Roman Reigns will not be competing at WrestleMania this year

By now, it's a matter of public record that Roman Reigns will not be a part of WrestleMania and most people across the world are okay with that. Roman Reigns made a decision for his health and his family and one has to respect him for it.

Well, Triple H has gone on to say that Roman Reigns will be eliminated from WrestleMania in a unique manner. So, let's explore 5 unique ways that WWE may choose to do so.

Be sure to leave a comment and let me know if you believe that any of the possibilities I have outlined may be the way that WWE writes Roman Reigns off. And how much will you miss Roman Reigns if he cannot make it all the way to WrestleMania?

#5 Laid out by a mystery attacker

Yes, I am certainly aware that the last time Roman Reigns was in a mystery attacker storyline, it did not pan out in the same way that we would have liked. People had assumed back then that it would lead to Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns, but it turned out to be Rowan instead who was outed as the attacker, leading to a feud that went nowhere. But this time, WWE has the luxury of time, and they can think things through to ensure that there is a storyline by the time Reigns returns.

Maybe The Usos could decide to investigate what happened to their cousin and it could result in some very interesting findings in the following weeks. WWE has been adding a cinematic touch to their empty arena shows and this could lend very effectively to this whole mystery attacker angle.

It would elevate not merely Reigns and The Usos, but a lot of Superstars could benefit from the same.

#4 Choked out by The Fiend, to sow the seeds for a feud

The Fiend may be in the most anticipated feud right now with John Cena, but one needs to remember that John Cena will be back in Hollywood before any of us knows it, and he will need a new feud. What if Roman Reigns was to address the WWE Universe from his home and then, out of nowhere, the lights began to flicker, with The Fiend appearing and choking the 'Big Dog' out?

We've seen how intense and how personal the whole Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt feud was in the past and how Wyatt continuously keeps repeating and stressing on the sins of the past in all of the Firefly Funhouse vignettes. He could definitely keep it going after WrestleMania and when the whole coronavirus pandemic ends, Roman Reigns could come back with a vengeance.

Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns was a fun feud all those years ago. But one with The Fiend could take things to a whole new level in my opinion, at least.

#3 Brawl with Goldberg who incapacitates him

As you can see from the interaction that I have posted here, Goldberg is a gem of a human being who's very kind to his fans and everyone that loves him. But then, when he gets into beast mode, he is an unstoppable monster as Roman Reigns could certainly find out soon.

Maybe there is a brawl between Goldberg and Roman Reigns in a parking lot that results in the former spearing the latter through some solid structure. And thus Roman Reigns could be written off television for a while, until the whole coronavirus scare goes away and return to claim his spot on SmackDown at a much later date.

Goldberg could come down to the ring and yell into the microphone proclaiming that Roman Reigns has been taken care of and he has been eliminated so he is waiting for whoever is next to step up and take his spot at WrestleMania, where Braun Strowman or whoever else will replace him could come out and claim the spot.

#2 Destroyed by Braun Strowman, who demands a replacement

By all accounts, it will be Braun Strowman who eventually replaces Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 36. Yes, the 'Monster Among Men' has been acting like a babyface in recent times but the loss of the Intercontinental Championship could have made something inside him snap. He was cheated out of the title in a three-on-one affair and it made him realize that he cannot play by the rules anymore.

And so, we could see him launch a dastardly attack on Roman Reigns to rule him out before WrestleMania 36. He could go on to become the Universal Champion at WrestleMania because Goldberg is a very expensive commodity and one wonders how much money Vince McMahon would be willing to invest in the living legend. So, when Roman Reigns does return he has a readymade feud with Braun Strowman just sitting there, waiting for him.

Somehow a heel Braun Strowman makes a lot more sense than a babyface one does, because of the way he looks and the way he wrestles.

#1 Crushed by a returning Lars Sullivan

To get you all primed and ready to go for WrestleMania, we had Sportskeeda's own Gary Cassidy touch base with Wrestling Inc.'s Raj Giri for a WrestleMania 36 preview. Do check out their chat because it is well worth your while.

Lars Sullivan's return has been delayed owing to his injury but because WWE now has the luxury of not having him compete in front of an audience, Sullivan could just take Reigns out in the back. Sullivan vs. Reigns is a feud that would make sense physically since both men are absolute powerhouses and it could be a reboot of Reigns vs. Strowman in a sense.

All we need to see is the sight of Roman Reigns laid out on the floor with the towering Lars Sullivan standing in front of him, grinning like a maniac. This would genuinely set the stage for a massive feud for whenever the world goes back to normalcy again.
