The Fiend vs Seth Rollins has been made official for the Universal Championship inside the Hell in a Cell in less than two weeks, and in Wyatt's own words - The Fiend hasn't forgiven Rollins for his past deeds.

Wyatt might respond to the Fatal 5-Way Match announcement, even warning the contestants to beware of The Fiend who might destroy anyone in his path. Will we see the return of any of our favorite Funhouse characters? Remember that "help" sign in Rambling Rabbits hands a couple of weeks ago? Will he try to warn Rollins of what he is up against?

Make sure to catch up tonight's show to find out what holds next for the Red Brand on the road to Hell in a Cell.
