In the following WWE Fanfiction story, we take a look at a world where current Impact Wrestling star Scarlett Bordeaux has come over to the WWE--challenging reigning SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair for the title...
#5 The Smoke Show -- Scarlett Bordeaux
The lights go off for a few seconds, as the fans gasp in awe of the entrance ramp lighting up--smoke covering the passage area, behind which lay the curtains from where the WWE Superstars make their flashy entrances. All of a sudden, the Titantron shows a visual of none other than former ROH and Impact Wrestling star--"The Smoke Show" Scarlett Bordeaux.
The fans in attendance at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, raucously cheer Bordeaux as she makes her way to the ring--relishing every moment of the spotlight--She's finally on the big stage; having proven her detractors wrong after all! Bordeaux then took to the mic, as she egged on the WWE Universe's cheers and seemingly unintelligible chants.
Regardless, a couple of minutes after her having taken to the ring, the crowd settles into a "Let's go Scarlett!" chant--with the fans showing their unanimous support for the popular new WWE-signee..."What's up, Chicago!!! (*fans cheer)...I knew when I first walked into the WWE that there'd be no place other than my hometown (*pause) of Chicago, that's worthy enough to witness the debut of the one and only Smoke Show of WWE," said Bordeaux...
#9 Rivals' jealousy knows no bounds when you look like a "10"
(*Fans cheer) "WrestleMania 35 was wild, but tonight is about the future--and the future is my very own show on the WWE Network--Talking Smack With Miss Bordeaux. Now, I know I may not be the most-liked WWE Superstar backstage, especially since the WWE has recognized my talent, a real women's wrestling star, unlike most other 'divas' in the locker room," Scarlett continued, as the fans began turning on her--with boos slowly creeping in.
"Love me or hate me, Miss Bordeaux is here to stay," she said with a cunning smile on her face, and closed out her debut segment...
#8 The Ruthless Romanian vs. The Ravishing Russian
Nicknamed "The Ruthless Romanian", Scarlett Bordeaux--who spent a few years of her childhood with her grandparents in Romania--returned to her roots; channeling a gimmick which saw her come down to the ring in a completely different attire than what she donned throughout her career as well as in her WWE debut the previous week. Bordeaux sported ring-gear which resembled that of legendary female boxer Mia St. John--with news subsequently breaking that the WWE has accorded Bordeaux the gimmick of a conniving Eastern European wrestler-cum-boxer.
Despite having competed sporadically at WWE house shows as well as in a RAW match against Nia Jax in 2016, this was promoted as her debut match in the company--one which saw Bordeaux absolutely destroy "The Ravishing Russian" Lana; landing several hard punches to the latter's body and head, before performing a Codebreaker which was followed by her successfully covering Lana for the 1-2-3...After the one-sided squash match was done with, Bordeaux grabbed a mic, and began trashing the people of Indianapolis, Indiana who happened to be the hosts of this week's SmackDown Live episode...
#7 If looks could kill...
By now, it was crystal clear--Scarlett Bordeaux was a heel to the core. The Ruthless Romanian then went on to plug her talk show--Talking Smack With Miss Bordeaux--besides claiming that she's 10-times better than her predecessor on Talking Smack, Renee Young. Bordeaux then made a rather shocking revelation that left the fans perplexed--"I ain't just here to talk trash, I'm here to win gold. What you pathetic losers are looking at, is the greatest WWE Superstar of all time! Casey Flair (*not a typo), stop hiding behind your daddy, little girl. Get your a** to the ring, so I can beat you down, and take what's rightfully mine--The SmackDown Women's Championship!"
Bordeaux dropped the mic and stormed off to the back; as the shocking episode of SmackDown Live which left the Indianapolis crowd in awe; was followed by the myriad of pro-wrestling experts noting that the shocking angle of Bordeaux being presented as a dangerous 'striker' rather than her usual eye-candy persona, may have to do with the fact that the company views her as a legitimate wrestler who just so happens to be gifted with stunning looks as well as excellent mic skills...
#6 Charlotte Flair -- The Incumbent Queen
The following week's episode of SmackDown Live finally saw the blue brand's reigning Women's Champion return, after having taken a couple of weeks off to heal a sprained ankle--having refrained from appearing on TV as well as house shows during her brief rehab. Charlotte Flair demanded that the production crew cut her music, as she sounded off on Scarlett Bordeaux right away--"Scarlett Bordeaux, Miss Bordeaux, or whatever your name is; you'd better show me some respect! I know you've gotten all buddy-buddy with the WWE executives backstage, but you know what? I don't care."
After dropping the mic, Flair subsequently wrestled a brief match against Mandy Rose--destroying the latter in a couple of minutes with the Figure-Eight, making Rose tap out. "The Queen" then took to the mic once again to mixed reactions from the fans with this week's edition airing from Cleveland, Ohio--"You see that Scarlett? That's you, if you are woman enough to look into my eyes and dare to repeat what you've been saying behind my back. I have..." The promo gets interrupted midway, as Bordeaux's music hits, only for no one to come out at first.
Just when Flair began grinning and seemingly let her guard down, albeit for a second, Bordeaux emerged from the crowd and tagged Flair with what appeared to be a shield-like object...
#5 The Thraex
Corey Graves noted on commentary that he'd spoken to Bordeaux earlier the same night, and she'd made him privy to her plan of using the "Thraex" aka "Thracian" which Graves explained was an ancient Roman weapon...Bordeaux targeted Flair's back and head with the Thraex--leaving the latter a battered mess on the floor, before several WWE officials including SmackDown Live General Manager Paige rushed down the entrance ramp to stop the senseless beat-down.
"Charlotte Flair, Cici Flair (*not a typo), you and me at WWE Payback. Keep that title warm for me, little girl, because two weeks from now, it's mine!"--said Bordeaux, with an evil grin on her face...
