WWE weddings are just the best, aren't they? They are always such beautiful ceremonies with happy endings. Who am I kidding? WWE weddings usually end in chaos and fun-filled drama that wouldn't be out of place in an episode of The Jerry Springer Show.

Before we get to the weddings, there's usually a wedding proposal that takes place. This can often be surprising for us to watch on. Of course, there have been multiple wedding proposals that have taken place over the years in WWE, that further ongoing storylines on-screen.

That being said, let's take a look at five WWE superstars who proposed to another superstar on-screen.

#5 WWE Exec Stephanie McMahon proposed to Test on Monday Night RAW

The wicked villain of The Authority had a very interesting start to her on-screen WWE career. She initially debuted on-screen in 1999 as an innocent sweetheart. But after being abducted by The Undertaker and almost marrying The Phenom, she entered a relationship with Test.

During her time with Test, she proposed to him live in the middle of the ring on an episode of Monday Night RAW. Test agreed and immediately kissed her. This angered her brother Shane McMahon, who Test feuded with which culminated in a 'Love Her or Leave Her match', which Test won.

Unfortunately, things didn't go quite according to plan. During the wedding of Stephanie McMahon and Test, Triple H gatecrashed the ceremony. In a video, it was revealed that Triple H had in fact drugged Stephanie McMahon and married her at a drive-through wedding chapel in Las Vegas. The Attitude Era was crazy, right?

Former WWE writer Vince Russo revealed on his podcast how the storyline was supposed to end:

"Ed [Ferrara] and I knew all along where we were going with the Stephanie-Test storyline. It was never in question. Our plan all along was for Test to stand her up at the altar. That was the plan, and we were going to make Test a heel. And Test was gonna have an issue with Shane, and the whole family. That's where we were going. We never wrote a story we didn't know where the thing was going." Vince Russo said (h/t Russo Reveals)

Vince Russo also said the plans that eventually unfolded were decided by someone else, as he had already left WWE to join WCW at that point. The storyline will go down as one of the craziest we saw during the Attitude Era, that's for sure.

#4 Billy & Chuck got engaged on WWE SmackDown

Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo started teaming together for WWE in November 2001, and eventually became two-time World Tag Team Champions. Over time, the duo became more affectionate towards each other, and even both bleached their hair blonde. They even hired Rico as their own personal stylist, remember him?

In September 2002 in the middle of the ring, Palumbo proposed to Gunn. He proposed for them to have a life partnership, and would have a commitment ceremony, to which Gunn agreed. It was something of a different direction for WWE, which hadn't shown much attention to the LGBT community in WWE programming previously.

Sadly, like most WWE weddings that followed the proposal, things just didn't turn out how the couple wanted. Then Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff, disguised as the priest, brought out his 3-Minute Warning back-up to beat down Billy & Chuck. The SmackDown roster eventually came out to chase them off. The commitment never happened, and Billy and Chuck quietly parted ways.

#3 John Cena proposed to Nikki Bella on WWE's biggest show of the year

On WWE's grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania, John Cena teamed up with Nikki Bella to take on The Miz and Maryse in a mixed tag team match. Cena and Bella were victorious in overcoming the 'It Couple'.

Following the match, Cena bent down on one knee and proposed to Nikki. Nikki immediately accepted and they hugged and celebrated. John Cena and Nikki Bella's relationship has been heavily documented on WWE's reality shows Total Divas and Total Bellas. It was no surprise that such a big moment would happen on the biggest stage to get the world talking.

Sadly, the couple called their relationship off a year later, just a month away from their wedding. Bella cited how the couple wanted different things and parted ways. Nikki Bella went on to thank John Cena during her Hall of Fame speech in 2020 for everything he had done for her career in WWE.

#2 Eddie Guerrero proposed to Chyna during WWE's Attitude Era

Eddie Guerrero and Chyna's relationship in WWE blossomed over a period of time, in which Eddie eventually referred to Chyna as his 'Mamacita'. He pursued Chyna who couldn't resist his 'Latino Heat', even though Eddie was a heel at the time.

It was a mix of a serious and comedic storyline, which captured the hearts of the WWE Universe. Friction started to build spanning over a few months, in which Eddie would inadvertently cost Chyna some big match opportunities. For example, Eddie pinned her to advance to the next stages of the King of the Ring tournament.

Things came to a head when Eddie began cheating during his matches to retain his then WWE Intercontinental Championship, which he in fact accidentally won from Chyna. It upset Chyna that Eddie continued to use these tactics. Eddie also became upset when Chyna was posing for Playboy Magazine.

Shockingly, even with their strained relationship, Eddie proposed to Chyna which Chyna emotionally accepted. However, the engagement immediately broke off, as Eddie was caught showering with two of The Godfather's girls.

On the Grilling JR Podcast, Jim Ross explained more about the Eddie Guerrero and Chyna pairing in WWE:

Eddie was more invested in it. Eddie went along with it better. Eddie was magic. It was obvious Eddie Guerrero was one of the top workers in the world. He was at the top of his game in the sports entertainment aspect. [Chyna’s] business was all sports entertainment, it had no basis in old school pro wrestling. Eddie had come into that world and really started doing well, Eddie pulled it off. Him and [Chyna] liked each other, they enjoyed working together. As far as all the stuff that Chyna did, Eddie was her best benching partner for me." Jim Ross said (h/t Wrestling Inc)

#1 WWE legend Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth get engaged

In one of the first on-screen WWE wedding proposals we ever witnessed in pro-wrestling, the 'Macho Man' Randy Savage proposed to Miss Elizabeth. Savage declared that he loved her, and proceeded to pull out an engagement ring, with an excited WWE Chairman Vince McMahon on commentary.

The elated crowd ate up every moment, as Savage went down on one knee and proposed and declared "Will you marry me?". Miss Elizabeth delayed her response and then responded with the 'Macho Man's catchphrase "Oh yeah!" They married on-screen at the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view in 1991.

In real life, Savage and Miss Elizabeth were a couple before they married at the PPV and had a storied but troubled relationship behind the scenes. Savage's lifestyle, mixed with differences with Elizabeth, brought an end to their real-life marriage. Sadly, both have now passed away.
