5 things you need to know before tonight's WWE Monday Night RAW (September 2nd 2019)

Will Rollins and Strowman be able to co-exist, and who will the Fiend strike next?
Will Rollins and Strowman be able to co-exist, and who will the Fiend strike next?

In just a few hours, the WWE will descend on the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland to host the latest installment of Monday Night RAW.

After a huge SummerSlam PPV last month, the company is now on the road to Clash of Champions, which is shaping up to be a big night of wrestling.

As the name suggests, the show will feature plenty of title matches, as well as the finals of the 2019 King of the Ring tournament.

But for the men and women of the Red Brand, they need to focus on surviving tonight's show.

Here are five things you need to know before tonight's edition of WWE Monday Night RAW.

#5: The second round of the KOTR tournament begins

Ricochet, Samoa Joe, Cedric Alexander and Baron Corbin will battle for a spot in the semi-finals.
Ricochet, Samoa Joe, Cedric Alexander and Baron Corbin will battle for a spot in the semi-finals.

Last week on Monday Night RAW, Ricochet gave the 2019 King of the Ring tournament it's first real shocker.

Defeating Drew McIntyre (who was considered the favorite to win the entire tournament by many fans), the aerial assailant proved he is in this tournament to win it, and won't let anyone stand in his way.

Of course, the path to the throne is a difficult one, as in tonight's second-round match, the high flyer will take on Samoa Joe in a return to the feud from earlier this year.

Fans will remember that it was Ricochet who ended Joe's reign as United States Champion, and odds are that the Samoan Submission Machine hasn't forgotten that either.

As if one huge King of the Ring match isn't enough, tonight's show will have two, as fans will also see Cedric Alexander battle the man who already calls himself King: Baron Corbin.

#4: Will The Fiend strike tonight?

The Fiend has been a demonic, but dominant force since appearing in WWE, but who will Bray Wyatt target next?
The Fiend has been a demonic, but dominant force since appearing in WWE, but who will Bray Wyatt target next?

Though he hasn't had a match since SummerSlam, there are few acts hotter in WWE, or in the world of wrestling as a whole, than The Fiend Bray Wyatt.

Demolishing Finn Balor at the biggest party of the Summer, Wyatt has made it clear that everyone is a target for his wrath, including Hall of Famers like Mick Foley and Kurt Angle.

What Wyatt hasn't revealed though, is when his next attack will come, and it seems much like any horror movie in the dark, not knowing can often be worse than seeing the monster come after you.

Will Wyatt appear on tonight's three-hour broadcast, and if he does, who will his target be?

Perhaps he'll go for a member of the roster to set up a new feud for himself, or maybe he'll stick to attacking folks like Jerry 'the King' Lawler when his guard was down.

Whatever happens, expect many members of the Monday Night RAW roster to be looking over their shoulders tonight, in case The Fiend makes his presence known.

#3: It's Boss Time

The Boss may have found the answer to beating The Man Becky Lynch.
The Boss may have found the answer to beating The Man Becky Lynch.

Upon her return a few weeks ago, Sasha Banks made it clear that she wants people to be talking about her, and for reasons other than whatever really happened backstage at WrestleMania 35, which it seems we'll never really know about.

Since her return, the Boss has been a tour de force on the longest-running weekly episodic show, dismantling Natalya on multiple occasions, as well as RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch.

Banks is no stranger to gold herself, as she is a four-time RAW Women's Champion in her own right. She was also a former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion, though each of these reigns have been startlingly short.

The Boss has made it clear that she wants another shot at the RAW Women's title, and though The Man has been her usual distant self, instead sniping at Banks with insults, fans can't help but wonder how long the Irish Superstar can hold off.

As the winner of the first-ever women's main event in WrestleMania history, Lynch clearly can back up what she says and may need to let her fists do the talking to shut the Boss up.

#2: Mysterio to return after retirement rumors

Dominick told his father it isn't time to hang up his mask yet.
Dominick told his father it isn't time to hang up his mask yet.

Tonight, the master of the 619 himself, Rey Mysterio, will return to Monday Night RAW.

The former World Champion hasn't been seen on the Red Brand in two weeks, and the last time he was around, things weren't going his way.

After losing a two out of three falls to his old rival Andrade, Mysterio nearly hung his mask for good, until he was stopped by his son Dominick, who urged his legendary father to keep competing.

Though Mysterio will be back tonight, fans can't help but wonder what state he will be in after being ready to retire just a handful of weeks ago.

No-one could really blame Mysterio for wanting to put his time in the ring behind him, as the masked Superstar has had an incredible career.

Joining the industry as a teen, Mysterio has spent the majority of his life as a wrestler and has done it all in WWE.

What will Mysterio have to say tonight when he returns to Monday Night RAW, and who will step up to challenge the Royal Rumble and Grand Slam winner?

#1: Monday Night Braullins

Will the RAW Tag Team Champions be able to co-exist tonight on the red brand, before their title matches at Clash of Champions?
Will the RAW Tag Team Champions be able to co-exist tonight on the red brand, before their title matches at Clash of Champions?

In a few weeks, the WWE will host their Clash of Champions Pay Per View, which will certainly be an interesting night for Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman.

At the show, the pair will defend their RAW Tag Team Titles against the new team of Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler, who earned their shot on last week's program, though that won't be all for the champs.

Win, lose or draw, Rollins and Strowman will compete for a second time at the Pay Per View, this time against each other, for the Architect's Universal Championship.

This dichotomy has certainly made things interesting for the pair, as it seems to prove the old saying about keeping your friends close, and your enemies closer.

Though Clash of Champions may not be for another 13 days, it'll be interesting to see whether the tag team champions can make it to the Pay Per View without coming to blows.

Whatever happens, expect both the Monster Among Men and the Architect to be on top form tonight, on WWE Monday Night RAW.