#4 The Mysterious Mentor -- A man of many faces
The next episode of SmackDown Live, featured WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair attending his daughter Charlotte's "contract signing" segment against Scarlett Bordeaux--with both Charlotte as well as Scarlett having made their way to the ring, under the hawk-eye supervision of SmackDown Live General Manager Paige...While Flair had signed the contract, Bordeaux was yet to do so.
With the confidence of a tigress in her natural habitat, Bordeaux asserted--"Not so fast, Charly (*not a typo) Flair!" All of a sudden the music cues, and it's none other than the first Undisputed Heavyweight Champion in WWE history, Chris Jericho! The crowd pops, as Y2J makes his way down the entrance ramp--his usual smile and fan-friendly camaraderie gone; replaced with a rather heelish smirk...Jericho was all business as Bordeaux shook his hand--following which, the man grabbed a microphone.
"Hello, Richard," he said in a condescending tone, "I know you'll be ringside with your daughter, to help her hold on to that title for as long as she can. But guess what? Charlotte's time at the top of the food chain is OVER! Me and my protege--"The Ruthless Romanian"--yeah, I'm talking to you, you stupid idiot!" He said looking at Ric Flair--Meanwhile, chants of "Stupid Idiot" began to ring all through the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania...
#3 The maniacal protege
Jericho continued, "As I was saying before these stupid idiots so rudely interrupted me; my protege Scarlett Bordeaux is here to take over the WWE. She's here on her own merits, unlike a certain daddy's girl," said Jericho, looking at Charlotte...Y2J added--"The time of The Flairs ruling the world of prof...I'm sorry, sports-entertainment; is gone. You tried your best to hold me down in WCW, and then in the WWE, but now--I would NEVER; EVER!!! Let a Flair mess with me or my students."
Just as he'd finished sounding off on Ric, Bordeaux retrieved a foreign object from under the contract-signing table, and blindsided Charlotte--laying the latter out with the very same weapon--The Thraex--which she'd used to hurt "The Queen" last week. Bordeaux then swung the Thraex wildly at the 4 security personnel who were there at the orders of Paige.
Furthermore, Bordeaux proceeded to rag-doll Charlotte, as Ric and Paige looked on in shock--following which, she power-bombed Charlotte through the announce table...Leaving her foe in a heap outside the ring, Bordeaux calmly returned to the ring, signed the contract, and left without making a fuss as Paige called for more backstage officials to come break up the melee...
#2 Payback is a...
Following the explosive Tuesday night edition of SmackDown Live, it was on Sunday that the WWE Universe in attendance at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, swayed with their chants as momentum shifted back-and-forth between Charlotte Flair and Scarlett Bordeaux. By now, it'd become fairly obvious that Bordeaux was the more stronger, powerful Superstar of the duo--however, Charlotte enjoyed the speed, flexibility and overall wrestling advantage over her foe.
Despite having managed to trap Bordeaux in the Figure-Eight submission hold on not one but two occasions, Charlotte failed to secure the tap--as Chris Jericho cheered on his protege; while Ric Flair with a worried look on his face, watched his daughter fight tooth and nail. Charlotte tried everything--the Spear, the Natural Selection as well as her aforementioned Figure-Eight submission finisher--but to no avail...Bordeaux was simply too strong, as the Romanian physical specimen used her tree-trunk legs to power out of every hold and pinfall attempt.
Over the course of this grueling showdown, Bordeaux managed to connect with the Codebreaker on Charlotte, on a couple of occasions--in fact, she'd secured a near-fall on the second attempt. Nevertheless, Bordeaux seemed in control, but took her eyes off her foe--which in turn resulted in her getting placed into the Figure-Eight again! The match seemed to be done with, and very well would've been, if it weren't for Jericho running over to Ric Flair and threatening to punch the latter--thereby distracting Charlotte.
Needless to say, Charlotte let go of the hold and hurried out the ring to stop Jericho, who by now, had let go of Ric's collar. Charlotte then rolled back into the ring, and Bordeaux immediately took advantage of her distracted opponent; nailing The Queen with the Codebreaker for the third time in the match, and putting her down for the 1-2-3...Scarlett Bordeaux was then revealed to be the new WWE SmackDown Women's Champion, by ring-announcer JoJo Offerman...
#1 The Golden Helmet of Cotofenesti
Y2J's prophecy had come true. Chris Jericho instantly took to the ring; celebrating with the victorious Scarlett Bordeaux as the newly-crowned champion basked in glory. However, the celebrations were far from over...The following week on SmackDown Live from the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, a "Romanian Coronation Ceremony" was arranged for "The Ruthless Romanian"--with Bordeaux taking to the ring for the same as fans booed.
As confirmed by SmackDown GM Paige who was visibly disappointed, the contract had specified that should Bordeaux win, she reserves the right to hold a coronation ceremony. Well, needless to say Bordeaux also asked for every other Superstar from the blue brand's Women's Division to be present ringside as she took her place atop the throne of SmackDown Live...Chris Jericho memorably stated--"Ladies and gentlemen, and all of you stupid idiots out there; I give you the new Queen of WWE--my protege Scarlett Bordeaux!"
A Romanian priest, who was specially flown in for the grand occasion, presented Bordeaux "The Golden Helmet of Cotofenesti"--a piece of ancient Roman weaponry; a helmet which is said to have been discovered back in 1929 in Prahova County, Romania; one which was used back in the 4th century BC's first-half.
Scarlett Bordeaux proudly accepted the honor, and sat on the throne right in the middle of the ring, thinking to herself--"This is just the beginning. These people have no idea about the dominance and longevity, with which I plan on ruling the WWE Universe."
