Brock Lesnar has never been the most easy-going guy, even during his first run in the WWE. Matt Hardy recalled how he was working with Brock Lesnar on the main event of SmackDown. He said that Lesnar was upset throughout the day that the match was going to go 12 minutes with Hardy getting a lot of offense in.

Matt said that Brock kept requesting for changes to be made throughout the day and this angered him. So much so that Hardy hit Brock hard in the head with a steel chair during the match.

Matt revealed that Lesnar was incensed backstage and that Vince McMahon and Fit Finlay had to personally intervene to calm things down.

Speaking in an interview years later, Matt Hardy described how it all went down:

"I caught him with lip of the chair in the back of his head and I split his head open, there was a scar, it was brutal. ...I remember coming to the back and telling Shannon Moore, 'I ****** him up, he is not going to be happy' I gotta go twelve minutes with Brock Lesnar, I know he wants to kill me. I just remember him coming through Gorilla [Position] and he's like, 'What the ****?! What the ****, Matt!' "

Hardy also added that despite all this, Brock had always been a professional inside the ring.

Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton faced each other at WWE SummerSlam 2016. Lesnar busted Orton open at the end of the match with a series of elbows. Backstage, it wasn’t clear if this was Lesnar taking things too far and one person who was concerned was Chris Jericho.

Jericho had the following to say about the incident on Chael Sonnen’s podcast:

“I think that happens when you get guys that are in a sport such as ours, half-entertainment, half-real, half-not" Jericho continued. "I just thought the finish of that match was very brutal and very violent, and I just didn’t know if Randy was OK. I was checking on Randy, my friend. We’ve always been pretty close.
I said something and (Lesnar) said something and next thing you know we’re nose to nose kind of yelling at each other. And (it) diffused fairly quickly.”

Brock Lesnar returned to WWE on the RAW after WrestleMania 28 in 2012. He got into a feud with John Cena almost immediately and they faced each other at Extreme Rules 2012.

Although Cena was booked to win the match, Lesnar was still supposed to look like a monster and got in most of the offense till Cena picked up the sudden win. After the match, to cement the beating Lesnar had handed out, Cena was supposed to be stretchered backstage to the back.

Instead, for some reason, Cena got up on his feet and walked back on his own. Brock was not happy and you can’t really blame him. Lesnar reportedly shouted at several officials, saying that he had been double-crossed. Lesnar also reportedly tore things up, shouted about everything he felt was wrong with WWE and also hinted that he could quit WWE anytime he wanted. All this happened backstage in full view.

The main event of WrestleMania 19 pitted Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship. The finish to the incredible match was Brock’s infamous botched Shooting Star Press, which left Lesnar with a concussion but it could have met much worse.

Kurt Angle described what happened right after Lesnar’s botched move:

"I was concerned about him because he wasn’t responding. When I covered him, he did kick out. I did tell him to kick out, and he kicked out. I remember asking him, ‘Can you give me an F-5?’ He didn’t respond. I was getting really worried. I started picking him up. I said, ‘Could you F-5 me?’ He said, ‘I think so,’ and he did."

Lesnar was taken backstage where a crowd gathered around while WWE doctors checked on him. As can be seen in the video below, Lesnar felt uncomfortable at everyone surrounding him and lost his cool. However, Gerald Briscoe calmed him down.
