5 Top WWE Superstars who had different gimmicks before they got famous

Hard work pays!
Hard work pays!

WWE is the dream destination for all wrestlers, and anyone who starts as a wrestler wants to work with the company. Vince McMahon and his team have created a company that is the description of being phenomenal, as well as being the best in the field of their business.

Mr. McMahon took his company to the biggest levels through his hard work and perseverance, and some wrestlers have been with the company since its starting days. Patt Patterson is one such name, and while he was a famous wrestler from the initial days, not everyone is as famous.

There are few wrestlers that worked hard to be the name that they are today, but even before they made it big, they had to earn that spot. Some of them started from the bottom or worked as jobbers before they could be given the opportunity to either headline a show or even start on the main roster.

NXT is the show that is creating new stars, but back in the day the wrestlers didn't have the same platform, and so a lot of their performances went unnoticed.

Here are 5 wrestlers that made it to the WWE before they were famous:

#5 Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy has been with the WWE since 1998, but prior to being with the company, he wrestled Kane on Raw along with his brother Matt Hardy. The way Jeff looks like back then is simply difficult to believe because unlike his current days of being risk-taking, he performed as a jobber.

He is 'The Enigma' now, but he had to earn his opportunity to headline Wrestlemania or perform in some other competitions over the years. This also confirms that hard work pays off and if you have the attitude to persist, things can change for you at any instant.

#4 Mick Foley

Mick Foley did create a character titled 'Cactus Jack,' and before he made his way into WWE, he would perform under this name in WCW. In the video above, he faces Steiner Bros., and this feud is considered as a vicious one.

Mick is one of those legends that loved being hardcore, and over the years of his career, he showcased this through the matches. From an infamous fall from Hell In A Cell to a drop on the thumbtack, the wrestler has been through some of the most savage segments in the WWE.

His work is proof that with hard work and perseverance you can be whatever you want to be. Over the years his involvement in different ventures has also helped him due to his journey in the WWE or may I say professional wrestling. He worked alongside legends and is a WWE Hall of Famer.

#3 Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose is the hottest thing on WWE Raw. His work is loved by fans, and when he was a babyface, fans loved his work, and now when he is a heel, he is still a fan favorite.

Dean didn't enjoy success instantly, because he worked as a jobber during his initial days. During an episode of WWE Heat, he fought with Val Venis in pink hair. 'The Lunatic' of The Shield did look like a lunatic and also performed the same way on the show.

The show dates back to 2007, and 5 years later he debuted as a member of 'The Shield' which took the wrestling scene by storm. The faction is the most loved tag team and the way his story stands right now we may see him perform some of the most gruesome matches in the history of the company in the forthcoming pay-per-views.

#2 Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins is 'The Architect' and 'The Kingslayer' of the Shield and WWE respectively. The current Intercontinental Champion and one half of the Tag Team Champion also paid his dividends before making it big in the WWE.

The wrestler who used to fight as Tyler Black fought 'The Phenomenal' AJ Styles on April 28, 2006, in Muscatine, IA at an NWA No Limits show. While the two haven't crossed paths in the WWE until now, a match between them would be a great way to ignite an old rivalry, and also give the fans a great match which would be talked about for ages.

We have seen Seth Rollins battle for 70 mins. on Raw, and also seen AJ Styles become the biggest wrestler on the blue brand right now, and a match between them will be on every wrestling fans wishlist. The company could really create a match between them down the line and give it's fans something to talk about.

#1 The Undertaker

The Undertaker is the biggest name in the field of Professional Wrestling. The legend holds a 23-2 Wrestlemania record which shall be difficult for anyone to break in years or even centuries.

Even before he debuted as a member of 'The Million Dollar Man' Ted Dibiase's team at Survivor Series, the legend was fighting some of the most amazing matches in different promotions except WWE.

Mark Calloway (the real name of Taker) is known for his work inside the WWE ring, and over the years he has created many superstars through his promos. Randy Orton is one such wrestler that everyone remembers because he was involved in a feud with Taker, and in the process, his career also became better.

'The Reaper' is known for his professionalism, and while it seems like we may see the end of his career soon, this video is a testament that every work pays off in the long run.
