Roman Reigns is a Superstar who has often divided opinion amongst the WWE Universe, in a similar way to John Cena. However, one thing that is inarguable is the fact that Roman Reigns is one of the most successful WWE Superstars of the current era.

Reigns is a 4-time world champion already as well as a former Intercontinental, US and Tag-Team Champion. The man has also won a Royal Rumble and in his 7 years on WWE’s main roster, has already headlined WrestleMania a staggering 4 times.

WWE have positioned Reigns as 'the guy' and it shows a lot from his booking. Reigns also has one of the best-win loss records on the WWE roster in recent years and has faced and defeated a number of WWE Legends already.

Today we take a look at 5 WWE legends who were never able to beat Reigns in a singles match.

#5 Mark Henry

Our list starts with the ‘World’s Strongest Man’ Mark Henry. The year was 2013 and The Shield were about to rampage through the WWE roster. In a SmackDown taping in December, Roman Reigns went toe-to-toe with the WWE legend in a singles match for the first time and despite his experience, Henry was unable to beat Reigns.

Reigns and Henry continued to face each other in early 2014 in a number of singles matches but it was Reigns who won the match on each and every occasion, showing how much WWE believed in him even that early on. Reigns has gone on to repay the faith management had shown in him.

#4 Randy Orton

As a 14-time world champion, there’s no doubt that Randy Orton will be a WWE Hall of Famer in the future. He’s also a 2-time Royal Rumble winner and a former IC and US Champion. However, despite all these accomplishments, there is one feather that has so far been missing from Orton’s cap – a singles victory over Roman Reigns.

The closest Orton has come to beating Reigns are three draws the two have had - one in 2013, the second in 2014 and another in 2015.

Orton and Reigns faced off in a number of singles matches in 2014 – both televised and in Live Events – with Reigns beating Orton on every occasion. The most significant of these wins came when the Big Dog and The Viper met at WWE SummerSlam 2014. Orton looked like he had Reigns in place to hit him with The Punt, only for Reigns to sidestep him and hit The Viper with his patented Spear.

Orton and Reigns are both on the SmackDown brand now so it won’t be surprising if Orton finally gets his win over Reigns sometime in the future.

#3 Chris Jericho

Next up on our list is WWE Legend, the first-ever AEW World Heavyweight Champion and a man who enjoys ‘a little bit of the bubbly’ Chris Jericho.

Jericho has totally reinvented himself in recent years and is now at the helm of All Elite Wresting’s bid to revolutionize wrestling. Jericho has had a Hall of Fame career already and is one of the most popular stars in the pro wrestling industry. However, one minor thing Jericho has never done is to beat Roman Reigns in a singles match.

Reigns and Jericho only faced each thrice in televised singles action, all of which came in 2016. They also wrestled each other at a number of WWE Live Events that year, with Reigns beating Jericho each and every time.

It’s unfortunate that these two didn’t get to wrestle each other more often because we saw that they had great chemistry. With Jericho now signed to AEW, it looks unlikely that these two will ever meet in singles action again.

#2 John Cena

Next up is the ‘Face That Runs The Place’ himself – John Cena. Cena has won almost everything there is to win in WWE and has equalled Ric Flair’s legendary 16 world title wins. He has beaten almost every opponent he’s faced in WWE at least once but one man he has been unable to vanquish in a singles match is Roman Reigns – the man reportedly earmarked by Cena to be his successor as the face of WWE.

Reigns and Cena have faced each other in singles action thrice – only one of which was a televised match coming at No Mercy 2017. Despite the build being slightly lackluster, the match itself didn’t disappoint as the two stalwarts of the WWE put it all on the line. Reigns kicked out of a double Attitude Adjustment on his way to beating Cena after hitting the 16-time world champion with the Spear.

Roman Reigns and John Cena have also faced each other on two other occasions – both non televised, one of which came at WWE’s MSG Show at the end of 2017 and the second coming at WWE’s Road to WrestleMania Live Event in Chicago in March 2018. Reigns won both the matches.

#1 The Undertaker

The final entry in our list is none other than the legend, the Deadman, the Phenom himself – The Undertaker.

The Undertaker is a WWE legend and he’s been a locker room leader in the past few years. He’s faced some of the biggest names in wrestling including the likes of The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels and John Cena, and he’s beaten them all. However, one person Undertaker was not able to beat was Roman Reigns.

Reigns and Undertaker faced each other at WrestleMania 33 in the main event of the Show of Shows. The match itself was slightly disappointing with The Deadman not being in the best shape at the time because of a number of niggling injury issues. Reigns won the match after pinning The Deadman following the Spear.

The feud started after Reigns eliminated The Undertaker from the Royal Rumble earlier that year, which seriously angered the Deadman. At the time, it looked like The Undertaker had retired after losing to Reigns but he has since returned to the ring.
