5 Wrestlers Who Can Be The First to Defeat Ronda Rousey

Triumphant Ronda
Triumphant Ronda

Ronda Rousey is being booked at the highest level possible. She is the current Raw Women's champion and is undefeated in all forms of competition till now. This is appropriate as she has exceeded all expectations as an in-ring performer and her character work and matches have been very well received by the fans. She also happens to be legitimately one of the toughest women on the planet and also a huge mainstream draw which makes her even more deserving of her position.

However, this also ensures a huge opportunity for the person who becomes the first to defeat her one on one. This would be an accomplishment of a lifetime for that superstar and thus, needs to be booked optimally.

I don't insist on Ronda's mini undefeated streak being explicitly emphasized every now and then until this finally happens as it would be the same as Asuka's case which didn't too well for her. Also, WWE has already done that, and as even using something of your own again is considered plagiarism on famous online sports sites, WWE must not do the same again. The reference should only be made when this finally happens.

As for when this should happen, moderation is the key. There is no point in delaying it too much and doing so too early wouldn't ensure enough credibility to the performer who accomplishes this feat. Let's take a look at five superstars who would be suitable for this.

#5. Charlotte Flair

Yes, this one has a lot of negatives. Firstly, it would make Charlotte more of the female Roman Reigns she is currently showing signs of being. She shouldn't be shoved down our throats. Also, it's never a good idea to keep all of your eggs in the same basket. She already has enough accomplishments to be considered an all-time great.

However, she is one of the very few women who could believably defeat Rousey. This would also solidify her status as the face of the Women's division. Ideally, if at all this has to happen, it should happen at WrestleMania 36. If rules are followed, Charlotte and Ronda can get on the same brand earliest by post WrestleMania next year.

Then, they would need some time to get a rivalry going. It's impractical for Rousey to still be Women's champion till that time, so she can lose the title in a similar fashion as Brock lost his at WrestleMania 31 and then win it back. Charlotte can then have a marquee match with her at WrestleMania 36, possibly even in the main event and dethrone her.

#4. Asuka

The Empress of Tomorrow

Asuka has lost a lot of momentum ever since her undefeated streak came to its demise. She was the first ever Women's Royal Rumble winner and now has been reduced to almost a comedy act after being made to look like an absolute fool against Carmella. She can regain her rightful credibility by becoming the first women to defeat Rousey one on one.

A good way to book this would be to let her turn heel and start winning for a while. She can then be drafted to Raw next year. By Summerslam, while Ronda would have defeated all possible opponents for the title, a renewed vicious and unforgiving Asuka would challenge her for the title. They would then go on to have a fantastic match together with Asuka beating Ronda Rousey.

The question is how? Well, I suggest as Asuka is a submission specialist, this can happen in one of two ways. First, a steel cage match, where Asuka can escape to win and second by locking Ronda in the Asuka lock and referee calling for the bell without Rousey tapping on Stephanie McMahon's orders just like the Montreal screw job. This can lead to a deadly alliance between Asuka and Stephanie and they can then feud with Ronda.

#3. Becky Lynch

Beck at Smackdown 1000

With this entry, I would be going back on my moderation point made earlier. If this were to happen, I would prefer having it this year at Survivor Series. The match would be champion vs champion and if Becky defeats Ronda, it would be an absolute shocker. She would obviously indulge in shenanigans to do so as she is a heel and then boast about it for a long long time.

A cheat roll-up would be dull, so I would prefer a clean pin after distraction from Ronda's heel number one contender who can preferably be Ruby Riot. Ruby and the rest of her squad can take out Ronda after the referee gets taken out and Becky would capitalize for the win.

This would have a lot of positives. First, Becky would be suitably rewarded for her excellent work recently and second, it would give more independence to Ronda Rousey's character by not being undefeated and also at the same time she won't lose credibility as she would be cheated on.

#2. Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair is one of the most talented female wrestlers of this generation. She has every element of being a megastar in her and is currently killing it on NXT. She could go on to become NXT Women's champion at some point and afterward turn face.

After a few solid title defenses, she could make a surprise appearance at the 2019 Royal Rumble and go on to win the match. She can then relinquish her NXT gold and challenge Rousey at WrestleMania 35 or if this has to be given proper time, WrestleMania 36 for the Raw Women's Championship. In the weeks leading to it, she can defeat top-notch superstars like Sasha Banks, Bayley and Ruby Riot, and even the drafted Asuka. Meanwhile, Ronda can lose the title in a triple threat by not getting pinned and win it back later.

Bianca can then go on to face Rousey at the showcase of the immortals. After hitting all her finishing moves multiple times, Bianca would finally be able to pin Ronda and her career on the main roster would get the best start possible.

#1. Bayley

Bayley about to compete

Bayley has been taken down several notches over the last year and a half. From being the triumphant babyface who stood tall after a gruelling contest at WrestleMania 33, she has been reduced to an unremarkable mid-card act. Her capability as a performer is undeniable and she must be given her due.

The best way to make up for the damage would have her accomplish something as monumental as being the first to defeat Ronda Rousey one on one. Off course this push must not be rushed like the Jinder case but must be built brick by brick. Bayley can momentum by winning feuds against Sasha Banks after she turns heel on her and Ruby Riot until next year. Ronda can meanwhile wipe out challenges such as Natalya and then have multi women match with Bayley as one of the participants.

Bayley would fail to win this match and fail at winning the Rumble as well. She could then earn a title shot post WrestleMania but lose by count out. This would frustrate her as people would consider that her only chance, but she would still beg Ronda for one last match for the gold at Summerslam. Ronda would agree but, only with Bayley's career on the line. With stakes higher than ever the two would compete in a gruesome match with Bayley winning clean after taking a lot of punishment. This would make Bayley the superstar she has always deserved to be.
