Coming on the heels of All Elite Wrestling's All Out PPV, Chris Jericho has found himself a challenger for the AEW World Title when he meets Cody at Full Gear, the follow-up to All Out, taking place on November 9 in Baltimore.

The bout was made utilizing AEW's emphasis on the win/loss records of the promotion's talents, with AEW President Tony Khan issuing the following comment to SI regarding the matchup:

“Cody’s outstanding record in singles competition has secured him the number one contender ranking, and he will be challenging AEW world champion Chris Jericho in the first-ever pay-per-view defense of the championship on November 9 in Baltimore at Full Gear,” said Khan.

“Cody earned this opportunity over the summer as he remained unbeaten in singles bouts, scoring pins on a pair of proven veterans, defeating his older brother, the legendary wrestler Dustin Rhodes at Double or Nothing, and beating bitter rival and former partner Shawn Spears at All Out—and battling to a draw with the exciting upstart Darby Allin at Fyter Fest."

With the above in mind, let's take a look at five ways AEW can book Chris Jericho vs Cody at Full Gear.

#5 Have Chris Jericho cleanly defeat Cody

AEW has done a solid job of booking talents such as Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega, who also serve as All Elite Wrestling executives, to look good on PPV, but not to bury other key talents in the company.

WWE is often criticized for talents such as Shane McMahon, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon taking up too much TV time, or burying other talents who are trying to get over on TV, and AEW has so far avoided that booking decision.

At AEW Full Gear, Chris Jericho should cleanly defeat Cody Rhodes, maintaining Jericho's hot momentum, and avoiding the perception that Cody is booking himself at the top of his own promotion.

#4 Hangman Page and PAC should get involved

Earlier this year, Hangman Page and PAC were scheduled to face-off at the first official AEW PPV, Double Or Nothing, but the bout was called off due to creative differences between PAC and All Elite Wrestling.

Fans were anticipating the matchup between Page and PAC, as it would mark PAC's return to U.S. PPV since leaving WWE where he was relegated mostly to PPV Kickoff shows.

After the Double Or Nothing bout was cancelled, Hangman Page won the right to face Chris Jericho at All Out when Page won the Battle Royale match at Double Or Nothing, but he went on to lose at All Out.

PAC, meanwhile, faced Kenny Omega at All Out, and while the match was solid, it was not the classic many fans believed Omega and PAC could have.

Given the above, it would make sense for Page and PAC to interfere in the title match at Full Gear, allowing them to establish themselves as title contenders in AEW.

#3 Someone should steal the title

Chris Jericho has made an entire career out of taking otherwise meaningless words or phrases and turning them into popular vernacular, with catchphrases such as "it", "again", and "you just made the list" reaching new heights in the hands of Jericho.

Most recently, Jericho legitimately lost his AEW title in one of the most bizarre true stories in recent pro wrestling memory, and the belt has since been returned to Jericho.

However, during the confusion of trying to reclaim the lost AEW title, Jericho has used the phrase "a little bit of the bubbly" to personalize yet another string of words which will no doubt become a classic Jericho catchphrase.

The story of the lost AEW title has also been the hottest topic in pro wrestling over the course of the past week, and the company has the opportunity to keep this story going on TV with someone "stealing" the title from Jericho at Full Gear.

#2 The bout could become a Triple Threat match

Cody vs Chris Jericho might be set for All Elite Wrestling's next PPV outing on November 9th, but over a month before the PPV, AEW will be premiering its TV show on TNT, and will certainly no doubt be building to Full Gear in November.

AEW has been using social media outlets such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube to build to its prior events, which include All In, Fyter Fest, Double Or Nothing and All Out, but come October 4th, the company will have the benefit of live television to help them promote upcoming PPV's.

With AEW set to premiere on TNT one month before Full Gear, there is plenty of time to change the announced Cody vs Jericho PPV match to a possible Triple Threat match, or even a Fatal Four-Way match.

With talents such as PAC and Hangman Page existing as possible title contenders, anything could happen to the announced Full Gear main event in the weeks leading up to the show.

#1 A disqualification could set the tone for a unique AEW product

All Elite Wrestling has promised to be an alternative to the current professional wrestling landscape, and one of the ways the company will look to differentiate itself from other wrestling promotions is by placing more emphasis on win/loss records.

The Chris Jericho vs Cody bout was booked at AEW Full Gear given Cody's win/loss record in All Elite Wrestling, the idea is that future title shots will be determined based on a record of wins vs other methods of determining number one contenders.

Another way AEW can differentiate itself from other wrestling promotions is by enforcing consequences for talents who seek disqualifications in title matches.

In most promotions, a title cannot change hands via disqualification, but if AEW chooses to do things differently, the company could alter the way fans perceive DQ's in pro wrestling title bouts.
